  1. To think how much ManU have just spent on Hargreaves. On this kind of form Smith against let's not forget a very combative Bolton at their ground laid down the law early on (he talks a lot as well not totally silent like Parker) and never let go of his zone. Fergy had to let him go, but it looks like a mistake.
  2. I'm glad that it looks like he might provide some real competition to Colo & Taylro.. i thought with Faye gone the first 2 (by that i just mean Taylor) would get overlt comfortable.
  3. We'd do well to finish above them and they need new strikers and a DM or two far more than they do defenders. True but if he keeps using Ekoto and Dawson their really not going to scare anyone are they? Aye Chimbonda's far better than that Ekoto lad and Dawson......
  4. Fabricio: "That was really freaky when you handballed it twice. I've only ever given a penalty away once" Steven: "Aye but Gary Linekar said I deserve an Oscar"
  5. *cringe* I like how Taylor tends to act like he's the leader.. every time Colo does something Taylor slaps him gently in the face, like he's his father or something.. he used to do that to Habib too, but got found out quickly :colo:
  6. Taylor self-congratulatory? Never! I hear Taylor is going to wear a different squad number this week, as he is retiring his old one in honour of his performance. To be fair, it was a good save - that shot was going in! Should have been sent off then shouldn't he? The penalty was for the first hand ball. Then he's just a twat.
  7. lol @ your biggesy goal threat being Jermaine Jenas... who was pretty shit himself...
  8. They'll do better against Chelsea than people think. they are lightweight as fuck, that's their main problem.. lightweight and shit defenders. Long may it continue.
  9. Tbh he does only seem to get bummed by truly class players anyway like Drogba & Torres. Would rather we kept faye tbh
  10. Panic signings like Sibierski > Planned signings like Smith

    England

Didn't watch the match tonight but I would say we would like a better out fit if Owen where regularly fit. His movement allows the like sof Lampard, Gerrard & Beckham to make hollywood passes all day because he'll get on the end of one. Really have to play a goal scorer alongside Rooney, who is turning more & more like Dirk Kuyt by the day. At Man Utd he can be dirk Kuyt because they have Ronaldo. Lampard can be Lampard because he has Essien/Mikel alongside him. Gerrard can be Gerrard because he has Mascherano/Alonso alongside him or he has a free role, he's also got a predator to feed.
  12. Scoring goals wasn't the problem towards the end. Didn't Ferdinand, Terry & Cole all miss the last couple of matches?
  13. It's merked not mirked. Would rather have GOAT mouth as captain tbh... one of the few players to always put in top performances for England. Probably the only player to justify his hype in an England shirt these past 4 or so years.
  14. Defensively height is much more important than in attack. When you attack... the player really attacks the ball... but defending your whole mentality is different. cahill scores plenty with his head... but he wouldn't be marking John Terry.... Owen & Martins wont be of much help in that aspect.
  15. I was actually very impressed with Taylor gave nothing to Manure all day. Doesn't stop Charles from being poor.
  16. Aye both really going at it... Rio: something something for fucks sake.
  17. Oh he didn't play poorly, i must be player hating. I just have a vendetta against the lad and ignore what I see.
  18. Aye. Lost the ball early and gave Manure a chance, got nabbed by Rooney and nearly gave away a penalty. Far more impressed with Guthrie although he does remind me of Parker with the constant pirro(you know what i mean). Would be nice if him & Duff took a backseat this year (Duff preferrably sold).
  19. Steady on. The same back 5 that won the champions league, stronger back 5 than that which beat Barca. Scholes, Giggs, Rooney. Carrick started.
  20. Aye Ronaldo really helps Brown out defensively. The point that you're missing is that playing behind Ronaldo, he does not need to defend that much coz the winger would probably be busier helping his left back defend againt Ronaldo and very few left back would dare to overlap when playing against Ronaldo. He is ok as a CB (slightly better than Taylor) but dont rate him as a right back at all. Beye over Brown at RB anyday Yes but that logic is pretty dodgy. ON this basis Cacapa is better than Ferdinand because he has lots more pressure whilst Ferdinand can spend his time trying to find Ronaldo with 30 yard passes. Brown played in all Manure's big matches, both domestic & European and played well. Nowhere to hide their.. going forward he's mediocre but defensively he's solid, his primary position is CB and it shows.
