  1. Yup, Townsend is a terrible player IMO. Poor mans Laurent Robert. To even mention them in the same sentence is disrespectful A terrible player? Townsend's basically a better version of Jonas when we bought him. £14m is f***ing ludicrous, like. Imagine us never spending money and then Ashley chucks £14m on Townsend. Jesus Christ.
  2. It's hard to get going against a organized teams. Mexico will sit and invite Holland to play, don't think they'll break them down easily as their goals have come from counter-attacks in the World Cup. Really think Mexico have enough to beat them but am going with yet another R16 extra time loss for Mexico. Two teams sitting off then. And Robben to grab an ET goal.

  4. Yeah, that's exactly what I said and that was exactly my point. Fucking TDick got Willian to miss a penalty as well.
  5. So you think he's been diving? I'm talking about this tournament, I know he likes to throw himself on the ground otherwise regularly.
  6. If he's out they don't have much of a chance IMO. He's not going to be out, he's no doubt, it's just mind games. He's got a swollen thigh. For all the diving people talk about Neymar he's been standing on his feet quite well this tournament which has resulted in plenty of naughty challenges. The one by Aranguiz early in the game which caused the injury deserved a yellow. People said the same about Spain last World Cup. Beat Portugal 1-0, almost went out to Paraguay before showing up in the semi-finals. People don't give credit where it's due. For all the praise Chile gets, Julio Cesar made ONE (!!) save all game. We're playing extremely poor, but advancing which gives us time to make it right. We've played decent and organized teams, which all put that extra shift in to be the team to beat the hometeam. I'm not defending this team fwiw, there's no defending for the showing we've put on. Only Neymar, David Luiz, Luiz Gustavo and Julio Cesar gets praise from me for the World Cup this far, but we've conceded 3 goals, all from mistakes, none of them were normal goals which tells me if we cut the mistakes out we shouldn't even draw the game.
  7. Is this the type of fan you've guys been talking about? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qMFe-zJ_AFo Seriously, fuck is that
  8. 'Sticking by' is an understatement to the extreme. They very actively backed him when he abused Evra. They're an abhorrent club who continue to support an abhorrent human being. Fully expect everyone to forget it until he inevitably commits his next appalling incident in La Liga. People will probably then claim Liverpool 'did so well' getting rid of Suarez. Argh. A f***ing disgusting club with a disgusting player. He's a disgusting player, but an abhorrent human being is going a bit far. Everyone reacts differently under stress, pressure and different moments, that doesn't make him an abhorrent human being for that. For all we know he might be the best husband, father around just that like most footballers when they get onto the pitch with adrenaline many lose any sense of self-control. Coutinho was interviewed on Brazilian tv and said that Suarez and his family took him in when he first arrived that they helped him the most possible to settle in, he did however admit (without saying) that Suarez has a screw or two lose even during training, but that off the pitch he is a great person. Suarez reminds me of the article I read about players being interviewd saying they'd be willing to die in five years if they were allowed to win the Champions League the upcoming season (or something to that extent). That mentality is scary for the outsiders, but that is what they live and die for, winning games. Suarez is mental on the pitch, and had he been a man he should've just admitted his mistake and taken his ban which I believe would've been lighter. He knows he did wrong as he was the only one not celebrating after the game, I just believe that he and the staff believed it was the best to deny and that maybe they could escape a punishment because he's a ''star''. Glad he didn't, even if I'm of the opinion the ban in terms of what it represents is excessive.
  9. Luck runs out at some point if we don't improve. There must be changes for the game against Colombia. Maicon needs to come on and Luiz Gustavo is suspended. Will be interesting to see what Scolari does, but Colombia looks like the better team even if we on paper and in history are a better team. I was more scared of Chile but that doesn't mean I don't think we'll have tons of problems, I just think our football is more suited to play the colombian one. It's a knock out game and it's about time Scolari got the starting 11 right. Had excellent start to the game today but as soon as they scored the team started to crumble under pressure.
  10. Friday could potentially be France v Germany 1PM (Brazilian time) Brazil v Colombia 5PM Fucking love the latter stages of the World Cup.
  11. I think you should be worried tbh. They've played well for all four matches so far and I would rate them higher than Chile. Should be a good match! True, I've been impressed by their offensive weapons no doubt, and they'll cause us tons of trouble. I just think their defense is extremely weak and don't play the same pressure game is Chile. Who knows we might lose 3-0 the way we've played for big chunks of all the games, but I'm a bit more at ease playing them than the Chilean mining side with the tattoos up their necks.
