We know FFP is holding us back. So I don’t understand the constant links to the established PL players and English youngsters. They all come with premiums. I like Anderson but he was available 2 years ago for 7m. It would take about £40m to get him from Palace. We can’t do better for £40m abroad?

Aye. We don’t look to be addressing RW. Early in the window we were looking at 2x CMs that seems to have gone - maybe partially down to Anderson’s development over the summer. We’ve had some links over the whole back line. But most of these have been for youngsters who probably don’t start.

True aye. But how much of that was down to Pep falling out with Cancelo. If there are no defensive outgoings at City + Gvardiol will he replicate those minutes and get more? I hope he does. He seems to have the talent.

I don’t think Pep is a great example here. He’s been at City for 5 years and has brought through 1 Academy graduate. Who is a generational talent and still not a main man in the side. At least when he was 19/20 he got 1700 minutes. Cole Palmer is 21 and still barely getting a kick. All the smart city lads are leaving at 20 like Lavia and co. Pep is not giving them minutes.

Their FFP ceiling is high and Todd seems to have long pockets. They have £200m+ worth of academy talent to sell and a conveyor belt of more. A lot of the players they’ve bought they can sell-on too. Yes the squad building is messy. But the Disasi transfer has some logic behind it.

Aye. Clearly if we could sign Sadio Mane, Mbappe and the like we would. But FFP doesn’t allow for that.

I’m assuming we’ll sign Tino and another defender. I stil think we’d be be 2 quality outfield players away from outright being better than the likes of Spurs. @Cf the better the best teams. The more points will be required. There was a season some to go ago the top 6 has their own league and Man U finished 6th on 69 points. Arsenal 5th on 75 points. Everton back in 7th with 61 points. Massive drop off from there. The good teams slayed the league. This year we’ll have like 9 bad teams. Possibly 8/9 great ones.

If he stays and gets 2000+ minutes that’s great. But another season under 1000 minutes and his career is being mismanaged. The ends justify the means. If he gets loaned out. Comes back and is relied upon for minutes and performances. Great. But staying and wasting his career is not it.

Aye. I’d take 7th too. I think people are a little quick to discount Spurs. A good manager, keep Kane, get Son, Maddison and Kulu performing with no European football. That’s a top 6 team. Even if they sold Kane. An attack of Richarlison, Son, Kulu and Maddison should finish top 6 without European football. But splitting the old top 6 again + Europe would be a good season. 4th is another miracle imo. Above target. 5th absolutely tremendous. Above target. 6th excellent. Just above target. 7th good. On target. 8th with a good CL run is still arguably par. Only criticism is that it would mean a Villa or someone finished above us. But they haven’t had to play CL football. 9th I would be disappointed. bur I can see how that happens. 10th or worse and Eddie’s job May be on the line. Unfortunately.

We’ve not attacked the transfer market like we need to 4 again - so far.

I’d be delighted with 75 points. With CL football I’d be delighted with 70 points.
