  1. Obertan's looked good this season more often than not. He's a very good option from the bench. Don't disagree, was just pre-empting the expected reaction that news was going to get

Finally, Sunderland since MON came in: 2011/12 - 5 points gained from losing positions in 11 games (possible 33 points) 2012/13 - 4 points gained from losing positions in 11 games (possible 33 points) When they've gone behind under O'Neill, they've taken 9 points from a possible 57.

Thought I'd do Everton as a relatively fair comparison from 11th December 2010 to present: 2010/11 - 15 points gained from losing positions in 14 games (possible 42 points) 2011/12 - 11 points gained from losing positions in 19 games (possible 57 points) 2012/13 - 18 points gained from losing positions in 13 games (possible 39 points) When Everton have gone behind under Moyes, they've taken 44 points from a possible 138.
  5. Obertan trained today as well, so at least there's another attacking option to be had from the bench here too. /tumbleweed

Is there any context in terms of how other managers have done at their respective clubs in the same timeframe or were these counted by your own fair hand Dave?
  7. The bad thing is that Shola is still the option from the bench. Need to wrap Cisse in cotton wool. Agree, sadly. That's the only position where there is a real significant drop in quality if we get one injury - unless Gouffran can surprise a few, of course.
  8. The brilliant thing about seeing that team on paper is that there's still Ben Arfa and Tiote to consider, as well as the fact that I also look at Steven Taylor as being good enough to start in there as well. Of course we're always going to have injuries, but having 14 players that I would have no qualms about seeing starting on any given week is unheard of.
  9. I'm talking about training facilities, stadium, league standard, etc. Was worried Abeid was enjoying the good life here a bit too much when there were rumours of him rejecting loan moves last season.
  10. Good lad, at least shows some desire to get out and get some games in relatively gritty surroundings. Hope he does well for them.
  11. I'd be delighted to see him and Gouffran either side of Cisse and with free-reign to swap sides like Gouffran and Jonas were doing on Tuesday. Gouffran was involved in the early build-up to both of our goals thanks to this approach - first from the right, then from the left. I'd be surprised to see it, though.
  12. He's said himself that he considers the "number 10" position his favourite, but I agree that it's madness that some are claiming he "can't play wide" or "shouldn't be played wide" after he's spent a career there. There was a time where I'm sure people were saying the same about Ben Arfa and the right-hand side.
  13. Moi aussi. But I guess he did alright in the first half, him and Perch provided the platform for the others to go and play. Maybe. I would start Marv every game .. hes a matchwinner, capable of creating that special moment, hes also fantastic at keeping possession and keeping the tempo. So what if he cant tackle. Sissoko and Cabaye can. I think he could be just as effective wide in Ben Arfa's role, as long as he was given the same license to go hunting for the ball. I know he doesn't share HBA's acceleration, but he's no slug and is quite capable of beating a man or two if necessary. Think this is where we'll tend to see him from here on out too, provided the likes of Cabaye, Sissoko and Tiote stay fit of course. was known as a wide player in france. Such a fucking troll.

  15. It was for Jonas, there was a fair bit pointing towards such (training pictures from earlier in the week where Jonas was on the "B" team, ujpest's original ITK lineup, stuff said on BBC Newcastle's radio coverage, Pardew specifically singling out Jonas post-whistle and then Pardew's later comments). People haven't just plucked it from thin air.
  16. Fine rack, but loads of fake tan and slap troweled on too. She's just too broad man. Built like a brick shithouse.

What happens if we get into the QF of the Europa? Second leg ties are played on Thursday 11th April. Surely it'd get bumped to an early Sunday K.O.?

Talking about the new lads having to sing to the rest of the squad in the pre-game hotel last night (typical football initiation): RS: "Were they any good?" PC: "Yeah any good, any good. Moussa sing very nice, and all the new player sing very, very nice last night. I have a video I give you, no problem, hahaha, I give you." Unreal

He's ace. Just watching his interview on NUFC TV now and it's the first time I've heard him speak English. Of course his accent/voice is immense