  12. Should I be more worried about this Colombia side than Chiles? Somehow this Chile side scared the living shit out of me, while the Colombian side feels like a team that lets us play to our strengths. Don't know what to think, just glad I can enjoy the World Cup until friday at the very least and that the cunts of Uruguay are out.
  13. Very good team offensively, tons of weapons and can switch between technically and pure speed as well. So many different ways to attack. Their defense is bad and any team wanting to beat them will have to attack from the off and make Yepes, Zuniga, Armero and Zapata work.
  14. We'll bow out before that if the team doesn't improve.
  15. I hate penalties. Didn't even see Neymars. Once again we don't convince and rely on luck. Something needs to change ffs. Chile is a great team, and I said at the beginning I'd play Holland instead. They were better than us for 100minutes out of 120 so they're unlucky. But Julio Cesar GOLEIRÃO!
  16. Why shouldn't he be? He's a very good ref. Yeah he's very good.
  17. Don't know what happened in between the Confed and World Cup. But we're a completely different team. Pressure is really on the players, and I don't think we go further than this unfortunately. Haven't deserved it either. Maybe Hulk should've had a pen, but that cancels out the opening game.
  18. That fucking goal man, killed us. Everyone thought it was good. Was it really handball? TV angle here showed more shoulder/breast area then arm. Webb has been absolutely shit all game. Was hoping for ET here, Chile is such a good team.
  19. Hulk is a disgrace. All I have to say. Get Ramires on.
  20. When Suarez has been dealt by the FA he's been hit harder than Barton despite Barton clearly doing terrible stuff. When Terry (with clear evidence!!) was charged for racism he got less than Suarez as well. There's no consistency.
  21. First time he was charged with a racist remark he was given 8 games, first time Terry did it he was given 4games. Defoe was given a yellow for his bite while Suarez got 10 for his bite. There's just no consistency in football, like I said I'm all for this punishment if it actually led somewhere when other players did things as bad. I just think that limiting him from training with his team or going to watch a game is ridiculous. I don't think the amount of games per se is ridiculous.
  22. It is though, consistency is needed and when you ban one guy but let the next one escape the punishment it clearly affects the way we look at it. How can Pepe escape it but not Suarez? It's more of a political message than anything else, FIFA wants to prove that they're authority and can do it to one of the biggest stars. I think FIFPro the players association is more in line with what would be reasonable. Ban him from international football and get the guy some helps instead of forbidding him from going into the stadium. Liverpool gets clearly hard done and no one on here cares since it's them, but had it been us I doubt people would be looking at it much differently from what the reasonable Liverpool fans (not the once saying he's done nothing wrong). I just think there needs to be more consistency and if that means that FIFA from now on will punish players harder for off-the-ball incidents then fine, but if this is a one time punishment from FIFA then they're in the wrong as usual.
  23. Chiellini was bitten and has come out in his defense. It's a ridiculous punishment, ban him 4,6 months 12 months from football, but banning him from training and going to watch games is ridiculous and has nothing to do with a fair punishment and all to do with politics. It's ridiculous. Most of the world of football is defending him, everyone from Johan Alvbåge in Sweden to Falcao in Brazil to Alexis Sanchez to Chiellini in Italy. World Cup players are saying it's excessive. Why were Tasotti and Leonardo allowed in 94 to still be a part of the squad? Why weren't their credentials taken away from them and sent home? I don't care if it's three bites, ban him in official football games not on what he does in his sparetime, FIFA are really putting themselves into a dangerous zone by doing this and are going to have to go hard on every off the ball incident now. He can still keep fit/train on his own time. As for being banned from going to watch games, fans get banned from stadiums all the time, most of them for less than attempted canabolism. Forgot it's an individual sport. As for cannibalism, look up the internet for it's definition, or I guess we've changed it and all kids are cannibals as well? The ban is excessive IMO. I'll leave it at that though. We'll see how CAS looks at it, wouldn't surprise me if the games stands but the not training with teammates and going to watch games doesn't. Don't know about the ban, but really. What kind of a person bites another player. The guy needs serious help. IMO he should be allowed to train and watch games, but these kind of players really hurt the beautiful game. You can't compare Suarez's actions with headbutting incidents, like Pepe&Muller, when these are usually slightest of touches that the other guy makes a meal of. What on earth was LS thinking? ain't comparing it to headbutts though, I'm comparing it to Pepe kicking a player on the floor and then having multiple offences in other occasions or Barton being thrown in prison and then getting a more lenient ban despite punching someone in the stomach or kneeing someone in the hamstring. Roy Keane tackle as an example, wasn't it an 8 game ban? Destroyed a player career. Suarez ban should've been international games + a must to seek help. Banning him from training with teammates or watching football games in stadium is ridiculous.
