Nowhere near his usual standard but not just as shit as most of the rest no, he wasn't giving the ball away constantly like some of them.

Liverpool have no goal scorers and surprisingly they can't score goals

We have a fully fit Ben Arfa now, which we didn't have for more than half a season last season. We have Cisse now that we only had from January onwards. We have Marveaux now who we didn't have at all last season. Almost the same goes for Steven Taylor. Don't think we're weaker even compared to with other clubs. Think the only side that really did have a great transfer window was Chelsea. Outrageous statement that like, nearly every club looks stronger particularly the sides chasing us - Liverpool, Swansea, Fulham and Everton. Nothing at all outrageous about it. Plenty of teams have bought players and some have strengthened yes, but I'd agree that Chelsea seem to be one of the few teams to have had a great window. Also bringing players in doesn't automatically equal strengthening, not when you lose big players as well like Fulham and to a lesser extent Liverpool have.

I'm intrigued to know how you came to that conclusion? (seriously just wondering if it was a psychic moment or based on something else). Well it wouldn't be the first time this week. Can't be based on that though, we'll put a totally different side out today.

King Modric Van de Vaart Friedel (losing his legs) Dawson Huddlestone? From the Spurs fans I know they are far from happy so maybe the grass isn't actually greener? Friedel, Dawson and Huddlestone are still there man. King was so f***ing unfit he had to retire from the game. Apologies, thought Huddlestone had gone to Stoke an Dawson to Fulham. Still looking for their keeper to adapt, Veronghen (sp?) to replace a top class King (would like to see the stats but guessing he played a significant amount of games), then Dembele and Dempsey replacing two of their better players. Adebayor isn't an upgrade from last season. dembele and dempsey are two excellent signings, as good a way to replace modric as possible really People keep forgetting they got Sigurdsson as well. Dembele essentially replaced Modric. Sigurdsson replaces Van der Vaart. Dempsey is a bonus. Adebayor was secured too. Adequately though?, not a chance.. I'm sure he'll adequately replace him, that's not saying much. He won't be as good, yet, but he has the potential. Its a downgrade, no doubt about that and he's not exactly a kid either (he's one year younger than Modric).

Who have the Spuds signed like? People on SSN keep going on about what a great window they've had. I thought they'd signed Dembele, Vertongen, Loris and Dempsey (well and Adebayor but they already had him last season so that's not an improvement). While they've lost King, Van Der Vart and Modric?
-
I really doubt we're currently trying to sign Carroll, because if we were he wouldn't agree to sign for West Ham.
-
Out of interest how much do you think we've spent in comparison to what we've received since Pardew arrived?
-
Would you want to pay Carroll £80k a week to sit on our bench then?, any excuse to moan I have a feeling Sir Chubster would want Carroll to start.

IF he's going to West Ham then it means we've told him we're not interested, so I don't think its too relevant really.
-
You're disappointed if we don't get Carroll then? Can't see Carroll agreeing to go to West Ham like, even if we've told him we're no longer interested.
-
Wouldn't take him back, he's made his bed in trampsville.

Are you just randomly asking?

my opinion, while hardly ideal if we have the same squad as we do now on sat its not the worst thing thats ever happened It's increasingly unlikely Lille or Liverpool will budge on thier prices but then we already knew that. If that's the case it will be frustrating in the sense we've missed an oppertunity to strengthen an already impressive base of players, but this is squad is more than capable of another top six campaign. First 11 is cabable....not the squad. Seriously lack depth in key areas. Squad was light last year and is even lighter this time round considering we have the extra strain of Europe. On the bright side we have Ben Arfa fit and on form from the start this time rather than having to wait until Febuary. Plus its unlikely this year that we'll lose Cisse and Ba in January, and if god forbid we do lose them again we definitely won't lose Tiote.
-
Haven't Manchester City actually spent no money? (spent £18m brought in something like £20m?). Also while Arsenal/Spurs will be there they've arguably both weakened, especially Spurs so far.

Surely you can encourage or discourage offers?

"A reserve team that's not significantly worse than the first 11" Yes that's what he described as the luxury we didn't have. Might want to take the time to read properly before trying to take the mickey. Because you're only making a fool of yourself.
-
He didn't say our reserve team isn't significantly worse then our first 11 though. He said it's a luxury to have a reserve team that isn't significantly worse and that like many other teams we don't have that luxury.
-
Which luxury? A reserve team? A reserve team that's not significantly worse than the first 11, and doesn't include any players which fans think are suspect. Now I know you're having a laugh. Not sure what your issue is. He's saying that our reserve team isn't great but not many teams have that kind of luxury anyway.

Think he means Chelsea's players are offering more assistance to Hazard than ours are to Ben Arfa so far, and he's right. At the moment Ben Arfa's had to be almost a one man show at times. While even in the first few minutes of Chelsea's season we saw a central defender make a great run to give Hazard an easy through ball for the first goal. Had Ben Arfa turned his man there, which he often does, would we have a player making that kind of run?, not at the moment. Its going to be interesting to see comparisons between these two players evolve as the season goes by.
