  1. I'm just don't believe in loaning players when trying to build a team and a team spirit and sense of commitment and at the same time paying for the privilege of improving your competitors players for the future. I'm more long term with my approach but I'm fully aware this isn't the vogue anymore as players and managers alike move around with such frequency. I'd much rather we loaned a player for one year with the intention of getting promoted than signed someone who the manager doesn't think is right, just for the sake of this argument. I'd imagine that Rafa was unable to identify or seal a LB this summer (permanently) who is capable on both ends of the pitch, so is utilizing this loan to stop-gap this year.
  2. One thing I love is that you only see our fans in our home matches on TV and when the opposition scored, you'd hear them high above and the away players would have to look up. Keep it that way imo.
  3. I wouldn't be opposed to selling him for sure, but then I'd want us to get a fit left back to replace him (permanently) in addition to Galloway
  4. Galloway can help us get promoted. Win. Galloway's performance can solidify our club's thought to upgrade the position long term. Win. Galloway's performance can either force our hand and pay the price to get him in. Win. Or we could say, thanks for helping us, we're going to sign someone better long term now that we're in the premier league again. Win.
  5. and Ikon is def kidding because he's the reason Jetro Willems was scared away from signing for us.
  6. It really isn't. Let's get the fuck out of this division man
  7. 3 mil references will never get old, stays with us as long as we're still floating about outside the atmosphere too, eh Yorkie?

  9. Much rather boot our #10 and give the new striker the #10
  10. i love a #9 but I'd not care if we signed a top striker to do the business at the sake of the #9 sitting the bench this season.
  11. a team that won 1-0 after not having a dude sent off and a handball not called in our favor. if there was ever shit luck we got on the wrong end of like 5 decisions that night.
  12. written off the season in week 1 eh?
  13. We'll be fine, just win Saturday (if we get an early goal, perfect) and we'll go on a run IMO.
  14. *breathes in* To answer my own question, 1 time - Norwich. So the better argument for us we need to make sure we have a minimum of 10 points after 5 matches. And then I'm throwing out all other "trends" and saying we just need to go on and go unbeaten at home, win most of them of course, and lose between 4-9 times. Boro had 8 pts after 5 matches: D, W, D, L, W Watford had 12 pts after 5 matches: W, L, W, W, W Burnely had 10 pts after 5 matches: D, W, W, L, W Hull had 10 pts after 5 matches: W, L, D, W, W, W Southampton had 12 pts after 5 matches: W, W, W, W, L Norwich had 10 pts after 5 matches: L, W, W, D, W West Brom had 11 pts after 5 matches: D, W, W, W, D
  15. Looking at that post, Yorkie, the only thing that really caught my eye is none of those title winning teams lost their first match. But if we go on a proper run and win the next 4, awesome. Of the 2nd place teams, I assume many of those lost 1 or more matches in the first 2-3? We've the 1 anomaly none of these winning teams had and that's Rafa Benitez and a world class manager. I suspect we may be a slow moving train to begin with but when things click for us (and they will soon) we'll start steam rolling teams.
  16. Yorkie took the time to edit and format that post with colors and s***
  17. We just need to create chances and we'll bang them in, Villa have goal scorers but curious who's actually going to create for them.

Just wondering what signing Galloway could do for Gamez. I'm convinced he's probably our best RB and feel people talking about his weakness in attack is subjective when he was in a league with Marcelo
  19. Sellout, Gallowgate Flags and they've got Wigan vs. Blackburn on TV. FFS.
  20. Alta writes and types in code. Ain't a fucking clue what he's saying or trying to say 90% of the time.
  21. The prices will drop when the economies of these countries (and in England) start to falter in whatever next domestic downturn there is. If the PL is not making as much money (hence the TV deals that they are trying to get done to secure gtd income) then you'll see prices decline. Certain clubs are over-speculating IMO, and that's not really smart, not another Leeds or Rangers situation, but some of these clubs are really banking on gtd TV income. God forbid something happens to fuck that up.
