  1. Desire, urgency, competence. Not seen any of that since Staveley left. Ive maintained that PSR is a jumpable hurdle with desire urgency and competence. The fact they’ve not been able to overcome it at all is a skills problem.
  2. And sell ons are usually based on profit.
  3. The standard was over the length of the contract. So 6.
  4. He’s been here for 3 years pre-5 year amortisation max. he’ll have £30m left on the books.
  5. You said it - basic football operation.
  6. One off sales dont do as much for us a people think. We need a pipeline of sales. Youngsters and squad players. one off sales only helps FFP for 3 years and PSR for 1 year (I believe).
  7. Looked a very tekky player at the CWC I’d it’s the same bloke. No pace mind.
  8. More people are being honest about the progress. Almost 4 years no infrastructure confirmed.
  9. All of these were pre PSR or with clubs that needed actual cash not PSR headroom. And we also aren’t moving like a club looking to slow build.
  10. Liverpool interest wouldn’t have been out the blue. None of this is out the blue.
  11. I did think the Etikite transfer didn’t make much sense. But I dreamed. But if that’s the case wouldn’t we have told Liverpool to get Isak and leave us Hugo?
  12. I do. We sat down. Handshakes and signature 12/10 months ago and now you want to leave? That rarely happens. I can’t think of an example where that happens and a player kicks up a fuss (without having an agreement the signed player would leave the next year ala Suarez, Ronaldo etc) The fact that the last time terms were agreed was 3 years ago - does matter.
  13. It doesn’t really. We need recurring revenue. A pipeline of talent to sell. One time selling our best player doesn’t help us financially. The amortised costs need paying in year 3.
  14. If I’m a top performer at work. And someone I know has joined my company and is earning similar to me - when I know I’m far superior - I’m livid. We overplayed our hand with the 3 years left. If he stays I’m certain he gets a new contract. If he goes we’ve got 1 month to use the money. It’s been handled awfully. As has most things recently.
  15. Ok and now Isak has refused to travel. We will either pay him the money he deserves or sell him in August. Isak should have had a new contract same time as Gordon. We wouldn’t be in this position now.
  16. Elanga. A couple of years younger. Assume they now earn similar money. That’s taking the piss.
  17. Why would you expect him to stay? Are we a team that can match his ambition and ability?
  18. We don’t look a serious outfit. Lots of reason to leave. We’ve also probably given his young boy similar money to him. That’s disrespectful.
  19. He’s got handcuffs now - but they ain’t golden.
  20. No but then you increase the wage. You put players like Isak in golden handcuffs.
  21. Aye. So if he wants to leave or get a bumper contract - he seemingly needs to kick up a little fuss. Should’ve signed him up last season. If he had actually just signed a new contract we would be in a better position. He’s got time left on his contract sure but he’s on Elanga money in 2025.
