Not this season; he's been fairly shit every time i've seen him play. He'll probably turn into an excellent player once Ferguson's sorted him, though. Definitely needs to learn when to pass rather than going for glory. Sounds like somebody else in their first season at Man Utd a few years ago...

Certainly couldn't hurt to have Edgar, Taylor, Evans and Enrique in amongst our pool of defenders - all players capable of giving good service to this club for a very long time yet.

Liverpool have definitely been sniffing around the market for a backup GK, being linked with Harps back in April and he's been a Liverpool fan since he was a bairn, so I think it's the only club he'd consider. If he hadn't got that run for us last season then I reckon he'd probably be away, even if it was just to sit on the bench there. As it stands he's got the jersey here, so it would probably be an awful decision for him if it did actually come about. I have had the feeling that one of the two could leave, to be honest, though if the reduced wages policy is right I'd expect that player to be Given ahead of Harper, I'd bet Shay is one of the best-paid keepers in the league.

TBH I think the more mature dicussion has been coming from those on the 'impatient' side of things. It's the others that have been posting crap like this in response. They even resort to administrators of this very forum starting gloating "i told you so" threads, after 1 signing that no one know much about ! There have been a few very good posts from people such as TT and and mrmajorism (sp?) about the need to break the cycle of panic buying by being proactive in the transfer market and making early moves, if you chose to interperate that as OMG panic panic panic, then so be it. Don't take anything ShiteaM says literally, we all know he's either a WUM or completely insane. As always, I think the more "mature" or "reasoned" discussion has come from those on the fence, who don't give the same type of answer to every single story/piece of news of a similar nature. There's been crap from both sides, from what I've seen... as well as "very good posts" at times, I should hasten to add. dunno like...i've been right all along.
