  1. Aye, behind him more than I realised. He's Spiderman, hes supposed to be able to do shit like that
  2. Oh, man Best wins and ...... the man with no strength in those legs woooooosh
  3. Think he's been pretty good this half actually. Decent half by simmo IMO
  4. Gutierrez crosses are abysmal, cant he lift the ball, are those legs too thin???
  5. Thanks for that incredibly insightful and useful piece of information. All I have to do now is find means to travel back in time. Did you ever meet the Dr?
  6. It's a choice of who you believe, the board or Andy Carroll, only one version of events is true. How any one can believe the board is beyond me. http://nufc-ashlies.blogspot.com/ Carroll is hardly blameless in his departure. Remember that he signed a new contract a few months prior to him leaving. From what I gather, his new contract was hardly the minimum wage and was very reasonable, it seems to me that Carroll's head was swung by the money on offer at Liverpool. The board of course aren't blameless either. They sold a player who would have been the core of the team in the future (building a team around him and all that) and was also a potential Newcastle legend in the making. Both parties were satisfied, end of. Hopefully, he wont do that well at Pool and we can get him back at less than what we paid. Wages likely to be a problem however. Indeed. Regarding your second paragraph, hf he ever does come back, hope he has a nice long apology prepared. I remember Beardsley waving to the Kop and was mad at the time when he left. All was forgiven when he came back though. Boy, what a player.

  8. That depends on how you calculate the expenses. If we include agent fees, salaries during the contract period and sign on fees, we've used all the money. And a very, very important factor is that we used some of those money to tie down Tiote for 6,5 years. You're so emotionally tied to Carroll that you have difficulties to see what we've bought/secured for the future with the money we sold him for: *Tiote *Cabaye *Ba *Maveraux In sum, those players are of course much better than Carroll. And we have REPLACED Carroll if we're talking about getting in a similar player (Ba), but if you're yearning for a marquee signing, we have not succeeded. Personally, I think it's important to consider many aspects: I don't want us to use too much, he must be fast and have a good engine, and he must fit into the squad. That's absolute nonsense. The money saved/gained from selling Nolan, Enrique & Barton cancels the signings you mentioned. The NET spend has been almost ZERO.... non of the Carroll money has been used, not on the playing side anyhow. You CANNOT say the 35M Carroll money has been used on wages etc WITHOUT taking into account ALL incoming revenues, such as TV money, ticket sales, shirt sales and other merchandising. To try and count wages without taking income revenues into account is just dishonest. The argument you make assumes NO income whatsover from general operations. This is EXACTLY what the club want you to believe, its incredible!

    Alan Pardew

I agree on this one. Given the circumstances, he's done a pretty good job. The alternatives are horrible if he should leave. He's been made to look a bit of a pillock though. If I were he I would insist Derek talks to the media about all transfers from now on and only talk about the games.

    Bryan Ruiz

I don't think it was a genuine attempt to sign him, but it was a PR exercise so that the hierarchy could justify their inactivity. Either way, 10M for Ruiz is outrageous, so I'm glad whichever way you look at it we didnt succeed. The real question to be answered is 7 months to find no-body. Scandalous!
