  1. Poster child for addiction there in the crowd with no shirt on.
  2. Tell me something, was Jonas an Argie international before Maradonna was manager?
  3. {predictable joke} tbs tbs tablespoon tablespoon? Man, sometimes these internet memes totally trump me. :-[ to be sure, to be sure
  4. Everything seems to fit what we know (assume to know) already, sounds legit to me.

    Joey Barton

It's all very well being self-assured and confident in your ability, but too much yak and it's still just bragging, would prefer if he toned it down a bit.
  6. Him and Suarez both. .../very glum
  7. When he first came in he hadn't a clue what he was doing. Some would argue he still doesn't and I'd almost be inclined to concede the point but I dare say he's learnt quite a bit since then.
  8. Fair enough, everyone is telling me that this is 'just how football is' blah blah blah, and making me feel like an idiot for caring about or commenting on it. If that's the case then I'm not sure I'm bothered about football any more, if what you say is true then what's the point in believing in any club or player? It's not worth the hassle. There's no point believing in any player. There is a massive point in believing in the club, and that I certainly do. The club will always remain. Ashley will, one day, fuck off. And that will be a day we can all rejoice. Until we discover he's been superseded by an even bigger (insert choice word here)
  9. I keep thinking 4-3-2-1.. Ben Arfa and Ireland behind a mobile striker.
  10. Nonsense, we've played well enough without him last few games. It really is not the end of the world, or the season.
  11. I suspect the opposite.. Ashley had confidence we could survive without him. The Sunderland and Tottenham results would have seen to that, they'd have been 6 points but for a flukey deflection and a last minute defensive error.
  12. It's incredibly naive to think that the bids/transfer requests were made/rejected/accepted at the time reported in the media. It's obvious this stretched across the last few days.
  13. It does seem he was aware, at least he knew of the first Liverpool bid and his agent would have a good idea what that meant in terms of wages. Asking for a new contract under the circumstances would be down to agent advice, persuaded Carroll the time was perfect to ask for more money as they knew that Liverpool had bid. Agent saw a Rooney type situation and mega dollars for himself.
  14. Stop posting in caps lock please, grow up. And yes it is a ridiculous fee. Blackpools were willing to let Charlie Adams go for £15 million I heard. He's more vital to that team than Carroll was to us. £36 million is ridiculous fee for a player who has proven himself in the top tier for only 6 months. I'm still gutted like but for that money you could buy two good strikers who will make us a better and probably one or two young players who can develop. Finding two good strikers who'll do the business in the prem for a club in our position is a lot easier in theory than in reality. Us having potentially more money than usual doesnt mean players will suddenly be desperate to come here. we may already have one as i'd like to see ben arfa in a beardsleyesque role. Absolutely, it's not all doom and gloom. Arguably we were too one dimensional always playing to Carroll's strengths anyway. This way change is forced upon us and it can only improve our options. (Summer tranfers completed). September will be the time to really reflect on what has happened here - and Carroll was never the ideal striker to play in front of Ben Arfa. Ask me who I'd prefer as the first name on the team sheet between Carroll and Ben Arfa and the Frenchman wins every time. Even if only 20m is spent in the summer we still end up with a stronger TEAM imo, and the club is in a stronger position financially as well.
  15. Would put money on Carroll and Suarez firing them to that last euro spot now.
  16. No-one speculating on the role of the agent here.. wonder how much he's pocketed out of this deal. Not suggesting it's all down to him but it's another factor in the mix and without disrespecting Carroll too much I don't think he's the sharpest tool in the box.
  17. Other things the tribunal cleared up are: * Keegan was never offered a chance to settle for £4m as reported in the press. * The club admitted at the tribunal that it intentionally misled the press, public and fans of Newcastle. * The club’s claim that Keegan used the Nacho incident as a ‘convenient excuse’ to walk out was not true.
  18. I'll be glad when today is over. Well I won't be if there's shit news but you know what I mean.
  19. That leads me to wonder what the longest (most posts) internet forum thread is. What's it about and what board is it on?
