I'll pass judgement on this latest statement in 9 games time, but would add that from the point of view of maths alone it always makes more sense to play for a win - ever since they introduced 3 pts in fact.

I really don't think they are. It's disappointment at the perceived tactics, that is assuming Pardew calls the shots and it's not just 11 shit players making the decisions.
