  1. The new CL format is way better than the old one - sorry. City & PSG is a must win for both teams. The loser is in danger of going out or having a very tough tie in the play-off. Real also in jeapardy. Praying Villa end up in the play-offs. And that they get through. I think that does them in for the top 5. Celtic at home is a banker though.
  2. Champ is having a mare. Going to keep swinging.
  3. I do believe clubs actively ‘shop’ certain players. And obviously agents do too. If we weren’t going to renew him, it would be in everyone’s best interests to find him a club asap. again love the bloke and happy that he’s here. But financially I think we should’ve moved him on.
  4. Bournemouth press the 6 aggressively. Either tactical or players deciding themselves, Bruno came deep to start play. People can say Bruno holds the ball for too long but he's better under pressure than Tonali. If Bruno can evade a press we immediately have a numerical advantage,
  5. And also.. even I get tired of repeating the same things.
  6. Low wages - fairly high revenue.
  7. THE OWNERS ARE DOING EVERYTHING THEY CAN.
  8. If we aren’t going to replace Almiron then I reckon Howe might want him to stay. Howe probably think this squad has a fighting chance of qualifying for CL or Europa. Losing squad players that will contribute isn’t going to help unless they are replaced. We did it with Shelvey mind. We were fortunate we didn’t have any major injuries until Willock near the very end.
  9. Similar to Miley where athleticism isn’t a strength with Mainoo. Doesn’t know the game/position well enough to compensate yet. Still has a lot to develop physically too.
  10. Also need more players capable of playing CB. Different profiles for the wide CB roles too. From what I've seen De Ligt and Maguire might be your best CBs atm but neither is a wide CB (definitely not Maguire). Conte found workarounds though. He often played Azpi at RCB and a converted winger at RWB (Moses) so in essence a RB and RM squad profile wise. Tuchel was fortunate to have fullbacks that were also natural wingbacks. And both managers had a prime Kante which might've been the most important aspect.
  11. Amorim could be a great coach. But it's a big decision and a summer move imo. Liverpool had the right idea, they didn't want to commit the first team squad to playing a back 5 which is a calculated decision. There's benefits to Man U to going against that but they actually need to give him the squad to make it happen. Giving him the job but an unsuitable squad may irrevocably damage his standing and reputation similar to Rangnick. Similar happened with Emery at Arsenal. He wasn't even that bad but he lost the confidence of the squad and fans and he was done.
  12. Wages in Spain (outside the big 3) are way lower than the PL anyway. Real already have the highest (i think) wage bill in Europe. The cap is club specific based. Barcelona continue to sign everyone anyway. PFA already beat it in football league. The precedent is set, it's a non-starter. It's a shit idea anyway. If revenues aren't capped, why should salaries be capped? Any kind of anchoring or squad cost metric is a soft cap and better imo. The idea of salary caps is an American import. Elite American sports are all cartels to the benefit of billionaire owners.
  13. I thought we should've cashed in on Big Joe. Love the bloke though.
  14. La Liga has a salary cap funnily enough. It also entrenches the status quo. Real should win La Liga more often than they do - their salary cap is close to 2x second place iirc. Although Barca max theirs and beyond and Real don't.
  15. Believe salary cap idea was defeated in the football league by the PFA. Salary cap is a crazy idea anyway imo. The revenue to player cost and transfer idea is a soft version of a salary cap and a better idea for sustainability. I prefer the anchoring idea where if owners want to go over a certain limit of their revenue - they need to have funds proven. And an upper limit for everyone if you can prove the funds are there.
  16. Mate - like wtf was that? We were bad but Bournemouth were unreal
  17. Unreal how fresh and sharp they’ve been. We’ve been sloppy.
  18. Honestly 1-4 is fair from the little I’ve seen. Bournemouth looking like they are on performance enhancing drugs.
  19. Steroids. I dunno. We’ve been brilliant recently. But today’s been a horror show.
  20. We’ve been shit. kluivert finishes the game. Hatty.
  21. 12 goals in his last 75 appearances in all comps.
  22. The emirates level deal we could arguably do now. That deal was done almost 20 years ago.the stadium. Man U is a bad team example. The brand is too strong. They are the LA Lakers of the PL. they’ve been poor for the last 2 years and have achieved more than us.
