Hes definately not worth that money. Id pay 10 for him, not more. For 17 mil we could just aswell go for some real star quality like Van der Vaart or Diego Exactly! if your going spend big money why not spend it on someone who really is worth that much, that isn't Carrick for sure. Why would van der vaart and diego be stars in the premiership? Carrick has proven himself to be top-notch in Tottenham and Manchester United. ATM we cant take gambles, not until the summer. Good Buy if Keegan gets him imo. He is british and therefore extremely overpriced. To me he is just not worth as much as Diego or Van der Vaart. They are a step up in quality from him. But hey, ill take him aswell :-) !

Midfielders first please. Make a big money steal for Van der Vaart, Diego or Modric.

Our problem in defence is our midfield. We have midfielders that just aren't good enough at the moment. We need a better defensive midfielder and som other mifielders thats comfortable with the ball and can keep the ball in our side with good passing and creativity. Our midfield has som good payers but its a bad combination of players.

Ginola not a big name? He was one of the main players in that PSG team of the mid 90's who could quite easily have won the European Cup. Asprilla Shearer Ferdinand Quite proven players..

If we have all the money thats being said we should definately try to steal Mascherano. Would be a great signing for us.

I actually dont think we will see any big signings in this window. I think they will prepare for the summer and wont do anything in a haste. The scouting this spring will be crucial.

I think it would be excellent with Shearer as Keegans nr 2. Then Shearer can take over after Keeegan and we are building som continuity for once.
