The only circumstance that I would sell ASM is a swap deal for Leao
-
if you want a regular top five wide man prospect I am afraid we need to chuck out 100m like what Man Utd did to Antony
-
A fully fit 45mins for Wilson would probably be more productive than a knackered 90mins.

I think people gotta be realistic. 40m is not an outrageous fees nowadays. If you really check other clubs transfer records, 40m is just about right for a top prospect. Gordon is just a prospect and far from a finishing product. He should be like that - showing where he is talented and showing what he needs to work on. You can’t expect he is a world beater and beats full backs for fun just because we payed 40m on him. I like what I saw from his game. A natural two-footer with pace, able to cross and shoot from anywhere, and is extremely willing to defend for the team. He just needs time to improve his decisions. Judge him as a 40m prospect instead of a 40m finished product. We should have learnt this lesson from Joelinton anyway.

This match shows why Howe was reluctant to drop Burn. however we seems to have more buffer now and I would prefer to give Targett a run rather than going back to Burn. At best we could bring his game back for next season, at worst we can just give up and move on in the summer.

Botman is the best performer among the whole defence line
-
I think most of the teams or scouts rate his defending ability as “very poor”. And to be honest his defending is really his major weakness - and he needs a solid defence system to cover him up. He is just like the CB version of Pirlo. He deserves a lot of credit for our outstanding season, I just want to point out that Botman probably deserves more.

I am not saying we must start him every game, but then seems someone need to do his job when we are not playing him. Something was obviously broken today

The midfield pressure is close to non-existant today, and missing Longstaff might be a factor
-
What the hell are you drunk Kaka?

He is a gamble. Every high profile transfer is a gamble. Look at Mudryk.

It means “I have zero interest in joining Newcastle since day one. I didn’t put it aside, it’s simply a waste of time right from the beginning” however, nowadays, I don’t believe any club would make an offer if they know (mostly from the agent) that the player has absolutely no interest in joining them. You might argue for this but my take is the club was informed that the player MIGHT agree the move to here, hence we spent nearly TWO windows and making several rounds of negotiations with Reims and the players agent, UNTIL PSG finally submit a bid. The player himself and the agent are cunts in the highest order. Fuck them all. We are lucky that the gamble on Isak is a win, or else we are in deep trouble.

Rice will be our Lampard. I am all for it.

Ake was like our Joelinton last season.

My take is it really depends on the status of the “4th - 6th” players we are targeting. The way Ashworth doing business is that he refuses to pay higher than the value in his mind unless under very special circumstances (Wood, Isak). He would rather keep the money and wait for opportunities in the market (Gordon case) or till the seller is willing to lower the asking price. Leverkusen is asking 80M + for Diaby which I really doubt Ashworth would approve the deal. However if they are willing to cut the asking price during the final hours, Ashworth would not hold back.
-
Oh yea same to me lol
-
Please no Diaby.

I prefer top 4 finish over the cup.

So after destroyed Man Utd and Man City in the same season, people asking for this poor lad to be sold. WTF
-
I don’t think Etikite is that suited to a wide forward role. I would definitely prefer Pedro even if he has no attitude problems.
-
I think we will get Gallagher, Pedro and one more defender for the coming summer, totally around 100M. Then unless there is a cut price deal available in the market (like Gordon), that would be it. Our strategy seems to try to balance between long term targets and unexpected lucrative deals
