I am fine with NJ, just not at the price Chelsea quoted.

The ironic part is my Man Utd mates are screaming “Nooooo we don’t want him we don’t want to break the bank for such a risky gamble” just weird, the whole saga.

Kinda correct, that’s why I always said it’s even better in PSR perspective to sell Isak next summer. If we sell Isak for 150m, assuming no more amortization cost left, we will have 150m profit for 2025, none in 2026 and 2027 then if we buy players in for 150m, assuming 5 years contract, based on amortization, it would become a -30m loss for the next 5 years so if we sell Isak now, it would be 120m profits and -30m loss for the next 4 years. So in this scenario in 2028 we would have -90m 3 year rolling loss. if we sell Isak in 2026 instead, it would be a -30m loss for 2025, 120m for 2026, -30m loss for 2027-2029. In this case in 2028 we would still have a 60m 3 year rolling profit. It would be 2029 when we have the -90m loss, 1 year later of course very likely we won’t get 150m if we sell next season. The above scenarios are extremely simplified, since I didn’t factor in the salaries. But the logic still holds: it’s even better to sell Isak next year in PSR perspective.

Yea, just a question when those four will be sold

I understand your point. I would say there is a chance we switch to 442 this year after getting Sesko, Wissa AND retain Isak. 3 players rotating for 2 positions, same as CM (Bruno, Tonali, Joe) Or else I also don’t understand why we don’t find a new CM urgently. 3 players for 3 positions there, destined for a collapse.

exactly. Just do it next summer. A lot more interested parties, with a whole year of preparation of funding.

A very simple calculation is to divide the cost by 4/5 (the contract length). So say we sign Elanga and Sesko, 150m pounds spent, this means it would give us a further burden of around 30m per year for the next five years (ignore the salaries first). for 2025 it’s not a problem because we have overcome the amortized cost previous incurred in earlier years and we have the ECL money. We don’t need to sell Isak for 2025. Pretty sure about this. however for 2026 or 2027 if we missed out on any Europe competition then we do need to sell Isak or one of the purple patches to cover it.

Kinda, assuming no further purchase in the next few window its a three year rolling criteria so even if we spend big this summer we will only got hit 2 years later. PSR is not an issue for this window. It might be for 2026 and likely for 2027.

I read it differently. Isaks agent went to Anfield is to negotiate with Liverpool side to see how genuine their interest is and tell them they need to come up a sizeable offer or Isak will stay, may even sign a new contract. If he is fully set for Liverpool, his agent doesn’t need such a visit, which actually risks further legal action re tapping up. Basic stuff re salary / bonus etc must have been agreed for long. This doesn’t need to have any further discussion. Considering 1. the surprisingly low 110m offer from Liverpool side 2. Isaks back to training without anyway indication he wants to escalate (a lot of us expect him to put on a show or hands in transfer request but he didn’t) 3. Shadow muppets info that the club wants to persuade him to stay, which is very likely by signing the new contract (or else nothing he need to have agreement on) I think things are looking positive to me. The increase bid for Sesko is probably a separate issue, although I agree they might be related.

I would go for it this time, 50m is fine. Just fuck the scousers. Worth it.

Don’t mind if we just pull out now tbh. RB quoted a price, we offered as such, deemed to be short of what they want. We offered a contract in accordance to their agents request, got no response. Man Utd even haven’t submitted their offer yet. We all know once they submit what will happen Yea I know we are in crisis but then it’s fucking obvious what will happen next few seasons even if we “gratefully” got Sesko this summer. Might as well go for others. It’s getting stupid.

I would say the chance of signing no-one and we need to keep playing Isak is higher than people here expect

I think we will walk away within 24 hours
