  1. Aye. He only seems to be capable of a few types of goals. When he scored those goals for England I thought that had changed but it hasn't. his heading is his best attribute these days.
  2. I was never a fan of Parker but Barton isn't any better from what i've seen.
  3. Jenas looks like part of a very slick, athletic team at Spurs. I always rated him when he was here, though he still can't finish. I fully agree. The upper half of the Premiership has many players similar to him. The sheer athleticism of the Jenas' and Muntari's would run our lot ragged. Jenas isn't particularly tall nor muscular and is still a bit of a pansy but he'd physically dominate Butt & Emre.
  4. Aye he was. I was on his case early on... and we've bought worse players to replace him.
  5. As I said - players who are clearly mutton dressed as lamb. We are/have been seen as an easy pay day for very average players. This has to stop now because it's gone on for too long. Ever since Bobby left (in fact including his last year here) we've been singing players who have already peaked and are on the slide. Carr Cacapa Duff Butt Viduka Owen Where all good players in their days. 4 or 5 years ago the team would've been brilliant.
  6. Aye, in his day perhaps these passes reached the likes of cantona and RVN.
  7. I believe he wanted to go but his replacements have been poor. Same with Jenas. Got a lot of stick wanted to leave, we got good money, a good move in reality but replaced him with someone inferior (Parker). We do the same thing with Parker except his replacement spends his nights in jail.
  8. You have to be joking, (not re: loss of Africans), if you call that poor relative to the dross we watched under Allardyce. Course it was poor, the fact we tried passing it on the ground doesn't make it any better than under Allardyce. Aye, these players really are shit. You can tell they've been instructed to knock the ball about and pass the ball out from defence but they can't do it.
  9. I'm surprised by people being surprised by Boro lol. Their a decent team who play decent football... a sturdy defence.. a sturdy midfield they just lack fire power. A mid table team really... like us
  10. Carr hasn't looked too bad. Keep him, put Beye in the middle of defence and ave Faye in midfield. Even though Jenas and Parker got slated for their square passes at least they kept the ball... Butt was terrible.
  11. Aye he has a great engine, brilliant positioning, rarely looses the ball and is great in the tackle. But seriously, you're actually right.. it's sad that we depend on such a shit player. O'Neill went close there.
  12. Smith will end the goal drought today. I can feel it.
  13. Michael Owen? Spot on Shak... the Rooney love-in wont last forever though and he'll get crucified for the smallest thing when it happens.
  14. Also I knew S'Land where getting promoted for a few weeks/months. I had time to get used to it and I like the Mackems being in the Premiership every few years anyway. I was laughing @ half-time when L'Pool was in Istanbul (i even know where the fuckers won it) and was shocked when it was all over... terrible day.
  15. It might have been for you. Aye I don't live in the NE but nobody in the country could hide from the L'Pool wankfest that lasted many, MANY months. I hope L'Pool beat the Mackems today though.
  16. He usually sticks in two or three decent games in, then goes on a run of about 20 s**** ones lol. I don't know. Ramos has changed the first team somewhat since he's arrived but Jenas seems to have started & played well in most of the matches I've seen him in. The whole team played brilliantly against Arsenal but Jenas was really at the heart of things... got a goal and an assist and seemed to be involved with everything. Played well against Manure as well... not in a Parker way but by actually playing good football.
  17. Liverpool winning the CL was worse than the Mackems getting promoted and winning the Championship. Much worse.
  18. Spurs really deserved to beat Manure. Woodgate & Jenas both played superbly. Whenever I've seen Jenas recently he's been very impressive. Brilliant against Arsenal and he & Huddlestone dominated today.
  19. Aye... he still does blatant diving but he's cut most of it out, same with Drogba (can't say the same for Joe Cole). All he needs now is the medals before we can talk about an all-time great. What makes the Zidane's different from your Rivaldo's is scoring the goals in the big games and getting your team to the finals of big tournaments. Zidane has 3 world cup final goals.. led France to the final in 2006 and scored a magnificent winning goal in the Champions League Final. Man Utd. look very strong this year... Ronaldo has a good chance of having a huge impact on who wins the Champions League this season.
  20. Bramble and especially Jenas didn't seem to get in to much, if any trouble whilst they were here. They might not have been popular or good footballers but their friendship was probably a good thing. Bramble was involved in that dodgy incident in the London hotel room (that Dyer paid for) was he not? Yeah i think he was but he was innocent of anything so you can't use that against him. Him being friends with Dyer & Jenas was probably a good thing for the team.
