  1. Leeds. Think he was there for one or two season and was an absolute failure if my memory serves me right.
  2. The invisible wall. Him and Vieira, what a midfield combo. Funny thing is neither Kleberson nor Gilberto Silva were supposed to start at the World Cup. Gilberto got his place after Emerson dislocated his shoulder during the pre-tournament camp playing as a goalkeeper for fun after training. And Kleberson only began playing after the group stages due to Juninho Paulista not having been at his best.
  3. Roque Junior. Absolute beast at the World Cup better than the two others, but another one that bit the dust after coming to the PL.
  4. Our best performances last season came without Shelvey on the pitch.Norwich away and Arsenal at home were two of our best performances and in both Brunos started as the deep lying player in Shelveys position if I remember it correctly.
  5. Kleberson won the World Cup as an integral part of the best Brazilian side of the last 20 years. Don't disrespect the man.
  6. Chris Wood and Almiron/Fraser/Murphy were all part of the same team. If anyone believes that our form is sustainable with the current team, they're kidding themselves. That being said, if our aim is a top 10 finish then let's hope we can sign a player or more and completely avoid injuries.
  7. Love how he's talking about doing the hard work and that Neymar wouldn't have to worry about the defensive part. His mindset has already switched from being a striker to a hard working central midfielder. Really hope he can sustain his form. Had such a tough start to his career here and has kept working hard.
  8. Fair enough. I agree it doesn't have to be Paqueta (no guarantees that he'll be a success either), it all depends on how Howe sees Bruno playing. Bruno seemed to play a few positions in midfield and did well in all of them. If we want to play progressive football I see him as a deep lying playmaker, but given where we are, him as the most offensive midfielder isn't bad either.
  9. Couldn't agree more.
  10. I got his point. I just don't agree with it at all. I might be in a minority, but our last half of the season isn't sustainable with this squad at all and especially in midfield. An injury to Bruno and we're back to a relegation battling midfield. Howe seems to be a good manager, but he's not a miracle man. Signing someone like Paqueta or any other CM that improves us is very important.
  11. Are you guys saying you'd be happy to go into next season with Joelinton, Shelvey, Longstaff, Bruno and Willock as our central midfielders? I think a DM/CM/CAM depending on how we plan to play Bruno should be our priority along with a RW. Also, Joelinton hasn't created a problem for us signing Paqueta at all. They don't play the same position at all. Paqueta is much more advanced and far far more talented.
  12. If Gabriel Jesus scores 12 from open play next season he'll have been a success. If he's allowed to take over penalty duties and scores 17 I think Arsenal must be very happy. Will be interesting. Clearly very very talented, but completely stagnated after his first 18 months at Manchester City.
  13. Raphinha is twice the player Diaby is and that’s based on having seen 0 of Diaby since he left PSG. Signing Raphinha is all I want.
  14. Not a fan at all tbh. Scores goals, but think he's the shit when he's not. Depends a lot on service and doesn't work hard enough. Was more of a winger, but has become more of a poacher in the last few years. He clearly has some talents, but his attitude is piss poor and he's no Romario. I'd rather go all in on Raphinha or Paquet, with a slight preference to the Raph as he has PL experience and just excites me more.
  15. Now that we've closed the Botman deal, there's one thing and one thing only the club has to do. Go get Raphinha. If we get Raphinha I could even live with having Wood as 2nd striker until January and Shelvey, Willock, Bruno, Longstaff and Joe as central midfielders.
  16. Gabriel Jesus to Arsenal. Exactly what he needed if he wants to make the World Cup squad. Hope he takes his chance now.
  17. As long as we sign Raphinha I don't care what route we go tbh.
  18. I would fall back in love with the club again. Probably my favourite player at the moment. In a better team I’d say he could be on par with Mahrez and with higher work rate.
  19. Vini, Haaland and Mbappé at their prime together.

    FIFA World Cup

Shame, but this Peruvian side isn't that good. Peaked in 2019, were excellent despite not making it out of the group stages in 2018. But complete free fall since then, just lucky Colombia crumbled under their previous manager and Chile insisting on playing the 40+ year olds.

    England

I'm all for England being more offensive, but this is suicide.
  22. Ekitike, Paqueta, Diaby and Botman. And we are ready to fight for top 7 next season. That’s based on only having seen Paqueta out of the four playing
  23. Far worse than I expected How can ref look at that and sincerely feel that’s a pen. Maybe its the angle, but doesnt look like he touches him whatsoever.
