Sounds like it, he had the bollocks to complain just after that when Debuchy had a shot instead of passing to him, and he was actually offside anyway. Think he's too much ego, not enough brains.

Reckon if anybody does that this year it will be Stoke, how they have dropped since the new year is ridiculous really. Teams like that usually bully their way to a good result when the going gets tough though. I can't see them going down tbh. It'll either be Stoke or Norwich, both have been dropping down alarmingly for several games already where as we've being picking up enough points to keep us in a similar position in the table. Teams don't usually look safe with 5 games to go and then drop like a stone, in fact no team has ever been relegated from the Premier League after being 13th at this stage in the season. Ouch! Stoke and Norwich both won I said IF any teams that looked safe drop like a stone it would be one of those two, not that those two were definitely going to be relegated or couldn't win a game. Maybe you should read the post you replied to initially for context. I did think Stoke were probably in worse shape then Wigan though, and I might have been wrong there. Though Stoke still only have two wins this year, that's their first away from home, let's hope this is a blip . I certainly didn't expect them to beat QPR, arry's mob might have given up, hopefully that's the case. Anyway, full of shock results today, I mean Newcastle got a point, apparently people couldn't see where the next point was coming from, mystery solved. Notice its started again already though "where's our next point coming from?"

If you're like this in our position I dread to think what state you'd be in if you were a Stoke or Norwich fan Seriously I don't think we're certain to stay up, I doubt anyone does and it's certainly worrying. But we're still pretty unlikely to go down. Another 4 points would guarantee survival IMO, and even on current form we're capable of getting those points. Its also quite likely that less than 40 would be enough.

Would you expect all of those things to happen together though? And would you have said before Sunderland that it was the only game we had a chance of getting points in? I expect Norwich to beat Reading at home taking them 38 pts. I expect Stoke to beat Norwich at home (or QPR away), to take them to 37 pts. I expect Aston Villa to beat Sunderland at home taking them to 37pts. I expect Sunderland to beat Stoke at home taking them to 37 pts. I expect Wigan to beat Swansea (on their hols) and Aston Villa at home taking them to 37 pts. All those teams may pick up additional points too of course. While we need to improve a lot on the Sunderland game at home and do something about our away form to even get one more point this season. I said before the Fulham game that, that and and Sunderland ones were the only games I could see us winning between now and the end of the season. We are not drawing games, when we go away from home we lose, the two home games we have left look extremely tough on paper and both teams are better than the shower of s**** that thumped us on Sunday. QPR away is our best chance of getting anything, West Brom don't have a lot to play for but I'm sure they will be less nervous and are in better form than s right now. West Ham are still not clear and Alardyce, Carroll and Nolan will need to motivation to want to beat us. Stoke and Norwich have much worse form than us, but you expect them to win games while you think we won't even get another point, why? Look who Stoke are playing and where they are playing them, Norwich at home ! Norwich are playing Reading at home. Those two games could be crucial to our season, I don't see Reading taking any points off anyone they are f***ing awful and it's a disgrace that they took 4 pts from us this season. Yes Stoke are playing at home, where they have only 5 points from their last 6 games, but you expect them to win. Meanwhile we're playing West Brom and QPR away where we have 4 points in our last 6 games but those games are a right off apparently.. There are 3 teams right now who are in awful form, Stoke, Norwich and Reading. If two of them meet, who do you give the advantage to ? Me I give it to the home team. Even if Stoke just get a draw from that game, you've got to back them to get a draw at QPR where they will just park the bus, as opposed to us who will go there to win no doubt. Stoke's GD is way better than ours, thanks largely to the tonkings at Man Shitty and against the mackems. It could all go down to whether us having a go at QPR yealds a better result than Stoke's park the bus tactics, away from home neither sides has worked well in 2013. Well Stoke haven't got so much as a point away from home this year and QPR have been decent at home so I wouldn't back Stoke to get a draw there to be honest. Based on recent form we've got more of a chance of winning at QPR than Stoke have of drawing there. Obviously in reality neither is very likely, though either could end up happening.. I just think if you asked a Stoke fan if they expect to beat Norwich at home and if they would back a draw at Loftus Road they'd probably answer no to both after watching one win this year at home and no points at all away. I'm still worried by the way, but I think most if not all of the teams below us should still be more worried.

West Brom have 7 points from 6 games at home, we have 4 points from 6 away. I've actually looked at the form table, I don't think you have. Not saying that's representative of our exact chances, just comparing since you asked me too. My point here is you're over rating other teams chances and under rating ours. Our away form is almost identical to Stokes home form. But you expect them to win a game there and think all of our away games are right offs, that doesn't add up IMO.

The problem is, it's difficult to find where those two draws will come from. Our last two home games are against teams who have been in as good form as anyone over recent weeks and are both regarded as "big teams". Away from home we are pushovers, our away form is pathetic and embarrassing. The games against WBA, West ham and QPR are all fixtures our squad of players should be targeting something from, but with our clueless manager and the way we play away from home, those games look like write offs. All the other teams at the bottom have games they look likely to win and most of the teams directly below us seem to be showing signs of a fight Sunderland, Wigan and Villa. While Stoke and Norwich both have much easier home games than we do and you would expect them to push past 36 points. I honestly can see us not gaining another point all season and we'll be down with that kind of form. If our form is so terrible you can't see us gaining another point then I don't think its reasonable to think all the teams around us are likely to pick them up either. Stoke have 1 point from their last 6 games home and away, that's 4 times worse then our away form! (6 times worse than our form home and away). Stokes home form is only marginally better than our away form, 5 points from Stokes last 6 home games while we have 4 points from our last 6 away. So based on form our away games (WBA, West ham and QPR) are no more right offs than Stokes 2 remaining home games (Norwich and Tottenham).
  14. Man City really just aren't trying at all, just wandering around the field. Maybe that chance will wake them up.
  15. What a chance for Wigan. Then a very good chance for Man City.
  16. Man City haven't even bothered to try so far.
  17. I don't remember that no, probably because it didn't happen. Before you respond with something like "so we didn't ever hit it long for Shearer?", I'm saying we didn't just do that, we mixed it up at times but its complete bollocks to claim that we "just aimed it at Shearers head" under Robson.

