  1. That was painful to watch. Where was the heart, the passion, the desire. And I completely blame Pardew for that, I was screaming for changes before 30 minutes were up. Why the fuck does he persist with Shola, and if Raylor starts the next game I'll be astonished. Saylor kept us in it, they could have been out of sight by half-time. Sewelly, you still think SWP is shite? Tiote lost the ball in some horrible positions, Guitterez proved again he's absolutley garbage - the ONLY thing he offers is tracking back. Obertan looked good in places, and then completely static and inept in others. How the fuck we got a point I'll never know but I'm real glad we did. Let's hope that was a wake-up call to Pardew. Ba, Marveaux and Santon to start next time thank you.

  3. Time hasn't slowed has it, keep glancing at the clock and I'd swear the hands are taking the piss.
  4. With his pace though, it's just something that's bound to happen. Terrible player, but he'll have some great debut tonight. SWP is far from a terrible player. He is like. He's fucking crap. So going to score now.
  5. He really should be starting..
  6. Beat QPR and we'll be 4th assuming Mancs beat Bolton. Some nice results for us today.

Agree with that. and this (although it's cold LIGHT of day isn't it? ) Sewelly sums up my thoughts perfectly. 12 months ago people would have been happy to give the lad away for free, obviously since then he has more than proved his worth but that doesn't change the fact it's one season, 25% of his time here. Players who have given far more have had far, far more stick. And mine. I'm reminded of Mike's comment in La Meme Fred
  8. This. He´s also a big threat on set pieces. HBA could be devastating yes, but Carroll doesn't have the movement to match HBA's vision and speed of thought. Taking nought away from Carroll who is a great player and doesn't need long balls to prove it either, they're not a match made in heaven.

  10. Mmm... The same shit team who got a great 1-0 win at Everton and have since been took over by a new owner and have signed Barton SWP and Ferdinand... Not saying they ate worldbeaters but let's not get carried away... Classic NUFC banana skin awaiting us in front of the watching millions... I think we need to remember that despite the results we have been over run for large periods in all 4 games this season... Would love to say I don't have your fear as well, but, no, have it in spades. Barton is bound to have a major impact on the game as well. Just hope to God that it's the 'have fight with Taraabt and both get sent off' kind, rather than the 'sets up two, then scores the third' kind. I'm reckoning a red card myself. Although another possibility is he is almost anonymous. That would do too.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

Loving all the optimism. And loving the French (Tunisian) invasion of our board. Reading all the contributions from them it would seem clear that a striker like Erdinc was EXACTLY what we needed. Ba would seem best of what we have if he finds his form again.
  12. It's strange because i'm quite sure of the contrary... Anyway, you seem to share some common reactions. Testosterone fuelled posts?

Is that a fact? We could have brought in Maiga or Cisse and found out they're s****. I don't understand the attitude of spending lots of money = better. It was tried under Shepherd and the club was in bits by the end. Look at Leeds too. Aye, we'll just stick with Lovenkrands and Shola who are proven shit. Why choose those two? Why not say we'll have to stick with Ba and Best for now. Of the 4 primary strikers I'm quite sure the majority would plump for the latter two. And hopefully a large portion of the season will be one of the above with Ben Arfa behind him. But, ah damn, that doesn't sound so bad when you say it that way. Yes we'd have all loved a new striker, especially if he was sexy. It really isn't the end of the world and you may even be ultimately right that it could cost a few points over the length of the season. But.... - I'm still far more concerned about the paucity of our defence, especially centrally.
  14. And question thread starter under seriously hot lights.
  15. Just going to say, 'one for the future then'.
  16. 20/21 yr old Slovenian? Same nationality as Vuckic right?
  17. You make it sound like we know what we are doing If these deals are anything to go by, you know exactly what you're doing. You run the risk of upsetting some posters Neil. Ashley and Co are c***s and there's no way past that, all these class signings must be some kind of accident or - ah got it.. they'll sell for more. I think you'll struggle to find anyone who is unhappy with the signings we've made. It's the gaping holes in the squad and lack of willing to push the club as far as possible that pisses people off. If we get a striker (and I think we will), not sure where the gaping hole is. i'll start you off, centre half Umm, a gaping hole implies there is no-one (natural) available for the position. We have 3 CB's, sure we should have 4 but it's not a gaping hole.

I think you'll struggle to find anyone who is unhappy with the signings we've made. It's the gaping holes in the squad and lack of willing to push the club as far as possible that pisses people off. 'Gaping' holes? Please clarify. I can understand the latter part of your statement but some people seem unable to communicate clearly if you think it is just that which pisses people off. Well we've been extremely lucky to get away with playing Ryan Taylor at left back for four games this season. Starting the season without a single left back on the books is/was a bloody joke. We've had seven months to work out what to do with the Carroll money and bring in strikers that relegate our Championship-esque strikeforce to the bench or out of the squad altogether and aside from Ba (who I firmly believe like Gosling was signed more because he was available on the cheap rather than with a genuine belief he'd fit what we're trying to do) we're still here fucking around with a day to go. We needed a striker adding going into January, and that was before we sold Carroll. We've hardly any right-wing options that aren't square pegs in round holes, and the same goes for centre back cover. As I said, our signings on their own look great, but there's an almost complete lack of consideration for the overall picture IMO. It's very misleading to suggest that 'the negative people' are unhappy with our signings. Nah, you're right. Think I was just looking for an argument. They're pulling off some great deals but they don't seem to have their eye on the bigger picture at all.

  20. Still no official confirmation anywhere outside of Sky, title change premature (but promising).
