I hope it's on the BBC. That doesn't even make sense!! Boo Dave, BOOOOOOOOO!!! I'm waiting for someone to come in and tell us to stop ruining a thread... we may be here a while.

I'm not fucking surprised that's what you think, sunshine! Dirty boy.
-
I think you've missed the point.

Typo man, in all the excitement of being proven right about SSN being a bunch of shitehawks. Is there a statement now? No, but they've changed their story. The truth is still out there, somewhere, but SSN probably won't be the ones to report it. They're busy covering all angles so that they can say they told us this way back when, if it eventually comes off.

Latest news had David Craig outside SJP at approximately 22:04 hours, saying that the latest from the club is that while Alan Shearer is held in very high esteem here by officials and fans alike, the line from NUFC is that they are in the market for an "experienced manager". No mention of British or foreign, just that it looks very unlikely to be the sheet metal worker's son from Gosforth.

Have you been bodysnatched, mate? I think they may have just got the reaction they were looking for. Now ring in, quick!!

See the other thread. I'm absolutely overcome with smugness right now, this is me --->

You lot should beat them at White Hart Lane, though. 1-1 at the Emirates is a decent result.

There's been an echo on this forum at times today, I tells ya!

Butt isn't suspended yet.

SSN for the win. Fair play to them, they get the suckers every time.

Apparently it's going to be converted into a museum showing how football was played in the stone-age. You've got some brass neck with the state your club is in at the minute, fella!

Given Crumpy's record of being on the money with stuff like this, I can't help but feel a few of the hystericals could take note of this post of his - made 11 days ago, and then combining it with the "mutual agreement" part of the OFFICIAL STATEMENT, which is the only thing we have outside of speculation at this point in time.

WHAT ABOUT THE GOD-DAMN WAR ROOM?!?

I love you, but that post is worth a banning. http://www.newcastle-online.com/nufcforum/index.php?topic=20035.0 Being someone who can administer bans myself, albeit reluctantly and infrequently, surely that makes me exempt? Hold on... did you just try and get me banned as well?

Hughes is the most obvious current candidate, if we're taking SSN at their word about it being a British manager who looks like being at a club, but he's hardly one to capture hearts and minds! Hughes, Redknapp or Moyes are the ones that would immediately seam feasible.

Fucking hell, talk about crawling out from under your rock. No posts since August 10th... For the record, Allardyce played 4-4-2 as much as he played 4-5-1, but you're right about the football being boring.
-
They've got good contacts. They knew Sam was going to be sacked before he did...they don't just make things up and stick it on the yellow banner. I'm not falling for that one just yet. Read Crumpy's "Allardyce Wants Out" post, and numerous other tidbits that have emerged today/recently: i.e. "MUTUAL AGREEMENT" being a fairly big clue. Are we assuming that SSN asked Sam this at 5pm, he goes up to see Mort to ask if it's true (was Allardyce at SJP already, btw? If so, why?), who says, "well, we're a bit fed up, shall we call it a day mate?" Then he agrees, they embrace, and he leaves with a nice little sentence or two about the club? Then there's a statement on NUFC.co.uk at around 5.40pm with quotes from both gaffer and chairman... did this all happen within the hour?

Didn't someone say it was on Setanta too? SetantaSports News, that well-reputable source of all things football. I'd be amazed if they weren't hooked up to a screening of SSN and copied everything from them. It would explain the fact that whenever I watch it, they seem to be a few minutes behind everything happening. Like when a goal goes in on a Saturday, they'll not mention it for ages while it's flashed up on screen, then go to the reporter: "there's been a goal down at Fratton Park...". Blind leading the blind?

All I've seen so far is that "SSN understands Shearer hasn't been approached and that we're after a British manager..." No quotes from Mort, or Ashley, even though SSN attributed the statement as "Ashley says". Then that Scottish bloke asked people to ear-wig on Shearer and Shepherd in Barbados to find out more. I think it's safe to say that SSN don't know as much as they'd like, much like the rest of us.
