  1. Looking at Wissa’s career he would take a Saudi move in 12/24/36 months if it came up imo. Get our money back at the least. He would double his career savings in 12 months most likely.
  2. The forest and Lyon deals looked dodgy to me last summer. A lot of deals u combing Atleti or Juve look dodgy to me
  3. Saudi wanted Diaby prior to his move to Villa and got him 12 months later for the same price. He wasn’t a flop. Just not a major success. Duran is unprofessional but extremely talented. Chelsea would’ve taken him for £70m. His unprofessionalism is likely why they want him gone so soon. None of the Villa Saudi deals look dodgy to me.
  4. Diallo was a top performer in. The Champ at age 21. Scored 10+ goals. I wanted us to sign him then. Was clearly a talent
  5. Yeh i'm hoping we have smart ideas to keep the team together but also.... a sale seems most likely. I'm avoiding thinking about that until something moves. No point worrying about it. Excited by the prospect of Hugo and leaving it there.
  6. For me the evolution was always having ‘more football’ than Joelinton in the side. Funny with Etikite and JP (definitely JP, don’t know Hugo so much) very good at holding it uo and linking with direct balls to their throat. Joelinton brings that. Also a presence offensively and defensively at set pieces. I think we’ll see a lot of tactical flexibility from Howe with these options. Excited to see it.
  7. Honestly resigned myself to Hugo never joining us. really liked the kid early. Didn’t believe the rumours at first. we are going to be so interesting tactically. I wonder if we go 3 at the back permanently or 4231 or some type of Villa like hybrid
  8. Lots of great posts. Agree about Staveley in particular. Solis is interesting. He like Yasir has other priorities. Would love a PIF figure with influence to be the main driver.
  9. First time we didn't get Etikite, we were then getting JP, Wilson got injured, so we got the upgrade instead in Isak
  10. IS THIS HAPPENING??? WE GETTIING A BALLLLLLLLEERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
  11. They need buyers though. I like Jackson. Unless he goes on loan first, they won’t get a penny over £50m for him in Europe. Nobody is spending big money on Nkunku. Madueke played lots for them.
  12. Then the question is open.. whose baby is NUFC? Who is the most influential/powerful person that thinks about us first thing in the morning and last thing at night when the pressure is on? If it’s someone with the power and influence of Eales, I don’t think e become that force in Europe Yasir said. A mean a prime Spurs like force not RM/City etc.
  13. Club only subscription is bad for the PL product.
  14. Nobody’s said they haven’t. So I don’t understand your comment or problem. Reckon most people think they’ve done a 8 to 9 out of 10 job and we are discussing how it could be 10/10 going forward. Like I said I don’t get the defensiveness over PIF. If it was Isak and we kept talking about his lack of endurance or left foot I would get it. Isak is the best player we’ve had in decades concentrating on his weaknesses would be annoying let’s enjoy him. But these are owners and a suit of professionals. Yeh how can they do an even better job. I’m keen to discuss.
  15. You see I’m ok without a face (would like comms though). Charnley was previously our face. But we knew he had no real power or sway. We were Mike Ashley’s somewhat glamorous side piece that he was trying to sell for a lot of the time. We were Mike’s club. The 6 people he hired marched to his drum. It’s nearly always a shareholder but not always the majority one.
  16. This is the thing though. We can’t really assume anything. The idea I mentioned has seemingly been briefed by Spurs themselves and we know who makes that final decision. We don’t have the brief or know who really calls the shots. We are also in a much tighter FFP spot than Spurs too. Whi gives a duck? Someone posting in the ‘PIF and RB Sports & Media’ thread on NO forums. If you don’t want to talk about the owners, what they are and aren’t doing - why are you in the thread? This is THE corner of the internet to talk about Newcastle United ownership. This is the equivalent of a niche subreddit and someone saying ‘why are you talking about this very niche topic?’ Get out then! I try to keep the PIF comments to the relevant threads.
  17. I assume we have the other roles lined up but can't announce yet
  18. I'm less concerned with titles. I can't find what Ratcliffe's title is. I know he is a significant shareholder but obviously not a controlling one. But from a football perspective- it's his club. It's typically someone with real equity who is the key person. It's not and has never been Eales, I'm confident to say that much.
  19. It wasn't close though. It was 14 points. Which is why they threw in the towel completely; there was no danger of relegation at any point.
