  1. Ok. And we'll add £20m to our costs for the next few years (wages and amortisation costs) for a player that will depreciate in value. Lad is rumoured to earn £120k and has 6 years left on his deal. What are we going to offer him? £150k for the same length? Unless we have some major new revenue streams coming in. Like... major. It doesn't make sense. But fairs.
  2. West Ham finances are perfectly fine. They don't need the money. He's arguably their best player. He has a contract until 2030 on megabucks. Unless something has changed - he's their main man for awhile. I don't see a desire to sell or a capacity to afford him. He's easily worth more than £60m to them too imo.
  3. Why would West Ham sell him for £60m?
  4. If we paid 12m for the GK - might just be that.
  5. Also doesn't make sense to me. Not a RW. Right footed. Already in the PL. 3 years left on the contract. Almost at peak value. I don't understand these links to him and Bowen, can only assume it's largely made up/based on light interest.
  6. I don't believe the Bowen link.
  7. ok i'm done - no more ribbing Kaka. He doesn't find it funny. Sorry for the handbags. I'm high off caffeine and haven't had a workout yet. Between projects at work so have extra time to kill.
  8. You rate nearly all the gazillion Nigerian lads in professional football. That's perfectly fine, it's even cute. Go Naija. But it's also funny and grounds for a little ribbing. Take it easy mate. I take all personal jibes on here in my stride and rarely retaliate in large part because - my life is enjoyable and fulfilling. I don't take any of this personally and neither should you. That's why I'm not brittle and don't resort to personal jibes. I post on here for fun. I'm having fun, seeing you rate all the Nigerian lads is fun-ny. When the fun stops, stop. Or do the work that earns you money. Spend time with your family or give a friend a call.
  9. I thought these would be the type of signings we would make rather than Harvey Barnes or even Lloyd Kelly. Which is probably a good thing. For our model to work we need relatively quick success / high revenues - so that is the plan.
  10. Where's the bitching and moaning? I find this attitude a bit funny - no malice or mockery, it's just funny. If a lad is Nigerian, you will like him a lot as a footballer. My life is probably more fulfilling and enjoyable than yours. Thank God.
  11. Zirkzee is probably Nigerian though. If Minteh was 1/4 Nigerian Kaka would be in tears. Makes no sense. Their academy is elite.
  12. I'm hanging my hat on this. But the actions don't indicate “I will not stop until Newcastle United become number one in world football”. I'm not with @Turnbull2000 but I hear some of your point regarding pace of change and aggression. It doesn't align totally. But that's one announcement from changing completely. We'll wait and see.
  13. Good that. Hmmm Tricky players are Solano - would play FB or CM not on the wing. Dyer - would probably play as an 8 in a 433 Bellamy ended his career at LW which makes sense Robert would play RW mostly Latter day Speed would be a tidy 6. We could actually do with that profile of player. An older 6 with great experience to fill in when needed. Latter day big Al would struggle as a lone 9 IMO. 3-5-2 or 3-4-3 would benefit big Al.
  14. If we have to abide by PSR as it is - we absolutely have to buy and sell.... including our very best players.
  15. I must say - I really like Miggy and his attitude is A1 and should be the standard. I've criticised him a lot on here because many have over-rated his ability. But objectively - he's given his all for us and he has more respect and support.
  16. Aye the costs are spread throughout the players new contracts. However, with us signing young players on cheapish wages - a lot of the amortisation savings from spreading contracts even further are offset by wage increases. Which is good and bad. The player doesn't become any more expensive for the club - but doesn't become anymore cheaper. I've shared the KDB chart loads for amortisation. It should be stickied to help people understand it.
  17. Aye. I remember Portugal tightening up in the KOs. Only conceded 1 goal in the KOs. England have looked vulnerable whenever opposition attacks.
  18. Greece weren’t lucky and they had a tough route to the final. Got through in a tough group with Spain and Portugal. They didn’t go to a single shoot out. beat Portugal twice in 90 minutes. Beat France in 90. And beat Czech in Extra Time.
  19. England have drawn or been behind in the 2 KO games so far. And conceded in both games. They haven’t controlled anything. It’s what makes me think they won’t do a France and win in this way. France at least are keeping clean sheets and having a measure of control. England are conceding first then finding a bit of magic.
  20. I guess we don’t. But it would be nice.
  21. One of my favourite RBs of the Premier League era - was a CB - Branislav Ivanovic.
  22. Handsome Italian to Arsenal. https://x.com/fabrizioromano/status/1809220851650207918?s=46
  23. Agreed. We need clarity on his contract situation though. And a new deal if necessary.
  24. How much would he go for with 1 good season under his belt? 60-70m? Maybe 80m?
