  1. Pre-match commentary is absolutely wank here, a summary:

    - Newcastle is an outside bet for relegation

    - Ashley not giving kev any money

    - Not a big club, 'delusions of grandeur'

    - Unambitious in the window

    - Ripping into Colo for having ear-rings (outrageous imo)

Fucking pricks, Manyoo haven't bought anybody either "who are we to question sir alex"...... Fuck off

I reeeeeaaally want us to win this one, just to shut those cunts up.

Where is here? They sound worse than Setanta though wherever you are.

  2. Christ we have some absolute cretins on here. Bob Paisley as well as being a brilliant manager, was also a top human being to go with it. Shame on some of you lot.

Go and worship at the effing thing then

He represented Liverpool. What in Gods name has it to do with THIS club ?

"Paisley did a brilliant job for them"

The word you should take notice of is "THEM"

Hetton le Hole is in the North East.

It's not about this club (Newcastle) but it's about football and it's North East related.

Why get so upset about a post? Just don't read it, nothing to see here, move along then.

  3. Plessis looks shite.

    Hyypia looks past it.

All set up for a jammy Liverpool win then.

'Bout the only time I want Sunderland to win is against any of the top 4. A late goal from Liverpool nailed on. :(

  4. Laughing my bollocks off at this thread, Spurs need a cunt instead of all the fanny.

  5. Football Pundit (guru) Lawrenson with his finger on the pulse.. (aka The Tiresome Twaddler)

    Manchester United v Newcastle

    (Kick-off 1600 BST)

    Man Utd v Newcastle

I feel very sorry for Kevin Keegan at Newcastle. I'd like to know who is bringing the players in and what is going on behind the scenes.

They are short of strikers, and the place you do not want to be going without firepower is Manchester United.

I will be watching Cristiano Ronaldo closely this season. If his mind is just 10% at Real Madrid, then he won't be the same player as he was last season.

He is not involved on Sunday, but I do not expect that to stop United winning.

    ---------------

And a Keegan interview from the BBC:

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_prem/7551173.stm

  6. And they're still referring to last seasons meeting as a showdown.

Well, I think it was a bit of a showdown, but my feeling is that it's had a positive effect. I'm well satisfied with the players we've brought in so far, and the best may be yet to come.

I was listening to Five Live's Premiership preview with David Pleat, Gabriele Marcotti and Graham Poll. They were very negative about our chances, and full of doom and gloom about what was going on behind the scenes. It was just unreal. All this negative publicity has had a real effect.

Mind you, to some extent Keegan brought it on himself, with that little rant after the Chelsea game. I think he's learned his lesson now.

Just shows that if you repeat a lie enough times many people come to regard it as the truth. These guys are supposed to be well versed in their field, football punditry in this case, yet have bought into the stories so oft repeated in the press. Just shows to me they're not too good at their jobs really.

And if others club managers should also have bought into the pressanory then all well and good, for it just means they will be underestimating us.

  7. It's only a tune.

Never understood the significance some people place in it. Are there people out there who think it actually matters what's playing over the tannoy?

Don't underestimate how much music can create an emotional response. If a lot of the supporters identify with it and it helps create an upbeat atmosphere within the crowd then it does matter.

  8. They're not top quality but they'll serve us well until we can replace them with the 'real deal'. Stepping-stone signings if you like.

Either one may well turn out to be the real deal with a season or two under KK's 'encouraging'.

Another thing not mentioned about KK (recently), if any player is not going to make it Keegan won't hang around dithering about wether he'll maybe 'get it' next week. He'll dump them first opportunity and find someone that can take it up to the next level.

  9.

Barton will likely be suspended for anywhere from 6 weeks to half a season depending on how much the F.A. hate us.  So what we'll probably see is Butt & Guthrie.  And quite honestly, there would be Fulham and Bolton supporters who wouldn't be happy with that as their first choice.

The FA are going to be on thin ice if they hammer Barton and ignore Thaksin.
