Tiote got done by a piece of movement.
-
IMO once your chest gets to a certain size, you lose some range of movement. Same thing with lats on your back. Get in the way.
-
I've added some bulk myself. My lifts at the gym have come a long way. I know i've lost a bit of agility, will look to do some yoga very soon as a result.
-
Aye, Gouff works extremely hard. I probably want Gouff running a bit less tbh.
-
Agreed.
-
He's good enough, it's more about form and fitness. A few years ago Toure and Valencia looked strong physically. Muscular. Now both look a bit too top heavy.
-
Often we don't. Look at their first goal I think it was. Crossed from deep, nobody near him.
-
I bet he does. Modern fullbacks need a full developed game. Debuchy is a great example. Bombs forward, great little player but rarely caught out of position defensively. Santon needs to learn that aspect of the game or show some desire to get back into his position.
-
It's not like. We are a standoff-retain shape team. Not a press high and hard side. It's often why we start so poorly from KO and HT. Closing down is not a strength.
-
Some didn't want to admit it but Simpson was great against Metalist. Yesterday, Debuchy took it to another level and I love it. Great going forward but DEFENSIVELY SECURE. Total package.
-
He's a defender. His work for the 4th was great but it only par'd for his AWOL activity for their second. Look at the best fullbacks, Ashley Cole, Evra on this season's form. Solid defensively first, then they attack. I like my defenders to defend first. I'd take cleansheets every time over defenders scoring/assisting.

The teams on or above 30 are safe, saving a massive run of bad results. 38 points will be enough to stay up imo. That's 14 points from 11 games for Villa/Wigan. 8 for us and Wham.
-
They also run back to defend. He was out of position and didn't really attempt to get back.
-
Too deep for the second.
-
Didn't notice Gouff breaking his neck to stop the cross for the second. Where was Davide?
-
When he goes forward, he jogs back... slowly.
-
Tbf we were put out away to Man Utd this season. The FA Cup was a different story mind, time and time again we go out to weaker opposition and some lesser club gets to the final. Didn'y Gosling start in the league cup? Swansea played their best tam in every round.

Sympathise with Dyer like.
-
Taylor regardless.
-
Best move of the match. Worst decision of the match from one of ours.
-
Controlling possession is one thing. Having decent possession is another, more basic problem. Barely a period after the first goal where we had the better of the ball for even a couple minutes.
-
Danny Simpson has always been a good defender. Looked better going forward yesterday and looked very determined. Looked more "fresh" yesterday.
-
Promising debut. Natural overlap.
-
Even Graeme fucking Souness understood the concept of counter attacking threat.

Starting Shola turned out to be a good decision. Cisse wide? Poor. It never makes sense. Rather Jonas/Obertan and we saved Cisse as an impact sub if needed to change things. Biggest problem, sitting far too deep when we take a lead. Some pressure is to be expected, a couple good saves but Milan weren't so deep yesterday. They had 5-6 good chances in a 20 minute spell. It's not fucking good enough. You can't consistently win European KO matches like that. You look at our runs under SBR, heck even Souness. These are men that have been in European competitions and won them. As managers or players. Has Alan Pardew ever had a successful European cup run? Some managers have it. Like SAF, Mourinho straight away. Others learn in time so there's hope. But atm, he doesn't know what he's doing.
