nufc ooops someone not paying their bills on time?
  2. Didnt think so, he was on loan there tho, wasnt he, a couple of years ago?
  3. How about Cheryl Cole, 5 year deal?
  4. Bendtner signs for Sunderland. That would bring him a lot closer to Newcastle for sure. I bet they wish it was Bent signs for Sunderland.
  5. OOOHHHH. Its Roy of the Rovers.
  6. That'll be why we had a kid that's never played a senior game on the bench at the weekend then. Then why loan out Forster? Also, Harper is only injured for a short while. This guy is unlikely to get near the starting 11. He's what, 3rd or 4th choice? We don't even have ONE LB. Forster needs to be loaned at because he needs to develop which he is not going to do as our third choice keeper. While it is unlikely this guy will ever play for us we need to be prepared for a potential situation where for whatever reason our two starting keepers are unavailable. I'd much rather have this guy on loan for the season than risk having to potentially throw Soderberg into goal when he is not ready. I just question our priorities. We have no cover ATM at CB, NO LB at all (never mind cover) and questionable striking options. If we get to the point we need a keeper that bad, couldn't we do an emergency loan? Anyhow, is this guy any better than Soderburg?

  8. What a load of Boleks. Why do we need another keeper? Its the one position we have more than enough cover.
  9. It's clear we are only interested in deals that are "value for money" such as Cabaye, Tiote and Ben Arfa. The club is not interested in investing rediculous amounts of money on players as done so in the past, as results showed in the past it is not succesfully on the pitch or financially. That would have been Shane Long IMO, we missed out there. Another cheapo French dude is on the cards..... hope they turn out to be some good.
  10. We have quite few midfielders. We need an LB (obvious) and a striker. However, if we just ship in another Best/BA/Ameobi level striker, there is little point. That's what concerns me at this point, we are talking $$$ to buy what we need and have shown NO inclination to do that over the last 4 years.
  11. That's what I said a few days ago. Its a convenient cock-up.
  12. Yeah "name your price", always the best way to do a deal.. Yeah, well if they want 8m and we offer 6, its going to take a hell of a long time to get there.
  13. Instead of increasing the bid a farthing at a time, how about just asking how much they want??? This approach is like trying to find the reserve price on ebay.
  14. Sign him, we will? Ah, Jeddi Pardew, the force is strong in this one, it is.

    Joey Barton

If we had put Barton on the transfer list and received say 1-2 M for him, we could have bought Pieters at a slightly inflated price and not have been so worried about haggling. I don't see why we are letting him go for nought. Every other part of this regime is tighter than a fishes arse.
  16. I'll be surprised if we sign anyone. I think we will struggle along until January and if we are in the turd then maybe we will buy just enough to stay up. However, if we are mid-table in Jan then we would not buy anyone then either.
  17. You what? The club? How on earth do you work that out. He will want that back at some point. The question is how and when. I think we are seeing that answer being played out before our eyes. Could "Some of the 111 M has been paid off" be construed as "all of the money will be staying within the club"? I guess at some point the money had to be re-paid. I just hope we don't end up in a bigger crisis, by losing more than we save. After all, that is what relegation did for us, he lost way more than he saved implementing the gamble.

    Joey Barton

No way! Guthrie isn't half the player Barton is, plus he is injured almost always anyhow.
  19. http://www.nufcblog.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/Accounts.jpg From the 2010 accounts I didn't know that, interesting. As everyone says, will be fascinating to see what the next accounts say. I have repeatedly pointed these out before but the blind like to be blind. The note you and Jayson refer to merely says that certain amounts were repayable not that they were repaid. There is a huge difference. If you look a bit further you will find (on page 11 of the accounts) that Ashley had provided further funding of £7 million after 30th June. The accounts were signed on 5th January. This means that rather than taking any of his loan back he had, in fact, increased it to £147 million between 30th June 2010 and 5th January 2011. Surely if something was repayable it had to have been re-paid unless the terms were re-negotiated?
  20. Maybe true, fact still stands that Ashley is paying the debt down. Yep. At least we know the reason why Ashley hasn't invested more money into the squad after selling Carroll. He's taking his money back basically. and the sooner the better I assume that you mean the sooner the better because then we could be sold?
  21. You know I agree with this so long as its done in a responsible manner: my concern is that there is almost a fire sale with the playing side being put in jeopardy. Thankfully, as someone pointed out on another post, there are some awful teams in the prem this year. I assume they have taken this into account and decided the gamble is worth it. I hope they are right, but the track record isnt exactly great.
  22. I think that was the case.... but in any case it states the 16.5M loan is being repaid from the TV money, which I understand was about 40M. The Carroll money I don't just see sitting around in the bank doing nothing: I expect the 111 M to be lowered from the Carroll sale.
  23. Oh come on, be realistic. So it hasn't happened yet. But it will. Well that's a different question. It might, but then loans are usually paid back. We're lucky we don't still owe the money to a commercial bank TBH. Well I hope it doesn't cost us, this brinkmanship of attempting to have just enough quality to prevent relegation. Last time they tried it, we ended up in the Championship. Now, seemingly, after learning nothing from the last time the roulette wheel was given a spin, we are doing exactly the same again. So do I, but stop changing the argument. We were discussing whether he's paid himself back, which he hasn't. We wont know that until the accounts are published. He may have, for all we know, or the money may be just sitting in the bank. Who knows. I know man, I was talking about in the past. If he starts repaying himself in the future then fair enough. The last financial year IS in the past. He may have paid himself back some of the loans during this last year, and the accounts have not been published yet. Unless you are privy to the daily or interim accounts, you dont know what was paid last year until the accounts are published.
  24. Oh yeah... wonder if that was indeed paid back then? So in theory he should be getting a further 16.5M this month, plus possible payments off the 111M
  25. http://www.nufcblog.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/Accounts.jpg From the 2010 accounts So I'm figuring 12.3 M was paid back this month then?? And this 12.3 M was paid from TV income?
