  1. Nah got a lot of quality in that team. Good in every department imo with a bit of depth too. I like Brendan but I don’t get this move for Leicester. Their problem from what I could tell is boring, slow build up play when they would make a great counter attacking team. Brendan’s speciality is the slow possession side.
  2. So Jonjo Shelvey on a good day then? Looked superb on MOTD spraying it about.
  3. They have had the most shots of any Premier League side in 2019 apparently. I don’t buy the negative tag. Especially not when I’ve watched them at Spurs and at Liverpool just seems their fans have latched onto a lazy opinion of him and all the sheep fans have followed because they arn’t winning the league anymore :'( It's all very slow in the build up.
  4. Was it Cardiff? On at HT, terrribke performance and sent off. Didn’t want to be here. I was done with the lad. But In this recent run he’s been fantastic. As many goals and assists as Shelvey managed all of last season. The B2B role suits him much more. Despite his need for a break ever 70 minutes he has a fantastic engine. With him and Longstaff in the side with minimal games in their legs. We are much more dynamic compared to other teams in midfield. Of course they are way better but Liverpool have shown how a hard working, mobile, strong midfield that can get the ball forward at pace can succeed even with a lack of guile.
  5. Bigger issue was that awful camera angle at Wembley. Penalties are the rewards for a shit 0-0 final. But the angle ruined it.
  6. I TOOK OUT DEULOFEU FOR ALMIRON THIS WEEK. Absolutely burnt me. Had him for 4 weeks. Take him out, hat trick and assist. Wow. I also captained Rondon which was a saving grace. But imagine both Deu and Rondon. Would’ve been a 90+ point week when 50 would be a good score. Oh well. Green arrows anyway.
  7. For the type of player he is he has to accept that it comes with the territory. Needs to stop diving and expecting the ref to give him everything and getting caught up in all that. Think it actually throws him off his game. Should just focus on what he's doing and let the ref make the calls. Almost seems as though he goes down because he's scared his move won't come off or something, like he's given up in his mind already. Such a strange player. Think he could be so much better with a more positive mindset. Looks for excuses so much. Awful take. Pace and power is the cornerstone of Zaha’s game. Both attributes can be diminished rapidly through injury. He’s constantly targeted for a kicking. At least 3 times a game, opponents often look to intentionally foul/hurt him to get him off his game. Not enough of these challenges are punished with yellow cards. He’s well within his rights to moan at refs. If he played for a bigger club he would be better protected.
  8. I don’t think it’s conclusive either way. Fuck VAR.
  9. Agreed. Something like 35 players 22 and over on a clubs books. Anymore and they must be released.
  10. Chelsea and Arsenal are shambles at boardroom level. Arsenal I don’t think have the funds. Atleti have begun to get their money right I believe. No reason to join either unless Chelsea go back to splashing the cash
  11. Terrible absolutely terrible. VAR is awful when used in this way.
  12. I don’t think Shelvey comes straight back in at all.
  13. Hayden and Longstaff have played well and should keep their shirts imo. They’re also the most athletic CMs we have and have allowe us to press higher up the pitch and to be more aggressive. Shelvey would be the last of the midfield options based on performances this season.
  14. I enjoy the guardians football weekly. I found the chubby dude on the football ramble unbearable.
  15. This is the weird thing about VAR. Yes he was offside but the issue is moreso that he interferred by deliberately moving into the GKs path as a foul. The offside is so minimal that it’s not worth reviewing imo. We are turning offside and VAR into goal line technology, a hard fact. I think it should only be used for the most egregious of decisions. The Mane offside the other week for example. If you need a ruler or to see it several times to be sure - forget it man. It was actually a foul though.
  16. Rooney’s played in 3 CL finals. Was in a team that won the PL 4 years straight, maybe more. Rooney played in better teams than Aguero for sure. Different types of players though. Overall I may have Rooney higher just due to his versatility. I don’t think Aguero starts in a few of those Man U sides. Although i’d take a 30 y/o Aguero over a 28 y/o Rooney any day. I suspect I’d take a 32 y/o Aguero too. And Aguero’s been playing a long time himself with lots of muscle injuries.
  17. Disagree with this. Since Pep’s joined, especially the last two years his all round game has improved. Especially when not in possession. He’s able to play the lone role much better. Comfortably above RVN for me. A player that couldn’t adapt to a changing team. A player that was not part of any great Man United team. Technically, Aguero’s a better player than Salah too. Salah is more athletic but that’s it. Salah has 1 more assist than Aguero and same amount of goals in many more minutes.
  18. Yeah, you've said. Lots. It's still a foul. It's an absolute bullshit decision, yet again. Every single match. Refereeing decisions can go against you. Stuff like fouls on defenders and goalkeepers are fatal. This one isn’t 100% a foul. Even Rafa doesn’t think it’s a foul. In these instances you need your player to be strong and only be beaten by a massive foul/incident. Some arms on him. No body. No push. Boly wanted it more and he did so fair enough imo.
  19. It was weak and that’s why it wasn’t given as a foul. I don’t think Boly pins him in. He challenges for the ball pretty fairly, if that was a defender jumping it’s nowhere near a foul. He doesn’t barge into Dubravka. Also Dubravka doesn’t get anywhere near the ball. It’s weak. You hope it’s a foul but eve with VAR I reckon it stands.
  20. I’ve had Sane the last 2 GW as my only City player. Need less to say I’m out into the 400k mark overall. 3 points off the bench though. 3 to play tonight. Should land around 63 points worst case scenario. If Rondon and Jimenez get a few between them it could be a great week. With Doherty at the back even a 0-0 wouldn’t be a bad result.
  21. Mike Dean is so awful that I like him now. Hasn’t ruined a game in awhile iirc too. So the antics are just kinda funny.
  22. Best ever? No. But he's a tad under-rated and he's been getting better year-on-year. Good chance he gets to 200 PL goals if he sticks around for a couple more years. Might even do it by the end of next season. With these hat-tricks I think he has a decent chance of getting the player of the season award.
  23. Tielemans is better than anything they have in the middle imo. Could see them going for him in the summer. Its only one match to be fair. He was apparently awful at Monaco. Aye from today you can see he has talent technically, decent physically. Let’s see if he can put it all together consistently. I always thought Jermaine Jenas damn near had it all to be a top player. But he didn’t have the mentality. Played it too safe too much. Son game set and match.
  24. Agreed but those are massive differences. Time will tell if Tielemans is better than Drinkwater. But they’ve got themselves a good footballing side with technical players damn near everywhere.
