  1. He's extremely naive defensively.
  2. Think we don't need a target man. Remy is a strong and tall lad. No target man per se, but could do the job as the striker linking midfield and attack with his linkup and holdup ability.
  3. No, I was mainly revering to his aggression, strength and ugly looks.
  4. Be an uninspiring but much needed deal tbf though.
  5. MYM Take that yao face off man, he's an excellent defender.
  6. Was unlucky not to score yesterday though. Real up 2-0 against Athletic. Cronaldo and Isco
  7. CBs are bad at defending and good at getting forward?
  8. No one knows really. You could speculate that based on Deschamps' remarks he had no choice but to play and to play well, but anything is just speculation unless he comes out with his side of the story. Thanks. Thought I'd missed something.
  9. He wasn't great, but his ability to be more direct rather than play the simple game suited us better when looking for the full points yesterday. It's his ability to pick out passes across the pitch and understand the others movement that helped us. Gouffran was once again very dangerous when he came on, but seems to be lacking confidence to get that goal.

    Papiss Cissé

Give over. His concerns regarding Cisse's limitations are very valid and have been from the moment he, and a few others, started voicing them. There's no right or wrong or smugness, we all lose unless he refinds his early form. As I said yesterday, I thought he looked better yesterday than he has for a while, but as a striker he should be judged on goals, and we have 1 in 3 as a team, of which he has none. I've always defended Cisse because I've felt there's been a lack of service and he's put the effort in. However, his start to the season has been abysmal in every part of the game. His first touch is off, his movement is off, his passing is off, his shooting is off. I really hope and do think Remy will benefit him the most.
  11. So it's been confirmed that he refused to play and wants to leave? Didn't look like it when he came onto the pitch yesterday and his passing ability and vision made us more dangerous. Still prefer Anita next to Sissoko though, but I think the three of them could do an excellent job.
  12. Shola couldn't manage 1 in 2 in Sunday league football. I like him, we should keep him on as a mascot, but as far away from the field as possible.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

One of the only things I give credit to Pardew for is managing Ben Arfa correctly and I think he still is here. Basically he's treating him as he is, a world class talent, so his standards are higher for him than of other players. Used to annoy the hell out of me 2 years ago when Pardew would constantly criticise Ben Arfa for something and then someone like Obertan would get praised. Further down the line now I can see what he's doing. Obertan was at his limits whereas Ben Arfa always had another level he can go to when he's focused. He's right as well because for just over half of that game Hatem was making incorrect decisions, for example shooting from 30 odd yards when he's got people in the box etc. 2nd half was far better as he was shooting at the right times and crossing at the right times. Agreed, Pardew isn't a totally inept manager across all accounts. His man-management is often very good with almost all our players. The fact that Shola hasn't been let go is proof of that. He likes everyone. He seems like a nice person, just a terrible manager, who shouldn't be managing this football club.

    Other clubs' transfers

Such a nothing signing. Puncheon is a great one for them but Kebe has one good game in about twenty So has Puncheon tbf too.
  15. Villarreal close to third straight here. Looking very solid.
  16. Have to agree with you for once Inochi.
  17. So players actually make an effort, try and we play well = the opposition was crap. We play like s*** and players look disinterested = we are s***. Do people purposely ignore positive changes that occur in front of their eyes, or are they simply too stubborn and hold onto their preconceived notion of how a bunch of players supposedly are? I just hope you're wrong. I saw a LOT to take away from today, a ton of positives, and, most impressive for me, was to see commitment, heart and actual care from our players. I, for one, was convinced none of them gave a crap. They proved me wrong today. Yes, Fulham were awful, but the players can only play what's put in front of them. Credit where it's due. I understand where you're coming from but you make it sound like we outclassed them by three or four goals. We lack so much movement upfront that if we don't improve drastically we're going to be found in a relegation battle come end of the season. Possibly with this Fulham side, which was the worst Fulham side I've seen in a long long time.
