It's not backing "him" it's giving the club the best chance of progressing by signing quality players Dunno why I'm bothering, but that's maddening.
-
Think it was Carr given the money rather than McClaren, right? Seem to remember the Shelvey and Townsend deals being "his", but those came later when desperation had set in.

Legit my favourite player in football. -
A summer of monitoring Newcastle's transfer inactivity Have we spent a fucking penny? We're about £6m in profit man, it's class.

A summer of monitoring Newcastle's transfer inactivity Been there since Wednesday night, come and join in.

Heh. Makes it easier knowing this could’ve been us.

Would take Matt Phillips gladly. Got a lot about him.

Hope all of the Spurs players have to play 120 minutes and take 2 pens each at the end in the most epic shootout of all time.

Start posting sources, people. Don't be Odin.

£10m? Would be pleasantly surprised by anything near that. As much as it "won't get reinvested" you still want to see us pulling as much in for the departing players as possible.
-
Not surprised by this, but surprised to see the reasoning. Thought he’d be after first team opportunities. Solid signing for a top-end Championship team, for sure. Good lad.

DL on his way.

How wanky is this title? New low.

Think it's canny hard to argue to be honest, they're the Geordies of national football.
-
It's canny sad, like, especially from the inventors of craic. Maybe I was in a bubble, but the #ItsComingHome thing was mainly just a sign of support for the team and most days were spent asking "is it really coming home?" in a sort of unbelieving way, with the other person inevitably being sheepish about it and just being happy we'd made it so far with such a poor group of players. Don't think I spoke to one person who actually thought we'd win it, or that we had the best team / manager in the tournament - even by the SF stage.
-
Sure it's not the picture of him in sweats? It's alright if that's the reason.

Brighton tend to do pretty decent business.

Easy playing Friday afternoon quarterback of course, but during the game I was howling for the usual Delph>Alli sub at the very least. RLC>Lingard would have helped enormously as well. Pull them back 25 yards and give us a platform to play again.

He was really poor, but so were most others as well. We looked rushed and tense on the ball. Where as Croatia seemed to find space for extra touches in possession, we were constantly playing on the edge and couldn't gain or maintain any control. Poor really. We had no way out of beating their high press, because Alli and Lingard were way too high up the pitch leaving a risky run from one of the CBs or a ball into a crowded Henderson the only real alternatives. That sort of stuff is alright against poor opposition but as soon as Croatia clocked it (HT) we never adjusted.
