Scoring is the hardest thing to do in football tbf. I do think GK's are becoming increasingly scrutinised. Doesn't help that few of them are pundits.
-
Disappointed in him.
-
Pogba was MOTM imo.
-
Leicester all tippy tappy. Rarely look to get Kelechi on the ball.
-
Full on Sports Direct Boycott. Protests outside. Love it.

I’m glad people are finally really ready to go at Ashley. If we had the Ashley out campaign instead of Pardew out, we would be in a better position

Dwight Gayle (now playing for Hibernian)

A shame he's leaving imo. I don't think Rondon is an upgrade. Hope he does well. Seems a nice lad. -
But you're doing it because you have no money but I'm not sure why they're doing it. They're very strong financially. Based on nothing - feels like Fergie era "no value in the market" and they keep winning. Hazard is over-priced. Feel like they felt Allison was over-priced. Courtois they'll get for sensibleish money. Might be saving their chips for a Neymar move next season or the emergence of another Mbappe.

How often do players legs suddenly just "go"? It's an upgrade on Paulinho on paper. Feel like Real have made a profit on transfers for a number of years in a row. Maybe it isn't true but it feels like they haven't splashed the major cash in some time. They're doing a good job of picking up really talented youngsters. That Brazilian lad looks a baller.

Tactically I don’t think he’s evolved enough. And the other areas of his management haven’t picked up the slack.

The Madrid experience was a turning point. He laid the framework for the Golden Era much like he did for Chelsea. But it was ugly, fraught and joyless at the end. Very sour. It als established the burn out theme we first saw at achelsea.

Leicester played some nice stuff under Puel.
-
He looks fat but his stamina is excellent. Good fitness record too.

Man Utd should’ve been in for VVD. Time was - Man Utd used to buy the best players in the league. Cole. Yorke. Cantona. Ferdinand. Carrick. Berbatov. Rooney. They’ve mostly stopped doing that.

Nah, it’s clubs like ours with owners like ours that that need to crash and burn and let clubs like Wolves who have ambition and want to do more than just survive take our place and the place of other clubs that stink the league out like us. Aye. We are just a brand name and a big stadium.

i think Richarlison could be a top player. But PL to PL moves are bad value for money. To bridge the gap clubs must gamble on youth and untested foreigners. I’d love to be doing what Everton are doing. Just the ambition.

I don't actually think he's taking money out of the club, not in a direct way anyway. In the past it was relatively easy for a club like Newcastle to just be kept ticking over in mid table mediocrity, that was the sweet spot for him in terms of risk/cost vs. reward. That is now much more difficult and expensive to do and I think he now sees the 'sweet spot' as yo-yoing between the Premier League and Championship. In the past his model was to do just enough to stay in the Premier League, saving a pot of money to spend in January if/when relegation looks possible. I think he's now intentionally running the club as yo-yo club, he will not spend while in the Premier League but will save a pot of money to spend on ensuring we get back first time if/when we are relegated. Can't see this being true, considering we miss out on £50-60m of revenue (taking into account the 1st parachute payment) if we get relegated. Ashley absolutely would take 17th each season but his willingness to throw money at the problem (in 2013 and 2016) if we are in trouble shows he doesn't want to get relegated in my mind. I think things have changed since January 2016 he spent then and it didn't work. In January we looked in desperate trouble and he wouldn't spend. Of course he wants us to stay up, but he will not gamble on it as he has in the past. He will only sanction significant spending to get us promoted. That is clearly what is happening. Excellent post. We spent big the last few times we looked in relegation trouble except last season. What your saying is highly plausible. M

The Everton leadership just don’t know what they’re doing. Liverpool’s ownership got it wrong for awhile. But the decision to hire Klopp and the signings since have been tremendous.
-
That is very true. Those other clubs are trying their hardest to keep up. Killing their own leagues while they’re at it.

Major American sports have 1 huge difference it's called the salary cap so you'll get Franchise stars earning mega millions and players on same team earning 250k a year. When Beckham played for the galaxy there were lads in the same 11 as him earning 50 to 60k a year less in than Beckham earned in a week So yes the sports have huge money but there's parity with the collegiste and draft system which gives all teams some sense of hope There's no hope in football now and without hope us fans have nothing Way to miss the point. I said nothing about competitiveness. Simply the game will continue to get richer. And the gap will continue to grow.
-
I’m not even sure it makes sense at all. They already have Bale. Isco. Asensio. Lucas. Ceballos. Vinicius. And James Rodriguez potentially.
-
I don even think it’s a bubble. Major American sports generate tons of revenue. There’s still room for growth. A decade in growth of th sport and we’ve stagnated and gone backwards.
-
That’s not good enough considering who has left.
-
PL is going to be so uncompetitive. We had this discussion last season. Best players outside the top 6. Shaqiri - Liverpool Mahrez - City Zaha - wants to leave Then it’s a 31 year old Vardy imo. Beyond that there’s not much out there.
