He understands the position so well. He knows when to sit in and let a Bruno go forward. He makes those runs to support the striker well. When he actually gets the ball…
-
And teams have also been targeting the space in behind Trippier. So Trippier’s positioning has been much more conservative this season. He’s much deeper.
-
I don’t even think Burn is good defensively in open play. Brentford didn’t play with wingers today. They played with wingbacks which we managed to pin back for most of the game. Burn didn’t have a winger against him most of the match. Teams have marked him as a weak spot offensively and defensively. A lot of teams just leave him free when defending. He’s not going to do owt.

Agree with this fully. The goal should’ve stood. Wilson didn’t do enough for it to be a foul. The second penalty was an awful decision too.
-
Nah. Yep. He changes his body position to engineer the contact. If the ref hadn’t given it - VAR wouldn’t have overturned it. It’s smart play from Gordon and the ref bought it. He forced a decision and it went our way. But it wasn’t a pen. Ref was awful all game.

Im Not Being serious.

Thought it was a dive for the penalty tbh.
-
A lot of disrespect for our #3 top PL goalscorer.
-
Poor concentration and reading of the game. There’s a reason why he’s spent most of his career not at this level.
-
Yeh. But he was playing for Fulham not Newcastle.
-
How well coaches do people think we’ve looked this season?
-
I think a lot of foreign players don’t care about these PL clubs. Like Paqueta didn’t grow up wanting to play for West Ham. Who the tuck are West Ham?
-
Sometimes he still looks short of quality. Like he has a lot of attributes. Fast. 2 footed. Aggressive. But lacking that special something. Saying that he has looked goood this season undoubtedly. And has contributed a lot. His position is jailed and I’m most confident about him of all our wide players.
-
I don’t think Barnes is totally a Howe style player. I don’t think his work off the ball is particularly impressive defensively.
-
Agree with that. I was kinda hoping we would go 4231 Isak on for Anderson. Hall on for Burn.
-
Tactically I didn’t like how wide our wingers were. They did some decent work there at times. But Barnes always struck me as the type of player you try and get to his main spots so he can have 3-4 shots a game. Did he have a shot all game?
-
Only half watched the game. Saw at least one attack break down as soon as Burn got on the ball. And saw him make a good covering tackle at the end.
-
We were pap but Brentford were papper.
-
Sancho isn't an Eddie style player.
-
Interesting quotes. I expect Howe to make few changes.
-
Fairs mate. Just holding my hands up that i don't know much about them tbh
-
Fair. I've only seen 1 video about them and it painted them in a totally negative light. If that's not the case then fair enough.
-
777? The guys with no money of their own? With no track record of successfully operating football clubs? The guys who said every Sevilla player is up for sale? That 777? Feel sorry for Everton. Moshiri had good intentions. These lot are scam artists.

Main reason.. apart from Liverpool.. we've not lost a match we (arguably) shouldn't lose. And the Liverpool collapse came with Tonali & isak off the pitch. Losing 3-0 to Brighton (a) & Man City - in isolation - isn't a sign to switch things up. -
