  1. Hate to say it but they're outperforming us in every department so far.
  2. 1. Guitterez 2. Keegan, signed up as a player due to a spate of injuries leaving us with only 10 fit men at one point. 3. Man Utd, Fergusen chokes on his gum as Keegan gets the winner. 4. Butt (Question 4 kinda spoils it, up to then it had been pure fantasy.)
  3. The thing about Poll's comments, I see that as a position he's adopted. He'll always try and back the refs because he knows what the jobs like. he's not going to say anything to make their job more difficult. He's a spokesperson for ref's and as such he's completley biased. If the rules, or more specifically the instructions on how to interpret and enforce the rules, were more relaxed then there'd be no need for such rabid defence of ref's decisions. I'm sure Poll is right that just because a player wins the ball first doen't mean there hasn't been a foul, that wasn't an example of such a case last night though and I'm damn sure Poll knows it.
  4. because it would be used after every tackle and would take for ever. it would lead to 10 gree kicks every corner. as you point out the game was held up for a minute before the pen. what happens when they've played on and play is brought back after a minute maybe 20 times a game. the only way it could work is if ,as in tennis, they teams were allowed 3 "challanges" per game to have an incident reviewed. It should/would only be called into use when the referee believes it is potentially a penalty or red card situation.
  5. More doubt than two linesmen? Call him a third assistant then. You seem to be arguing that it is an impossible situation to resolve so we best not discuss it. And it wasn't FIFA that said it would never happen, it was that stellar intellect Blatter. http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/news-and-comment/blatter-vows-to-block-use-of-video-evidence-in-the-game-426120.html
  6. Good stuff. The problem does always seem to be with interpretation of rules. It would be a strange day when someone dreamt up a new rule where they had actually successfully considered every possible scenario in play where the rule would stand as is. The rules should all have ifs and buts attached to them allowing for common sense and fairplay etc. etc.
  7. Well how about a second ref, one to be ahead of the ball and one behind it wherever possible. Though I'm fairly sure sports that do already employ technology have not implemented it through all levels of the sport.
  8. Do you mean if they can't do it in the Conference it won't happen in the Premiership?
  9. Just seen a video on BBC where Joe says he's asked Styles to look at the incident again. Just imagining.. "Styles, you're a c***. Call yourself a referee, you're a f***ing w***er. Never a red card, I don't care what I say you're a f***ing disgrace. Get it sorted, stop being a c***."
  10. Firstly, it WASN'T a tackle from behind. Beyes right leg made no contact with the player until they were already falling. If they'd been racehorses crossing the finish line there would have been a photo-call on that one, though granted the race would have been awarded to Robinho. Secondly, as soon as Beye launched the tackle he was in trouble because Robinho just leaned into his leg guaranteeing he'd go down. Robinho has just shot up the ranks too second place behind Cronaldo for being a cheat in my mind. Lastly, why is there so much resistance to technology being utilised in football. An ariel camera on a wire that could record the incident and be replayed to an official in the stand within 30 seconds, who promptly tells the ref on the pitch. Game was stopped for over a minute before the penalty was taken so it shouldn't make too much difference to the ebb and flow of a football game to allow tech-support for refs. Plus the bonuses of correct decisions where an error could literally cost a club millions of pounds...
  11. One fluked goal because the ball pinged around the penalty area and landed in front of Ameobi and all of a sudden he's redeemed himself. He's still hopeless 98% of the time and should be nowhere near a starting place, or even the bench for that matter.
  12. Watching the replays Shola looks as surprised as anyone in the ground that that went in.
  13. That was a good chance there, Duff could have slipped it to martins?
  14. This is miserable stuff to watch, from a black'n'white perspective of course. I vote for TV replays to help refs in these situations, and so will the supporters of every team who are in the same position of potentially going a goal down and losing a player based on a right or wrong decision.
  15. 4pm today sees Stoke and Tottenham battle it out for the right to sit in 18th place, I think a draw would leave things as they are.
  16. Fairly common tactic in sales isn't it? Pressure potential buyers into a quick decision based on the idea that someone round the corner is on their way with the money to buy it. Not sure it works at this level of finance like.
  17. He's probably claiming 'constructive dismissal' rather than unfair - meaning that he was left with no option but to resign. He was 'forced out'... That's what I thought, would make more sense. If this story is genuine and true in the first place. Let's hope not.
  18. I heard the boos, what was that about then? I never read a newspaper so wouldn't have a clue what he did or didn't do. Maybe that's the answer though, don't read newspapers, listen to radio or watch TV and you'll never boo anyone unless they're just plain crap at their chosen sport.
  19. Stories like that Viasystems/Hicks one above boil my blood more than just about anything else. Often forced to wonder if the majority of the scum of the earth are actually in the wealthy elite.
  20. You want me to drop my lifelong training in apathy and actually try to do something? Never going to happen.
