Fair enough. In an ideal world we'd have kept Faye for the purpose you suggest (and because he was a good player aside from that), but for whatever reason he wanted away and the club were happy enough to let him go. Maybe there might be someone lined-up to replace him?

Bit of a legend like (both Jonas and Turturro).

As someone else has finally said, Coloccini's main strength is his aerial ability and we could possible have Beye and Enrique playing (both of whom are capable in the air). Taylor may be the tallest of the bunch, but he's not exactly fantastic in the air anyway. It's fair enough having some power and height in your team, but they need to be able to play as well. The "Invincible" Arsenal team was a big, powerful unit with a lot of flair and technical ability mixed in, but there aren't many teams who prosper simply because they've got a few big lads.

Where are you getting your figures from man? Gallas 6'2"? In stilettos, maybe. I'm sure he's not even 6' mate. Then you've got his regular partner, Toure, who must only be about 6' as well. Clichy isn't the biggest, Sagna is smaller than Beye. Vidic, Ferdinand and Brown aside and Man Utd aren't exactly blessed in the air - we had them all over the place on set plays yesterday. Spurs may have Dawson and King (never plays), but Woodgate isn't a tower of strength and their fullbacks are dinky as well - much like the rest of their team (who I believe will be all under 6'). I see the argument mate, but at least use some facts to back it up with, not made up heights

Mark my words, if Taylor is out and we don't replace Faye we WILL get punished. Hardly 'midgets' Pique 6'2 Marquez 5'11, Henry 6'2, Hleb 6'1 Gudjohnsson 6'1 Different bloody league in spain anyway, give me a Premier League example? Arsenal. Man Utd. Tottenham. Etc. It can be important, but it's not the be-all and end-all.

Agree with Sned, tbh. Surely the fact that Given has been 1st choice for every manager we've had since Gullit says enough... although I do appreciate we've had a duff gaffer or two in that time.

Louise Taylor is scum of the highest order. Fucking waste of oxygen man. The likes of Phil Thompson aren't far behind.

What a shitty draw.

Am I missing something with this "smaller squad" shite, by the way? Carr, Ramage, Diatta and Rozehnal out (being very generous with the middle two after their contributions last season, and it's not exactly as if Carr/Rozey are any great loss). Guthrie, Gutierrez, Bassong and Coloccini in. I know Jonas and Colo aren't exactly cut and dried insofar as being announced officially and all that, but I think it's fairly safe to say that they've signed. Unless people are criticising the club for the current injuries?
-
It's the clubs fault were fucking around at this late stage irrespective of Jonas paperwork or not. It's the clubs fault we are starting the season with a smaller squad that last season, so yeah i think they can take most of the flack

If Smith and Cacapa start, we're going to get utterly molested.

Come and manage us then, you cunt.

Oh, I'm sure they'll still go through. Teams often roll over at Anfield. It's just funny to see how far behind they still are after signing Robbie "last piece of the jigsaw" Keane. Wasn't just meaning the tie, like. Not saying they'll be fighting for the title, but it's still daft to write them off completely after 1 competitive game.

The Daily Mail is a fucking loathesome rag.

Let's not be counting the chickens just yet, chaps.
-
We'll see, but I'm sure that there'll be better options open to him.
-
Dunno if he'd fancy it here, really. Not convinced by this on a number of counts.
-
I had Zigic and Carew together on FM once. Great times.

I thought Shola was injured anyway?

Good to know the exceptionally high journalism standards in this country aren't limited to our newspapers, though, eh?

They're all coming in by parachute.

so are these the players who aren't there? Only Viduka and Coloccini aren't there, from what I could gather from the pictures/"commentary". Faye was paired up with Owen.

Now Forster's there like, but he wasn't earlier. What a fucking huckle. Why wouldn't Milner be there man? I fucking hate SSN like, it's going off.
