  1. We'll see what happens, I suppose. Would be surprised to see it happen like.
  2. No idea, Keegan said three additional players would miss Hartlepool, one has a bad back, the other two he didn't say. All short term things, but no point putting them out against Hartlepool. Nicky Butt is might be the one who misses out with the back problem. Source is a classic friend of a friend of a friend who works at the Village Hotel where the lads were training the other day, I heard about it before they were up on here. Apparently Butt did his back in and had to sit out the rest of the session.
  3. Might just be trying to turn his head? There'll be some method to the madness. Maybe so. Still, dunno why he'd want to give up his place in the Blackburn starting XI to come here and sit on the bench. Aye, don't know if he'd want to move from the North West either being a Lancashire lad. He's probably better than Enrique, mind, at least at this point in time.

  5. In fairness to Nicko on (part of) this one, the Blackburn chairman himself has confirmed a bid of £2M has been rejected for Warnock: From the Lancashire Evening Telegraph.
  6. GG, you are a legend mate.
  7. so which is it NE5? I'm not a fence sitter myself, but it appears you're swinging your views back and forth as it suits. Please clarify if you've got the time. Thanks just read his posts and it seems to me he's spot on - the ambition he refers to is to complete deals isn't? he says something is wrong, ambition or whatever woodgate, modric, aimar have all been moved for and turned us down to some degree so he's right, something is missing - whether ambition is the right word is neither here nor there my opinion, however, is that a bid for aimar shouldn't be considered ambitious - we've just lost him to benfica if reports are correct, wasn't so long ago they were picking up our cast offs for nothing... Or perhaps we were never interested in Aimar, Woodgate had already agreed to go to Spurs before Keegan came calling, and Modric was made to go to Spurs because the Mamic brothers could get a bigger slice of the cake. BALDERDASH!!!
  8. Not a bad appointment. If he's got the credentials, then he's more than welcome back to the club It's a big if. Hopefully he has because jobs for the boys is not the way forward. Robbie has been working with Adrian Lamb from last season in an unofficial capacity. He has done an HND in Sport Science while he was at Bolton & has since done a degree in Sports Science at Northumbria University. Only at NUFC is something like this classed as a "jobs for the boys", while Fergie, Wegner build there backroom staff up with x-players it is seen in a much more positive light. Elliott's put the time in and got the stuff he needs, he's being brought in under this Hulse chap. Looks sound enough to me as well.
  9. Finnan's going downhill for me now like. Warnock's always looked a decent player to me when i've seen Blackburn; probably more attacking-minded than Enrique too. Again though it's seeing if this sort of player would come in as cover or not. Rather we loaned someone. If he (or anyone)'s coming he should come on the proviso that it's him versus Enrique for the left-back spot, and that Jose currently has the shirt so he's either going to have to excel in training or Jose's gonna have to hit a rough patch. Competition is what we want, not just "first team" and "cover", if at all possible. Same goes for Prince Habib on the other side.
  10. Spot of late night fishing.
  11. Both from an article about Aimar in tomorrow's Times written by George Caulkin, who is less of a gobshite than most other journalists. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/premier_league/newcastle/article4347518.ece Name out of thin air? Decent signing if true? Better than Jose? UPDATE
  12. I'd assume that would mean another left back is coming in? Kadar would have been third in line I'd guess Aye. You would hope this means we've got something tied-up ourselves.
  13. but Baggio said he's Keegan's number one target.. WHAT NOW? He's obviously just been overruled by Wise.

    Where were you?

Dinner lady told me about Cole at Primary school, same thing happened when Keegan left - dinner ladies knew everything back then. Shearer is a canny story. Was down in Hertfordshire for the traditional family holiday with my Spurs-supporting relatives, 5 of us packed into my Aunty's Metro listening to the radio when a news bulletin comes on: "Newcastle have completed the signing of Alan Shearer for a fee of £15M", well needless to say I went crackers celebrating, culminating with a rather venemous tirade at my cousin (who was a little girl at the time ) which ended with "...just try and stop us now!" which got me a stern telling off from the mother. Was absolutely buzzing for the rest of that break, but was gutted to miss the unveiling. Had been mesmerised by Shearer during the Euro's which we'd watched most of down south. Brilliant memory.
  15. What about Beye Beye wasn't on international duty, so he doesn't.
  16. Their wage to revenue ratio must be 80% at least now and its likely they'll get a couple more bigger name players in too I would've thought plus with a new stadium to build Gaydamak is really putting his money where his mouth is so to be speak. Must be nice.
