if the meeting is just among PIF, Isak and his agent, and Howe, then very likely you won’t be able to hear anything. The only one that can leak info out is his agent and I am 100% sure that PIF told him any leakage will result with severe consequence. Let’s see whether Isak joins the training tomorrow.

We can rename our club as Newcastle Circus United if that’s true
-
In the end we just want someone who is competent enough to share Eddies workload and at the same time develops a mutual trust relationship with Eddie. What we want to express is this couldn’t be done solely by one party, but both of them.
-
I started to think a one year contract might not be too bad. We need bodies for training.
-
might as well bring back Ashworth now.
-
They know we are in panic mode. That’s the consequence of our great performance past two months
-
I agree re Isaks part. If Arsenal knows Isak is unhappy and wants quit they would approach us before end of June. That’s the only explanation. Probably even Howe doesn’t know the contract issues. But then by the time we bid for Ekitike I do think the club or Howe already knows Isak want to quit this season or next season and Ekitike is the replacement. No sure about Mitchell’s part. It’s really weird. You can put the blame on PIF / Eales.

it really depends, but most of the top clubs do let DOF to have the final say on transfer as ultimately it should be DOF who is responsible for transfers and long term squad planning, while first team coach mainly responsible for utilizing the players on hand and extract the most of them. These club also tends to have a DOF last longer than the coach. however for some clubs when the head coach has done a marvellous job, he will start to have more influence on transfer, probably to the point that it exceeds what his role should have, thus starting to have power struggles with DOF. Just look at Liverpool - even Edwards have had enough and quit after uncountable clashes with Klopp. I genuinely think similar things happened between Eddie and Ashworth/Mitchell. To be honest, all managers want to have more influence on transfers. I remember a lot of people here also suggests that Eddie should always have the final say on transfer so as to give what he wants best for the team. The problem is, ultimately, Eddie is just an human being and couldn’t replicate an AI to do all the jobs. Probably if he is fully focusing on transfers and approach those players by person they really would join Eddies project. But the reality is he can’t, and suddenly we all remember what a DOF should do.
-
To be fair, if the DOF is unable to make final decisions on signings, it’s fair to say the DOF doesn’t have the control on transfer. Then who in the club has the control?
-
the ironic stuff is they also don’t believe they are going for Sesko till now
-
whatever, we don’t care, please just finalize the deal asap.
-
Am I the only one want us to give up / being rejected by Sesko asap? I don’t want another cunt joining us anyway, and we can keep that one ourselves for this season
-
If he formally tell us he wants to leave then we will just formally tell him he won’t be allowed to leave. It’s already not a question of happy or unhappy or business or what. No club in the world would sell their only striker on paper with so many games ahead. I think Liverpool somewhat know this is the case too - they are finding substitutes for Isak already. Why would Liverpool want to gamble on 31 Aug last attempt bid and risk having Ekitike as their only striker as well? The Sesko deal has a very big impact on the big picture. I genuinely think Liverpool might not come back and that’s it for Isak. Some of my scouser friends even suggest that Liverpool should hijack the Sesko deal themselves and then move on to other positions. I somewhat agree with that.

we are in panic mode, obviously
-
DOF is responsible for the long term cohesive plan, while both of them were having difficulties working with Howe. Not saying that those two were good hiring but imo Howe also needs to adjust himself re collaborating with a DOF.
-
Prior to mid July it’s the “right player, right price” direction together with incompetence that resulted so many failure. Afterwards its purely panic mode operation + not enough preparation work done for such scenario everyone within the management deserves sticks for this. Howe inclusive.
-
Do it. That would surely be the end of Isak to Liverpool story.

This or a cheeky bid for Mainoo
