I can't forgive his awful attempt of a clearance vs Sunderland, or his wayward passing that have led to counter attack goals, and his woeful tracking. He's in the side to play LB or RB or DM, he needs to do that shit. He doesn't do that well, had 1 good ball - that doesn't justify or make "better" anything else for me. He should be miles better based on his size, pace and technical ability but his mental lapses are costly...they lead to goals, and at the moment we aren't scoring any goals to nullify those mistakes.

Hazard has a take-over / kill switch that top players have in all different types of sports. Hatem has it too rarely, which is a shame. Hatem had it earlier this season IMO.

What about the pass to Sissoko? That 1 pass was nice.

My honest opinion was that he was put into the side to play some sort of DM role. He did not track Hazard into the box, he let Hazard get the shot away and Hazard scored. He then once again looked OK carrying the ball up the pitch from time to time, again had his standard 0 end-product. His corners, free kicks etc were nothing memorable. He did nothing for me in that role. He's a LB, and a make-shift RB. Nothing more. None of this play Santon on the wing stuff works for me as he doesn't really put in a good cross, 1 out of his 35 shots look threatening, and he's simply a pretty decent dribbler of the ball before he predictably cuts in side, loses possession and then casually jogs back into defense, where we look caught-out and many times, concede goals.

I used to schedule work days around matches when possible and not traveling, ie: loading it up on the phone or pc at the office and watching on NBC - or heading home early for the day and working from home....couldn't be arsed today. Will get to it when I can.

I hate to say this, as one who absolutely loves watching Hatem play for us - I just personally don't see it ever working out for him. It would have to be a massive change in his life or best (for us) manager, who knows how to get on with him and get him back looking in shape and playing top football. I hope I'm wrong (pray even) and I hope he does work out for us, and I hope its under a manager who sees that this once in a lifetime type talent is under contract at Newcastle United and sees how to set him up for success and turns him into the consistent, brilliant, and match-winning player that has the ability to tear defenses into shreds.

Also the same match Debuchy got hurt, then Haidara came on for him and Santon switched to the right, and then finally Haidara's leg was nearly taken off by Callum Macca. Ah. Can't remember any impressive performance from our players in that match. All I could remember vividly when Santon played on the right was him cutting back and then crossing with his left foot. Yes that happened. Many, many matches last season were some of the worst I've ever seen.

Seems like a lot is to be determined in the summer. Would really hope that points to some major changes all over versus saving on wages, like.

I'd want Leeds, Blackburn, Boro, Forest, and Sheffield Wednesday in there. I quite miss our Tyne-Tees derbies and going over there and battering them to bits.

Yeah man, it was hardly expensive as well. Would have softened the blow of losing Cabaye but the qualities he possesses with his dribbling, close control and touch, and passing seemed like he could actually be an improvement on the long-run as he fit exactly where we needed someone to play.
