  1. Contribute to something rather than coming with obnoxious stuff like that.
  2. Do people not watch the best team in the world? Ribery has got to be before Ibrahimovic. Ibra hasn't even scored the most in his god damn team, spectacular goals shouldn't win awards. I think CRonaldo or Ribery will get it based on the fact that Messi has been injured a bit.
  3. So racist. And coming from you and all. Horrible feeling reading that post. You race carding me. If this was the NFL thread I would have mentioned that this is the first time you defended a dark Brazilian, but I didn't do that here because it sounds mean outside that thread. NBA thread you mean? Probably. It's all the same s***. Seriously though. Can you even compare players that played so far apart? You just have to break it down by generation/era, imo. Been there. But we all came to the conlusion that after Pele you can break it down in generations. Garrincha - Maradona - Cruyff - Messi etc. But Pele above all In terms of impact you would have to say Maradona. No player before or after single handedly improved a team the way Maradona did. Pele was the jewel in the crown of those Brazil teams. While pele won three world cups he was not their most important player in 58 and 62 , 70. In 1986 and 1990 Maradona was Argentina's only player. Is this a serious post? Don't try to re-write history like that. In 1958 Pele got only to start in the third game after Brazil had difficulties in the first two games. His teammates forced the coach to make the change and put him and Garrincha on. From then on it was the Pele show all the way. He scored 6 goals in 4 games, 5 of those coming in the semi-finals and final as a 17 year old. In 1970 he was the veteran and brain of the team, many people thought he'd quit after the 1966 shambles where he was brutally attacked by defenders every game and missed a game against Hungary only to be kicked again against Portugal and have to limp the entire game. Also for someone who seems so intent on naming the 1986 World Cup and Maradona in the same sentence should probably look up Garrincha and the 1962 World Cup. Both were equally dominated by one player. So look up the years 1962 was BEFORE 1986 so, yeah someone has made the same impact as Maradona, a whole 24 years earlier. It's like that prize for FIFA that Maradona won on votes, but they just couldn't let it pass and had to make up another one to allow Pele since it was obvious none had seen Pele. The amount of footage I've seen of Pele makes it's quite clear in my mind who was the most dominant player in history, and this under a time where players like Garrincha, Puskas, Eusebio all played, all considered greats of this sport. I respect opinions and I understand some think Maradona was the best, as he was an absolute impeccable player, but mention his ability and what he did with the ball, not what he achieved, because what he did achieve had been done before.
  4. Conca is such a good player. Too bad he's argentinian.

    Alan Pardew

Worst part is, had that been us in their place we'd still have some defending Pardew on here and Pardew would still have a job here
  6. Hughton and Jol out my monday morning?
  7. Did he dive? Didn't see a replay of the play, but swedish tv keeps saying he tripped before the the contact and that he didn't dive. So I'm asking you guys who have seen it, if it really was a dive. No matter what it was a horrible decision. It's a blatant dive. Reid runs alongside him and Ramires just throws his body into Reid's. Alright, just didn't look like he appealed and the commentators here were saying he tripped on his own foot before making contact. Going to have to see a replay. Had to google him.
  8. I rate Gundogan highly, one of my favorites playing the game right now. Excellent player.

  10. How the fuck did he give a penalty there? It's unbelievable.
  11. TBF I'm quite shocked to see that they haven't done better before. Scandinavians share the ability to grow into full-vikings before they're 17. I swear to god, looking at that squad I'd guess beforehand that 75% are at least 20 years old. While looking at the argentinian team they look 15 at most.
  12. You know what your job is. Do it.
  13. Right? Disgraceful, Flip. You didn't even know who Oladipo was in 2008, lying motherfucker. ?? That's my avatar man, go back to old messages and it will be the same for you. Since when can I even use paint man. I'd need to be some pro like Dave or Semtex to pull of a fabricated post like that.

  16. Blashpemy. Blasphemy. Blasphemy. No FF wins for you. 10 point deduction for every player. Would it matter?
  17. I don't think he's a great defender no. They defend well as a team, not necessarily their players. Mertesacker is a good defender, don't get me wrong, I just don't see him as a top 5 defender in the PL. Who would you rate higher than him at CB? I'm only coming up with a few. His positional awareness and aerial ability are excellent. Not great with the ball at his feet, but that's Koscielny's job. Agger (whenever he's fit), Koscielny (prefer him), Terry, Luiz, Colo, Kompany. I do realize it's hard to really compare them like that since it's different kinds of defenders, but there's something with Mertesacker and the ball at his feet like you mentioned that kills me. So stiff in a way, I also like Kaboul and Vertonghen for those reasons as well. Luiz He's terrible. Awful positional sense and discipline Chelsea look far better when he's not involved. Clueless. Felipe, please understand. Luiz has incredible talent, so he obviously isn't just terrible, but the previous poster is right. He is extremely lacking in some of the most important mental areas for a centreback. He is often out of position for no reason whatsoever and commits simple errors that result from a lazy mentality defensively. Even when them played him as a deep midfielder last season, he cost them a big goal against Tottenham by simply not being in the defensive position required of him for no reason. He might be top three in the world for ninety percent of the time, but the ten percent of poor play will always hold him back from achieving full potential. It will be interesting to see how Chelsea handle his situation at the club once Omeruo takes his place in the side. Read what you wrote again and tell me where you actually agree with the previous poster. I completely agree with you fwiw. He was calling Luiz a terrible defender and Chelsea are far better off without him, which in my opinion shows a lack of knowledge. I'm not going to defend him and say he's pure class. But just like you said, for 85-90% of time he's one of the absolute best in the world, if not the best. His problem is consistency due to his mental lapses at times. He doesn't have great discipline, but his positional sense is getting much better. I won't sit here and the defend him till end of time because I've seen what he can do on a bad day, which is what scares me for the World Cup. I just don't agree with calling him terrible, when it's quite clear that on his day he might be the best in the world. (please don't come with the same goes for Bramble) I was agreeing with his poor position and discipline. Reading further, our positions are similar. At 26, the the guy is no child and needs to be improving, though. He should be embarrassed to live in a world where he is dropped for an average Gary Cahill and a finished John Terry. Dropped? Mourinho has been rotating and except for the City game and last night he's played every game for Chelsea this season where he's been fit.

  21. Like I said earlier, I still see him as a very good defender, I just don't think he's a fantastic defender. I might be wrong though, and maybe what Mole says goes for me when I see him as he isn't a very good footballer but a fantastic defender. I just seem to have fixated that opinion you have on him still. I don't see enough Arsenal though to make a perfect judgement like many on here probably, but he's never impressed me for the national team or in there CL games (didn't see the one last night).