At the same time, if we turn up with can beat them all. All depends on the mood of the players and whether Pardew has killed their belief or not. I just worry about how he will set up away from home. I can't remember us dominating sides away from home too often this season, if at all really. Then our home games are against sides that could still beat us even if we do play well. When taking our away form into consideration we probably have the worst run in out of all the teams at the bottom, but we're fortunate enough to have a good healthy lead on 18th which should see us ok. Luckily other teams in and around us have even worse away from, like Norwich and Stoke for instance. They won't find their remaining away games any easier than we will.

His plan is to play Cisse off Carroll. It's so patently obvious. Carroll will be here in the summer. Yup. Agree, depressing thought. Big long Diagonals to Carroll, Cisse chasing the flick on. Like dragging football back 20 years Id sooner see that than what he's inflicting on us now. What a sad state of affairs. I'd honestly rather we kept being this shit until they finally just had to sack him. Obviously I'd rather Pardew has a renascence and becomes a good manager, but that's just not happening.

Right fine you're talking about the start of the season only. So we started 2012-2013 with the following players missing/added compared to the start of the previous season: In: Cisse Amalfitano Bigirimana Good Anita Out: Guthrie Lovenkrands Smith Kadar Best Forster Shocking downgrade that like.. Cisse came in the January to replace Carroll so take him out... Guthrie + Best tower above the names you mention coming in... Not only that they actually showed on the pitch when called upon the season we finished 5th... You said you were only talking about the start of the season, Cisse wasn't here at the start of 2011-2012. What exactly do you want to compare here?, because it seems like a mishmash of whatever suits your argument. Start of this season... Hence we already had Cisse Best and Guthrie... We sold the later two and replaced them with Anita+Bigi (for Guthrie which you argued but even 2 put together has proved a downgrade so far in my eyes) and Best which we've not replaced just played Shola more which in my eyes is a downgrade also... Hence me saying we started THIS season with a smaller squad (your outs (6) are more than your ins (5) and thats not for accounting the waste that was Xisco and Ranger)... And in my eyes a poorer squad ... Hope that is clear enough? Just seems like you're narrowing things down to a very specific period here, anything else gets to be ignored. Even then its a pretty weak argument, Bigi's looked a good player to me, but very underutilised, same with Anita. Also while Guthrie and Best played well in a winning team last season neither of them are particularly good players there's no reason to believe those two could carry us. We also haven't improved overall since January despite some more very good players coming in. Pardew consistently bewilders me with his tactics and team selections, I'm not going to blame his failures on transfers. Not really... It's the period from finishing one season and starting the next... In my eyes we started this season with a smaller and weaker squad than last... Smaller i don't think can be argued as we sold/released more than we brought in... Quality can always be argued which is fair enough hence me arguing that Guthrie outperformed last season what Anita+Bigi have done this season... Best simply has not been replaced and i thought he contributed massively until Cisse arrived in the January (belatedly to replace Carroll from the previous January) of last season putting us in a very strong position for Cisse to pick up from which he did brilliantly... Basically all I'm saying is we should've bought who we did in January in the summer... The couple of million saved buying in the Winter transfer window would i'm guessing be easily made up with a higher league position that may of been achieved and they would've been all eligible for the Europe... It would've built nicely on the momentum we'd gathered and not had to play as many players early in the season who at times looked clearly unfit also at the same time give AP a fair chance to be judged... I definitely agree we should have done more in the summer, think everyone would agree with that. Though I think it would probably have cost around £15m extra to sign the same players in the summer as we ended up getting in January. Would only have cost us a couple of extra million to get Debuchy in, which would have made a significant difference. Though its hard to justify caving in to his club asking for one fee and then moving the goal posts late on. You really reckon the difference would be £15m?... I know neither of us know for sure but i would hazard a guess nearer the £5m mark... Yes summer was a missed opportunity... We've seen under KK and SBR what momentum can bring to this club especially... I feel that has been lost and our new players have all been tarnished to an extent already with relegation woes and a heavy derby loss... The end of this season can't come quick enough for me... Hopefully starting the next in the same division... In summer 2012 both Sissoko and Gouffran had just over a year left on their contracts, no panic at all at that point for either club to sell them. At an absolute minimum maybe we could have got them both for £10m. We ended up paying £2m (?) for both (mostly because they'd already agreed to join us for nothing at the end of their current contracts). Then there's Debuchy who we ended up getting for the original £5.75m we had turned down in the summer. Also wasn't Yanga-Mbiwa's contract running down in January? EDIT: Checked and Yanga-Mbiwa actually had 2 years left apparently.

He's a much better 'footballer' than Tiote and is (this bit is funny) better physically than Anita. We could've done with him. When he's at his best he's a really good Footballer, but it was very rare.
