  1. Just three dreadful individual mistakes away. Conte has coached very well over the two legs More than individual mistakes I think this side is just a bit short in key areas
  2. Chelsea of last season I would fancy against these. Basically a top performing CB and ST away. Costas been a massive miss.
  3. Marcelo is waaaaaaay better than Luis man. It’s not even close. Forget Luis. Marcelo is better than Roberto Carlos was. Marcelo is an all-time great.
  4. They've only conceded 7 in 7 since Lambert came in, and two of them were against Man City, but have only scored 5 in 7. So tbh your statement is the complete opposite to the truth. Could be said of most of his posts. I'm convinced he's a bot. Stoke have conceded the second highest amount of goals in the PL. They've only managed to stem the flow by being very defensive and now they can't score goals. If they attack teams they'll be very vulnerable because their defence is poor.
  5. Not sure I agree. Atletico got to 2 CL finals with A mid 30’s Tiago as a valuable squad player. A regular in one run too.
  6. Man Utd used to run deep in the CL with the likes of Phil Neville, Park, Welbeck, Fletcher, Butt etc. hard working players who are tactically good and physically strong but with perhaps limited ability has always had a role at Man Utd. Difference is they helped the best players to shine. Lukaku did this thing tonight and continues to improve.... the rest? Awful.
  7. Cisse: Banana shot Swansea First Chelsea goal
  8. Comparing Pogba to Essien ffs. I've nee idea what Pogba is meant to be good at but it certainly isn't in the spirit of Michael Essien. Tbf I don't think Sanchez was ever world class either. He went to an elite club, while he was good, very good they felt he could be improved on and they did. While signing someone like-for-like almost. For a player of his type, Bale is like my barometer and I would take Bale over Sanchez.
  9. The comment after the first leg were insane. No away goal is suicide at this level. I'd prefer 0-0 at home to away every time. Reminds me of the 'Job done' narrative when Chelsea drew 0-0 at the Nou Camp in 2009. The lack of knowledge they had about what Barca were regularly doing to teams home or away at that time was something to behold, the absolute height of cluelessness. That game they should've won by a couple goals at home tbf Chelsea. A better example is when Chelsea drew 0-0 at the Calderon away from home in the semi's. "Job done". Went out 2-2 at home.
  10. Agree with this somewhat. 0-0 first leg away from home is not a good result as the rules stand. Any type of score draw becomes a defeat. 1-0 up is just as precarious as 0-0.
  11. It would be good to have some proper competition. It's not good that he's THIS important to the side.
  12. I really enjoyed Demba man. He took too much stick here. Great mix of scrappy goals and peaches. Loved a tussle with a defender. Also responsible for one of my favourite non-NUFC moments - the slip.
  13. Stoke are down imo. Can’t defend for shit. They have goals in them but not loads.
  14. ‘Many people agreed’ is a stretch. I would say 30% tops suggested he was a significant miss. Some even said Manquillo was better or on par with PD. I agree that he’s not gotten significantly better.
  15. Mahrez, Vardy, Gylfi (possibly although not really this season) and possibly Shaqiri. Can't think of too many attackers outside the top 6 as good as Zaha. Might be missing someone obvious Gylfi's a bit of a Ritchie isn't he. In open play he's not THAT good is he? Most of his goals and assists come from dead ball situations. It all counts like.
  16. He has struggled at times this season, tbf, but I believe Iwobi is a serious talent with the right attributes to be at the top, imo. It is frustrating how many of his Arsenal performances are spent floating on the periphery, though. He has the quality and physicality to be more direct and impactful. Arsenal syndrome. I want him to succeed but.... i'm not sure what he's meant to be good at myself. What kind of player is he? Reminds me of a shit Mesut Ozil. Good appreciation of space. Good touch. Not particularly fast or explosive but can move with the ball nicely.. then nothing.
  17. Mahrez, Vardy, Gylfi (possibly although not really this season) and possibly Shaqiri. Can't think of too many attackers outside the top 6 as good as Zaha. Might be missing someone obvious Aye you would have the lads at Leicester for sure. But after them.. yeah Zaha's pretty high up there. Even with them you would struggle to name 5 better. He would be in the dicussion for sure. Arnautovic on his day. Lanzini on his day.
  18. Zaha is far superior. The stats might be similar but Zaha is a menace for 90 minutes and plays like a talisman. He gets Palace up the pitch. Holds up the ball well. Wins a bunch of freekicks and penalties (goals scored from these aren't counted as assists anymore). Is progressive with his passing. In an old fashioned way he just rips fullbacks to pieces, they have to bring in the winger or CB for protection creating space for others. He's the type of player you need to watch for 90 minutes to perhaps understand the hype.
  19. Is Sanchez any good? Bournemouth absolutely have Spurs on the ropes. Should look to get a second here.
  20. The stadium thing is an aberration. It just does not look like a football stadium, it's too big for their fanbase currently, difficult to get a good atmosphere. Miles away from the pitch. It's horrendous.
  21. He hasn’t suddenly become quick. He’s always been fast when he gets going. A long sprint and I would fancy him against most players. It’s his turning which is slow and those first 5 yards he’s not great at. Each season he’s had in the first team that is exposed less and less. I’m assuming the positioning of his body has improved and he doesn’t turn 180 degrees so much.
  22. Whatever I think about how good he is. He makes a massive difference to our results. Yesterday he showed moments of real quality which is great to see. In the league he has 2 goals and 3 assists in 20 games starts. Clearly that’s not good enough and he needs to improve his effectiveness in front of goal. Even a 1 in 4 record would be great. That would put him in an Okazaki type return.
  23. He had a mare. Hopefully the jig is up for him in the PL.
