  1. It doesn’t drop off. That’s not how it works. Nick Pope signed a 4 year deal in 22. He costs 2.5m per year until 2026 in FFP language. Unless he signs a contract extension and then the remaining amount is extended over that duration. His £10m does not ‘drop off’.
  2. Amortisation continues until the player is sold, released. Chelsea were signing players and spreading the amortisation over 8 years from the start. Nah it’s limited to 5 from the start. But amortisation continues to spread over every new contract. Eg KDB still has an amortisation cost. It’s just very small now. The longer you keep a player and he renews contracts the less his book value.
  3. Transfers are amortised over the length of the contract. So we are still paying for Bruno (amortisation reduced due to contract extension), Burn etc. What reduced amortisation is extending contracts. So you need long serving players. And also academy grads because there’s no amortisation cost. We can’t do that. So we need to increase revenues.
  4. It’s a rolling 3 years. We are rolling most of our costs from the last period to this period.
  5. If we were comfortably compliant and not involved in their shenanigans - a lot of people on here - including me would be boasting about how smart we’ve operated in the market and mocking those involved in some of these farcical transfers. And that Anderson deal is farcicial at 35m. As it stands - I think we planned to sell Bruno. When that didn’t happen we wanted to sell Miggy and co but didn’t have enough interest. It’s a bit disappoint that the 30m for Minteh wasn’t enough. We couldn’t raise the funds in legit ways. This situation isn’t the worst in the world and we’ve gotten over it. But i did expect us to be a bit more savvy. Of the 6 clubs involved in this - half everyone knows has been mismanaged. Maybe 4. Us and Villa have qualified for the CL based on our spending. But the rules mean we probably won’t sustain it.
  6. It’s interesting that the richest clubs spend the most money on transfers? Im tapping out. Your argument doesn’t make much sense.
  7. I don’t understand the question. Forest signing Anderson for 10/35m is a PSR favour to us. We are yet to return the favour.
  8. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/mbappe-rooney-amp-co-the-most-expensive-teenagers-in-history/index/galerie/7290 Looks like he’s top 25 is wor Minteh.
  9. Aye and he wouldn’t get much game time anyway. This is why clubs let the likes of Bruno join us or Paqueta join West Ham. Too expensive to gamble - let the midtable team take the risk. If he proves himself grab yourself a Prem proven player for 2.5x. The likes of Dortmund wanted Minteh but not at the price mooted. So it was left with PL clubs and Lyon.
  10. Name the teenagers that have sold for more than Minteh
  11. I agree. But we don’t have the saleable assets that we want to sell. Im ok with selling Anderson. But id rather shift Longstaff and Miggy.
  12. Is this true? Levy wants to get Gordon for £40m next summer. He hates this shit the most. Spurs are the leagues PSR champions. They are in the best position to sweep up on fire sales. His greed will be his undoing.
  13. Aye a host of clubs were after Minteh and seemingly Lyon made the best offer. A better offer than Brighton but Minteh wasn’t interested. Minteh is a legit wonderkid I don’t think people realise that.
  14. It’s just PSR bullshit. It’s not a legitimate transfer lol. We are going to give them this money back by yhe close of the window.
  15. I don’t even think it’s that. We may have to sell to PSR champions like Spurs. Gordon to spurs for £70m next season because they are one of the few clubs that can spend that much money and we’ll be in an FFP hole. We’ve sold Minteh to midtable PSR champions. It’s a great deal for them.
  16. Yeh I do. It’s not a coincidence we’ve done business with Forest who are likely in a PSR hole for the next financial period themselves. Villa and Chelsea have been rubbing each other back and they are league position rivals. We don’t even compete with Forest for league position. The enemy of my enemy (PSR) is my friend.
  17. Aye the Bruno sale makes the most sense. And this goes back to Januarys lack of sales.
  18. Yeh it’s just us for this year. Everton, Chelsea, Villa, Leicester, Forest settled their issues a little earlier. Chelsea have been proactively closing their gaps for months. I think we owe Forest a favour in the next period mind.
  19. Any sensible club would want to sign players for cheap that could go onto be first team players. Brighton and the others are signing him because they think he’s the Potential to be a £60m winger. Thats the level of player we want to sign. Thats what Real Madrid do with Fede Valverde, Vinicius, Rodrygo, Odegaard. Thats Martinelli, Harvey Elliott, Garnacho etc. some won’t make the grade, some will need to be sold to fund other purchases but it’s perfectly sane squad building.
  20. The optics aren’t good for city. But they don’t care.
  21. Second point. It’s been 2.5 years now. And others are saying it and pushing it. There’s no indication our ownership have any desire to change the status quo or circumvent it. We might need to sell a couple purples and finish 11th before that happens.
  22. No need for the emotional outbursts and insults. You would talk to me nicely IRL so behave yourself behind that screen.
  23. I think the Bruno clause explains the January activity. As even if we finished in wurope we still would’ve needed to sell and we didn’t know at the time we could shift Minteh for £30m+. We’ve been fortunate with the Minteh situation. If not him we would’ve had to sell a purple.
  24. All the player wages for Hendrick and the like won’t save us the 10s of millions we need. We need a consistent revenue close to Spurs. We can’t do that ‘naturally’. until then we’ll have to sell players we don’t want to sell to be PSR compliant. me and @r0cafella have been debating if PIF see us as a proper key sportswaahing exercise. They don’t seem to be trying that hard to destroy the cartel rules like others in the league.
  25. Aye. Some people seem to think the first teenager window under new ownership ‘drops off’ now. It’s not the case as you’ve pointed out. there was a lot of ‘the club would never let this happen’ talk yesterday. But while the rules are the way they are this is the new normal.
