Ayr found this offensive. KK's team much better and more entertaining. Mitro missed a great chance but he's been great. Bossed Wolves. Great performance.

I must be missing a lot with Marcelo tbh. Need to see more because when I do see him I'm just meh. Mental that, nee offence. He can be got at defensively because he gets forward so much but he's often the best player on the pitch in big CL games IMO Aye and this is because you simply don't get fullbacks as good at attacking as Marcelo. It's not just passing and crossing, he's genuinely as talented a footballer as you'll come across. First touch, vision, creativity. I always felt Alves was unstoppable coming onto the ball from deep. But when he was already pushed on and receiving the ball to feet. He'd need to find another way to make a good run or something. Marcelo can damage you in any way. I agree with Triggs. Lahm was a top notch but solid player. Marcelo and Alves would regularly be far more influential. If Lahm played elsewhere it would be as a CM, great technically but intelligently tidying things up. Marcelo would be a number 10 pulling the strings, being creative. which is a lot more fun imo.

Dwight Gayle (now playing for Hibernian)

Palace have never been a genuinely attacking side. Their best period in the PL was 6-12 months with Pards. Bit of magic FC. -
I'm not arsed at all. If it's not this season. It will come the following season or 2.

Aye. Out the top 20. Kane did save me from a massive falloff. Had I made him captain it would've been a very decent week. Premium players WILL deliver. It's the timing of it.
-
The average thunderbastard I would agree. But a full on volley from that distance... nah for everyone that went that's going to live long in the memory. Arsenal will score many goals like that.
-
Didn’t make a transfer this week. If Sterling doesn’t have a big second half i’ll be in freefall. City haven’t kept a clean sheet in ages. Laporte’s got to go.
-
Marcelo’s easily the best attacking fullback I’ve ever seen. Him and Alves. He genuinely struggles to defend against top players although he rarely has someone covering him in LM/LW. He’s been a decisive player in Real’s golden era imo. Him, Ramos, Modric, Ronaldo and Benzema.

The ‘balanced’ left back is hard to find. Cole, Lahm etc. And although Cole was good going forward he wasn’t close to a Marcelo. Players like Marcelo and Lahm would’ve come played in midfield for loads of teams. Lahm did iirc. I agree with the person that said PD suits oursystem which is defensive first.
-
Bernard and Jose. Wasn’t a fan of Santon at all. I don’t think this is true. In 15 years we’ve had 2 better leftbacks than PD. Says more about our signing policy than Dummett tbh. I've always maintained he's not a bad defender, but he's a liability to our passing game. I’m sure this contributes massively. But Man City and Man Utd play former central midfielders and wingers at left back often. I don’t think it’s that easy to find them.

Nope keeping my powder dry. Wanted to Captain Kane but i've lost confidence in the lad so it's going to Sterling. Depending on results i'm liable to return to Hazard in midfield and Lacazette in attack for next game week.

I wouldn't make him captain. Reckon he'll be on the bench and get a run out. I suspect a 15 minute run out rather than a 30 minute one. I need a budget defender. Manquillo is tempting.

Are people taking hits to do double transfers?

The Managerial Merry Go Round™ - Keith Andrews appointed at Brentford

Absolutely true. But for me the reason ManU is so prestigious is because of a manager who stayed till the end and built it into a giant. So it would be weird and ironic for Poch to jump from what looks like the start of a new era in footy to go to ManU. He'd be walking away from the exact thing ManU was built on. The exact thing that now has ManU as one of the biggest clubs. Spurs are going places, it seems. He could be a legend there. Msn Utd were the second or third most successful English club in history before Ferguson arrived. Let's not pretend otherwise. -

Because of the stadium, in the short term, I'm not sure they do. They'll not splash the cash to bridge ghe gap between them and Liverpool. In 5 years time, aye they'll be setup strongly but stilll behind at least 4 other clubs in the division although a bit closer. -
Danilo was not a good signing. Worst first team (squad) player in that Real squad.
-
Ironically I think he needs to find a club like ours to be able to reinvent himself. Same

Essien and Ballack are the only other two I remember Tiago too. Tiago was still playing in CL finals up until a couple years ago iirc. Great player.

Is man united a better opportunity than Real Madrid? I think maybe so. Lower expectations. Maybe more transfer funds. Likely more patience. -

No chance imo. They’ll go for the hyped young manager of the time. Someone forward thinking. -

Zidane wasn’t impressive would castilla. Zidane was the right man for the right club at the right time. Enrique wasn’t impressive with barca B or Roma. Rijkaard got relegated in Holland although he did a good job for the Netherlands. Hasn’t done much since Barcelona but he did a great job there. I won’t say it’s a bad appointment. It could work out -

I don’t think Zizou’s time at castilla was particularly impressive. Likewise Enrique did nowt special before joining Barca to some success. It can work out. PL clubs are so risk averse. -

I’m not so quick to call Solskjaer a crap manager due to one bad job. But I’m excited by the possibility of more failure.
