http://sport.stv.tv/football/clubs/rangers/108457-spl-threaten-breakaway-league-if-sfl-clubs-do-not-agree-to-rangers-plans/ An absolutely disgusting development if true. It's basically blackmail!
-
They're an utter shambles. I'm starting to think they would be better off just totally finishing and starting again non-league until they sort themselves out. Anyway, currently to get into the SFL you need to have three years of accounts to show. Another option is to murder another club.
-
It would be good if it wasn't for the break in the stripes at the sponsor bit and the stupid spikes. Also prefer when the badge is properly embroided on rather than sort of a patch with the badge on sewed on.
-
When Gretna went bust, the SFL clubs voted on their replacement. I don't see why this should be any different. Can't see as many clubs as usual applying though considering their chances against the new Rangers. Usually Gala, Cove, Spartans, Edinburgh City and Preston Athletic apply. Spartans don't have many friends in the SFL.

I'm actually pleasantly surprised SPL (Self-Preservation League) teams have decided to go down this route. A victory for the fans and sporting integrity really. However, parachuting a brand new club into Division 1 will be an equally as big a disgrace as had they been let into the SPL. Why should clubs like Berwick live within their means, contest without cheating or running themselves into the ground, and be leagues below a new team who only exist because their previous old-co cheated, built up debt and ran them into the ground.
-
A 'Glasgow Cup' would be a shambles if Rangers were a 3rd Division team. They'd just get destroyed. If it was involving other Glasgow teams, Partick would probably end up in the final with Celtic anyway.
-
That would be terrible as well imo. It's just SPL style self preservation further down the leagues so that clubs like Partick can get a slice of the pie. Scottish football needs a proper pyrimid system like England. Rangers are a new club now, they should start where all new clubs do, at the bottom.
-
I know. Just mentioning it has happened within Scotland.
-
Rangers hardly making more friends, not that they had many in the first place. This kind of stuff has happened in Scotland before though. Airdrie United buying Cydebank after Airdrionians went bust, and someone buying Meadowbank Thistle with the sole purpose of moving them to Livingston.
-
The Rangers v Berwick Rangers last game of the season.
-
Would have to be sorted by the release of the fixtures anyway, would it not?
-
Are you sure those clubs would vote against? I'd like to think so, but think you're being a bit optimistic. If it goes down to a vote for the 3rd Division, they will get in no bother. Berwick chairman is a Rangers fan for a start and I can imagine a few more in boardrooms around Scotland. Spartans are the only other realistic application and they don't have too many friends around the SFL.

Group stage. Arsenal have to do a qualifier now.
-
League position obviously isn't everything here. It's only correct that the champions defend their trophy. That's an achievement, finishing 4th shouldn't give you the right to anything. I'm far more comfortable with Chelsea being in there next year than Man Utd, Arsenal and defiantly Spurs.
-
So you pick someone who finishes 4, third of the losers to play in the Champions League over someone who are the champions of the Champions League. Bizarre!

NUFC.com are guilty of the SMS with regular references to "message board morons". Aye, the arrogance. A bit like some journo's when blogs and things like twitter came along. Everyone has an opinion that can be published now and they hate it. Still think they're a cut above.
-
Not a fan of True Faith, ever since they ranted about idiots who visit forums talking s****. Like their opinion is more valid because its in a shitty printed magazine or something.
-
A good defensive option from the bench (assuming Taylor is fit), someone with pace. Also maybe some extra cover at full back and right midfield. A young promising striker.
-
Maybe you should support another team then. My post was meant to suggest that even though i think we'll get severely done at chelsea, not even that could take the shine off what has been an absoluetly fantastic season. There's no need to get pissy. I know exactly what it meant! Save the patting ourselves on the back until the end of the season eh? Might not get a better chance to make the Champions League. Rather than just not caring anymore, why not try and keep going until its over. Your attitude is a losers attitude and it fuckin boils me.
-
Maybe you should support another team then.
-
You thought we'd get whipped at Wigan? Give over man. No, i thought we would get beat.
-
Kind of thought this would happen. Been too much celebrating and patting ourselves on the back this week. People should at least wait until the end of the season for christs sake.

I was saying something similar to my mate the other day. Not on Ben Arfa specifically, but the moments our front three are producing. Our commercial revenue has fallen by quite a bit, and players like Ben Arfa and moments like Monday get people interested. It's good to get foreigners and young people hooked in early on, even if it does subject them to a life of misery.
