  1. Just looked at the last England squad. Stones Maguire Keane Cahill Jones Gomez If fit I reckon 4 of the first 5 go. Personally think Cahill, Gomez and Keane shouldn’t be going.
  2. Chelsea will most likely have zero interest in playing him regularly
  3. I just don't rate the other English CM's much either.
  4. Give it a break man. A lot of weird snobbery on here about the way football fans look, talk and act. We are just pussy. Mike couldn't have done Rangers they way he's done us.
  5. Wilshere Henderson Dier Ox has been playing CM. Milner too. Yeah can certainly see Jonjo in the running.
  6. He was good towards the end of last season too. His record for Liverpool wasn't bad either. Have to look at himself and Woy
  7. I'm not sure there are 2 better English CB's than this lad. Certainly not the 3 or 4 we'll take to the WC.
  8. Is there a better passer of the ball in the likely England midfield? Not for me there isn't. No there isn't but being a midfielder is about much more than just passing. However, he should at least be in consideration. We aren't blessed in that position.
  9. Doesn't make it right. True but the fans have been wronged by the owners.
  10. After Shelvey he's about as effective a passer as Merino and certainly better than Hayden.
  11. I bet this helps jettison Gold & Sullivan out of their club. Nothing like fearing for your life to get things moving. I honestly feel if Ashley was even slightly concerned for his and his families safety, he would leave.
  12. A 3 for me. We'll need to crumble over the next couple of months to get relegated from here.
  13. If he fires Fulham to promotion. That's a £20m fee we'll get and not spend. His value must be increasing all the time. Happy for the lad to be playing and scoring. Bodes well for his world cup preparation as well.
  14. Been much better ever since Lascelles slapped him around a bit. Great captaining. But seriously, Diame's always shown he has more ability than a Hayden for example but also more likely to do silly things and didn't seem capable of performing for 90 minutes. He's sorted it out.
  15. Finding it hard to see us finishing below 3 of WBA, Soton, Stoke, West Ham & Palace. Overall 32 points from 30 games is a great position to be in. 6-7 points from 9 games, based on our current form seems attainable. Throughout the season we've trended better than that which gives me tremendous confidence.
  16. Arsenal shouldn’t finish under Spurs or Liverpool. Just on finances. 2 years in a row means Arsenal are doing something wrong. They’ve no right to win the league. But they should at least act like they’re trying.
  17. My source is the BBC (which doesn’t even mention modern era - simply CL) and overall I’m up to at least 8 lol.
  18. Ronaldo - aye Messi - aye Mandžukić- aye (wasn’t in the list but he definitely has) Ramos - aye Eto’o - aye (can only recall 1 though - against Arsenal) And another one. Apparently anyway.
  19. Ok my source is shakey. But 4 are correct. Not sure the other 2 I’ve got have 2 finals goals.
  20. Another topic. 5 players have scored in 2 CL finals or more in the modern era. Name em.
  21. that’s a recentish thing and he STILL by a distance able to influence results more than almost any other player ever. He doesn’t have the supreme physical tools he once had. In 2 years hes become the most devastating no. 9 we’ve ever seen. Always felt Henry struggled big time with losing pace. Many do. He’s 33 and only The greatest footballer of all time is definitively ahead of him right now.
  22. Some will only appreciate Ronaldo when he’s retired. No need to bring Messi up every single time we want to marvel at his achievements and ability. It’s like the tedium I find of debating Kane and Shearer. Kane’s the man, I don’t care about the rest. It might be weird but I really enjoy seeing an older player with diminishing powers continue to kill it. Some latter Big Al and Drogba days spring to mind and Ronny last year. Fucked off Bayern, Atleti and Juve while he’s physically in decline ffs. Being a declining force and scoring something like 8 goals from the CL QF’s onwards.
  23. I thought the skinny diving kid at Man Utd would be special but this good - for so long? Nope. Nowhere near. The Funniest thing about him now is how often he comes up trumps in big moments. Maybe 5, 6 years ago people would say he didn’t deliver enough in big moments. Now that’s what separates him from the chasing pack. He reminds me a bit of Schumacher. Did great things, everything at one team. Joined the biggest team historically who were in a bit of a lurch and brought them back to a new Golden Era. Not by himself but it wouldn’t have happened without him. When he leaves, Real will probably remain competitive but 3 in 4 years, 7 seasons in the SF’s? Without a Cristiano talent I don’t see it. Applaud his footballing greatness.
  24. Agreed. Of all the big clubs they’re the ones we could emulate with good owners. The others are historically bigger than ours or have people funding them. The last decade they’ve been canny and they’ve won 1 trophy to show for it. I’d like Kane to stay there and pickup meaningful silverware.
