Just got up on the last 10 pages. Incredible, now some people are saying Cabaye is mediocre when it's patently bloody obvious he's shackled by manager instruction, got to maintain team shape - that's what wins games you know, sorry, stops you losing. Only it doesn't as our last few losses show. Pardew has got more and more scared of slipping away from the top the longer we stayed up at that end of the table. Ironically it is that very fear that looks like ultimately ensuring we don't stay there.

Really? I think he comes across very well in this particular interview. Agreed, good read and quite revealing in that a fair bit of what he says goes against the commonly accepted prejudices.

My feeling is that we won't do so well next season regardless of who is signed in the summer. Not unless he grows some balls anyway. He's too much of a patter merchant with, it seems to me, the wrong priorities. Protecting the back four to the detriment of playing football and affording the opposition way too much respect. It's also been rumoured that he relies a lot on prozone stats, I don't know this to be true but it might explain quite a lot. Sadly. We'll know more come June anyway but I'm not overly optimistic.
