  1. This would appear to be huge news... I always said we should respect Switzerland's position of neutrality during the war. Not for them the bloody travails of conflict, they simply wished to live in peace.
  2. Yeah, I'll have a listen to that, too, please.
  3. Pretty much what he said. Its hard to imagine him being much worse an appointment than Souness.
  4. bramble did well alongside woody, though, or do i misremember? Even AOB did well alongside him.

    David James

It was the Zog that beat him though, wasn't it? blueconfused.gif Zog's pass was the one that beat James, if I remember correctly. Sibbers had an open goal.

    N'Zogbia

Huh? He never played under Robson. correct, im pretty sure his first game was against blackburn under carver when bobby had left and souness wasnt taking over until the monday? could be wrong like Aye that sounds familiar Spot on. Came on for about... ooh, 12 seconds?
  7. that was done a few seasons ago and then scrapped I really don't remember it. Was it many time ago? It failed because the refs didn't have the balls to enforce it. The rugby version of this rule was slightly different, in that you don't have to move it forward the whole ten yards, you can take it anywhere behind the mark, so long as it's in line with it. Corrected, Continentalist. Corrected, you bloody reactionary. They've been using metres for ages, by the way. bluebigrazz.gif The M was entirely intended

  9. This poll proves first-past-the-post is the only way.

    Oliver Speaks

All this 6'4 stuff does presuppose Oliver being accurate in what he says.
  11. Thank god for that!! Hang about, it's just this kind of sensible decision making that we need at NUFC!! Shearer for manager!! I like your logic

    England v Rep of Ireland

The ROI would win due to the England squad being gutless, prideless rubbish. I reckon. Thinking about it, maybe a draw. Moral victory to the boys in green, though.
  13. No, you see it wasn't strictly his fault in the worst sense. It was unfortunate that he appointed Souness, but the main issue is that we as supporters never took to him - something that was dictated by neither rhyme nor reason. Had we done so, it would in itself have propelled us back towards the Champion's League.

    Scott Parker

Well we won't agree. I was gutted when it was announced Parker was captain because I knew what that implied. He's not good enough to be a fixture in the team. In my opinion. blueyes.gif Just declaring my side.
  15. AW should've left at the end of 04/05 for his own good.
  16. bluebigeek.gif He'll KILL you! Shepherd is Shepherd, so I've nothing much to say regarding him.

He's got some way to go before he has anywhere near the class of Darren Ambrose, though.

    Roeder on SKy site

mackems.gif I don't know if you rate Ranieri or not, but he made a play for the job prior to Shepherd obeying the wishes of the fans and appointing Roeder. You really think World Class managers like Ranieri and Hitzfeld want to manage a club that is now currently in a relegation battle? I know Ranieri did in Spring because he said so. That's what I'm getting at.
  19. As with all these "Do you want X major event to happen?" questions about Newcastle, the entire thing hinges upon our Board dealing with the ramifications of that major event. As such, I'm not too sure what I want to happen at the moment. We could sack Roeder tomorrow and get a half-competent mid-table manager who'll keep us up this season, or maybe a manager even a bit better than that, but we'll be stuck with the same old problems, and we'll find ourselves in the same position again. Something more fundamental needs to change. The trouble is in balancing long-term planning and short-term necessity. What I know I'm hoping for is a glorious takeover.

  21. I would like to think Roeder's scalp will not take these new malcontents' collective eye off the ball. They've made a fairly good start, so far.

    SWP/Lennon

Its Chelsea, so get what you can, but you'd surely take it. You'd have to have quite a plan, or a stack of resources, to do otherwise. Of course, it would predicate upon a few smallish things. I trust SWP's head hasn't gone to hell in the last couple of years, for example.
