Palace will get promoted. -
Exactly. His hands tangle with Samba then his legs give way wtf? he kicks the ball out of play and makes his foot touch (the word is touch) Friedal. Those 2 were blatent "simulations".

wow @ the diving by Gerrard. Should have received atleast 1 yellow card.

I agree with Shak. Had they had a player of Henry's calibre they would've have won either today or on Tuesday. They dont' have as many match-winners when you compare them to previous sides. Just look at the team that went unbeaten. You had... Henry Wiltord Bergkamp Pires Ljungberg Right now after Adebayour & Fab you are looking for Gallas to score.

Gilberto? Knackered & finished at this level imo. Maybe it's confidence or a lack of match sharpness but he reminds me of Campbell in his last season at Arsenal. Looks tired and spent. Wenger needs a bigger squad, and to use them as well. Fabregas is dead on his feet, the team as a whole is unable of winning their last 3/4 matches because they look tired. He should've used Diarra more and kept him. They need another CM. Arsene needs to play Eboue at rightback or send him our way. He is not a right midfielder at all. Can't cross, terrible decision making, poor final ball, can't shoot. Needs another top quality CB. Liverpool have Carragher, Agger, Skrtel and Hyppia, Arsenal pale in comparison. Clichy needs to step it up. His final ball is often poor and he has lapses of concentration. Adebayour is not Henry. They need RVP and Eduardo consistently fit to challenge or they should buy another striker. More than anything they need numbers. Defensively Manure are short of numbers but everywhere else, especially wide and in midfield they have real quality in depth. They have 4 central midfielders of a similar standard.

Delivery from set-pieces where very poor and that was the worst thing you could say about the performance. Not 1 decent corner from what I saw (the second half). Geremi should aim for the opposite corner flag, he rarely beat Kanu and whatshisface at the near post. Faye & Taylor weren't convincing either but a good result in the end. Very difficult team to break down.

FYP. Wenger has made mistakes but that article is ridiculous. IN a way i think Arsene is holding them back by not spending the cash but the article was tosh. Writer seemed like a L'Pool and didn't even know Rafa managed valencia not Seville.

No advantage in Yurop in playing at home last
The College Dropout replied to Rob W's topic in Football
This isn't really true in European latter stages, especially in England. -
I like the away goals rule but it shouldn't be enforced in Extra Time.
-
Anderson and Carrick are good players but I don't think you could consider them "match-winners". They may turn out to do so but it is as likely that Rio will score.
-
I reckon only Man Utd. can beat Chelsea or L'Pool in the CL. Barca aren't strong enough against those 2 but for some reason Barca might have too much for Manyoo.

This and the fact that Deco will need time to adapt to the EPL. He's also very weak.. weak players don't do well here.
-
Deco & if not him then it is Joao Moutinho
The College Dropout replied to Thespence's topic in Football
Deco wouldn't be able to adapt. He's too small and fragile. Not worth the £15m being banded about. -
Love how they've already got a banner proclaiming him so. I'd want to wait until he'd actually done something personally, maybe that's just me. Boro looked very good I must admit.

Gayer.

Top 20 underperformers of the 2007/08 Premier League season
The College Dropout replied to LooneyToonArmy's topic in Football
Aye he's shit. Smith should definitely be in the top 5. -
What a weak penalty decision.

Yes, it was Bobby that transformed our side. He was always going to sign a quick forward & direct winger (as the bids for Jeffers & Zenden prove) & build the teams attacks around Shearer. Our current squad is crap, I suggest you look at the league table if your not taking on board what is banded around here. I think you are underselling the value that Robert and Bellamy had to that side. How can you attribute it all down to SBR?? Surely by that measure you're saying we'd of had the same success had Zenden and Jeffers signed, even though both tunred out to be pap despite playing for decent managers. Ive had a look at the table, thanks and it only reiterates my point. Surely you arent actually suggesting that the position of the club in the league at the moment is actually an accurate assessment of the quality we have in our squad. Are you?? I think your undervaluing the squad & manager that Robert & Bellamy joined. As I have said SBR was going to get players in for his tactics, he understood what he had to do & the players he signed with the players we had it all worked out. As for Jeffers & Zenden we will never know will we. Of course the league is an accurate assessment there is no other way to asses the team. totally agree. Also the Premiership has improved since then. Speed, Lee, Dyer, Solano & Shearer very good players. We had the base of a good team.
-
Aye totally agree. Definetely a "big game player" whilst there are question marks over henry and Ronaldo (whether rightly or wrongly). He just never got the opportunities that a player of his calibre deserved. No doubt about Shearer.
-
Totally agree with Apisith. For Liverpool Gerrard always delivers when it matters something many great players have yet to achieve.
