Yeh that’s crazy. 1. This isn’t 2008 anymore. You need 18 genuine first team options. We can’t afford that so we need to be smarter in the transfer market. Ramsey, Elanga and you can argue Wissa fees should sign us 4-5 players. 2. Howe loves Burn. I’ve said it before - Howe has never dropped Burn. If Burn must play consistently it has to be at CB. 3. Coaching. Lack of ability. 4. Great point. We need to get back to intensity. 5. Agree non performers - consistently - need benching. When a lad gets to Joelinton status, Howe struggles to drop them.

I keep saying I prefer Schar - Burn to Thiaw - Botman. We just seem more rugged. I think it’s Botman primarily. Burn is the more effective CB atm.

It’s bad. We lost our best player. Didn’t strengthen the areas of greatest need bar CB enough. We have all the issues of last season - including some people did t want to accept (I advocated for a player to rival Big Joe, a fullback) and we’ve lost our best player and lost that dimension to our game entirely.

Talk of Eddie losing his job this season is crazy to me personally.

He’s been making consistently poor decisions all season imo. We need to press. Dan Burn can’t play so many minutes at left back. Ramsey and Elanga look like v. bad signings. Woltemade doesn’t suit the system and I’m not seei nt adjustments.

We’ve been more secure with 3 at the back but that doesn’t working either. If we must start Burn play him CB. Biggest concern for me is the business in the summer.

A lot of bed wetting. The business in the window was sub standard and we are falling short. Howe needs a different approach. He’s earned himself 2 seasons to get it right imo.

Eddie loves Burn. It’s not height alone. If Dan Burn is fit Dan Burn has played for Eddie Howe.

Howe has never taken Burn off or out the team in a game of consequence.

Pressure in what way? The squad isn’t that good.

Howe’s always going to prefer a direct striker imo. Howe has had so much success with Wilson and Isak I can’t see him making such a drastic change in style. Wolte news to watch Kane play. Kane will try and break an offside trap a number of times a game. It gives defenders a different thing to consider.

Nah he’s not perfect for us. We are suited to a very ‘vertical’ striker. He makes zero runs in behind and that’s a major way in which we are setup to attack. Unless we change style he needs to change his game or his future here will be primarily as a second striker imo

He’s probably the only player we have who in those positions is composed and can rely on their ball striking/ technique in that situation

Tbf to Barnes he’s probably the best finisher at the club. He was second to Isak last season.

He’s a better finisher in every way. Better technique or composure but ball striking better movement.

They’ve got 3 strikers injured tbf. The equivalent of Isak, Etikite and Gakpo being injured.

A lot of wingers we overlooked in favour of Elanga mind. A few wingers still at their clubs we could’ve tempted with £55m.

Came across as a bit of a dig to me. Might not be but that was my reading.

Eddie said he doesn’t want possession for the sake of it or similar some weeks back. Sean Longstaff made a sly dig when he said something like Leeds do a lot more training on the ball than we do. The lack of ball retention and build up is by design. Even our most technical CMs play a lot of low percentage passes. Upside of this is we often run up the numbers when we win. When we have the ball we are trying to score. With proper intent.

I agree there is overall less sense of jeaopardy in each game. Which is to our benefit. The Dortmund results killed us the last time. We would've wanted 3-4 points, taken 2... got 0. We were done.
