  1. Aye, or Beckford. We could have saved on the petrol. Then we could have offered an extra 20 quid for Beckford, that would have made all the difference.
  2. Not any more Well, he is, but he's not playing there any longer. Who wouldn't love to have Geremi back here playing 48 hours after he's played 105 minutes and travelled from Angola? If he's jet-legged he might will forget about the fact that his legs are gone and will start running again. There is one thing I can say with certainty.... Geremi was NEVER jet-legged.
  3. We're due a good one, the odds are in our favour. Well he isn't Spanish or French, so we have a chance with this one!
  4. Kinda risky with 1 new guy and 1 reserve in the centre? Then again, who the hell else is there? Maybe Hughton will play RB!
  5. Typical, a Barcelona fan jumping ship to us just because we might win something this year. Gloryhunting ****.
  6. True. The Championship isn't the most...technical league in the world. Neither is the Premier League when you're a central defender. Prob along the lines of Wheater/Huth.... should be OK.... soon find out won't we!
  7. It gives the option to rest either Taylor or Colo for certain games. This lad is 6' 4", may be useful against the more physical sides.
  8. Maybe, just maybe we will be rotate the 3 and hopefully avoid any one of them being shagged out so to speak.
  9. Shittu is decent backup in this league but no more than that. Central defence is our strongest part of the team and you'd have to be insane to start messing with it to accomdate Shittu and slightly improve the RB position, frankly. Sadly, agree with this. Anyway, Taylor is The CB now whether we like it or not. Even if it's to the detriment of his game, which I think it is. In his mind, he's Tony Adams. From the state of his interviews its debatable whether he has a mind!
  10. Hmmm, we are padding/trying to pad out the squad with Championship type players. Its a gamble, we have no idea if these type of signings would be up to Prem levels. If we do get up, its going to be sink or swim unless (ha ha) a boat load of expensive signings are made.
  11. That's what all fans say when a player "betrays" loyalty to the club.
  12. Tonight he faced some decent opposition (and pretty mediocre by Premier League standards) and was absolutely raped out there. If we get him it doesn't bode well for next season if we go up. I agree... WBA would be a lower level Prem type of team and he looked horrible. Loan extension til the end of the season at most.
  13. Not sure about Simpson at all. Looks like a Championship player at best, I think he would be out of his depth at Premier level. I'd only take him on loan til the end of the season and then not sign him TBH.
  14. A winger who cannot cross the football. Enough said.
  15. This, and that slimy t**t Llambias explaining that no one wants to buy us (not at 200 million you c**t) and that Mike has changed his mind (once the transfer window has closed). So we are left with a raft of sales, no purchases and no manager (or Kinnear back). Does Llambias leave in an armoured car nowadays? Or has he already high tailed it down the smoke?
  16. Ashley is a mong of the higest order. Why on earth didnt he appoint Shearer to get the highly paid flops out, new players in, stabilize the ship, get the new season underway with a bang, season tickets sold ....... then put us up for sale. Instead, he creates even more chaos, doeas everything arse about face..... how on earth did this loon make a fortune?? It beggars belief that someone so successful could operate in this fashion.
  17. Time to ship out in the summer, even if we manage to stay up. We have to try and sign players with more desire to play for us. We did it before when we first came up in Cole/Lee etc and so should look to do that again. Sick and tired of players spitting out dummies, they arent going to be around to pick up the pieces. We on the other hand are.
  18. It will be tough but we could get a draw, only if we don't try 5 at the back again. That was a total disaster. Has to be 442 or 433 depending on who is fit. We need Barton back IMO and staying fit until the end of the season to get out of this.
  19. It's not surprising at all though. They're a bunch of two bit thugs that grind out results by knocking the s*** out of their opponents, and that's how they'll survive. I used to have a positive ish attitude towards Stoke, due to their history and whatnot, but after this game I really do wish they'd go down. Their fans are c***s as well. Anyone see the situation where they threw something at Raylor? Action has to be taken by the FA imo. I've only ever been there once and what a shi+hole. Horrible place.
  20. http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/football/premier-league/2008-2009/stoke-newcastle-236939.html http://www.skysports.com/football/match_report/0,19764,11065_3005308,00.html http://soccernet-assets.espn.go.com/match?id=244217&league=ENG.1&cc=5739 Apparently not. They did f***-all second half, and I'm not sure if possession counts when the ball is dead and they're taking about 30 seconds for every set play (throws included). If it was, then it would have been about 80-20 in their favour. f***ing c***s. Stoke were really dire. Goes to show how bad we were in the first half and how you dodnt have to be up to much to be a mid table side. I reckon the PL has some really poor sides in it this year.
  21. He was at fault for the goal, he was s**** when he was on the ball, his work ethic was s**** when he didn't for 3. He looked absolute garbage today, didnt put himself about at all. 6 foot what 2-3 and cant head a ball? Championship quality at best.
  22. Butt and Nolan are like tweedle dee and tweedle dum in the middle. Absolutely shocking. Nolan needs to lose about 1/2 a stone, been on the pies by the look of it. Not at all. I thought he tackled back and then kept possesion (normally he manages column A but then f***s up with column B) well, particularly in the second half. Did you not see him walk the ball out of play twice for a goal kick and play 3 or 4 60 yard passes to the advertising boards? I couldn't decide whether to cry or laugh when Butt walked the ball out of touch. Butt and Nolan are like tweedle dee and tweedle dum in the middle. Absolutely shocking. Nolan been stealing pies?
