Just been for a walk around the ground to get myself in the mood for tomorrow and because i'm a stupid old supertiscious twat and try and have a walk around the ground on a matchday dinnertime when we play midweek or the friday before because i did it before we played Barcelona in the CL in 1997 and we won!!! Anyhow, i digress, there are nice new signs everywhere including over the turnstiles. The turnstile signs for Level 7 Milburn say: Level 7 Family Enclosure and Sports Bar. What fucking Sports Bar?????????

Tiote was signed after we'd played both Man United and Aston Villa and came from nowhere ie no rumours etc. Sure Ben Arfa was a deadline day or after signing as well.

I'm dead excited to be fair. I think we're all being to bloody negative, we're playing West Ham not Barcelona. -

Krul Yanga Williamson Colo Dummett Sissoko Bigirimana Anita HBA Cisse Gouffran -
He's never used the too young arguement. He's given young uns a chance wherever he's been, giving Oxlade Chamberlain amongst others his debut at 16. I'd bring Williamson in though and play Mapou at Right Back instead of Debuchy.

Yip, he was one of a few who did well and was grafting.

He's a crock of shit. Simpson got loads of stick on here for his floaty crosses but at least he knew his limitations, could defend and quietly got on with the job.

I agree, i think we'll nick a draw but think the goal will come from a surprise scorer and their goal will be a pelanty. -
Downing and Henderson playing is kind of irrelevant... does that make them good signings? FWIW I don't believe what you've ascribed to me there, if you meant me. If Liverpool think they can afford to risk £30m flops then that's fair enough, I'll laugh at the individual signings but they're entitled to whatever strategy they can support. I think they're good players like.

1 - 1 DRAW I said to my mate that i think we'll frustrate them and nick something. He said he thinks it will be frustrating and someone will get nicked. -
Creativity is not just the job of the midfield though. If they don't have forwards making runs and creating space they can't create chances for the forwards.

The fact that Campbell has been allowed to go out on loan to Carlisle until January suggests we either have someone lined up or Remy isn't as badly injured as all that.

Jonas is inj. Think it will be much tighter than people think. It's much better to play the good teams early doors. If you're a good side, that's probably true - like when Spurs got spanked off Man City and Man Utd in successive fixtures but then went on to build a great season anyway, but if your team is built on foundations of sand (as ours is), if you hit a slump early, you tend to stay in it for the season - as we did last year. Much prefer some confidence-boosters/early points on the board/momentum. Trying to drum up a bit of positivity bro. Anyway there's loads of things that might help us ie No Aguero, no Tevez, Silva in Ecuador, Nastisic inj etc...I'd rather play them now before they go on a big run of wins and while they're still finding their feet. Grasping at straws? Of course. Is Aguero injured? Why is Silva in Ecuador? Are Spain playing over there like? I think it's better to play them now as well like, gets it out the road and also agree with others who say they have a new manager and players and may not have adapted fully yet. I'm excited for the start of the season and have no expectations whatsoever, unlike last year when i was confident we'd kick on after finishing 5th. Feels more like the pessimistic year before when we began with a 0-0 against Arsenal and went on to finish 5th after having been concerned about how we'd do.

Why risk Krul if he isn't 100% right? Elliott will do okay as long as the defence are organised and do their jobs in front of him.

I'm treating this as our final pre season friendly before the real stuff starts against West Ham. -

He's had more anonymous games than brilliant games for us mind and is also prone to the odd over the top nasty tackle. Don't know if I'd agree with that. Was consistently good the whole first season with us I don't think he was.
