I think apart from Marv not doing much second half, Perch came on in response to Le Fondre warming up as he has came off the bench and scored a few times recently. So he swapped an attacking midfielder for a defensive as they were preparing to bring on another striker and go for it. So by them going for it, if was a betting man I would bet we had more chance of hanging onto a 1 goal lead than out scoring them with Ameobi and Cisse as attacking threats, similar to what happened to 8th place WBA last week. Le Fondre is not a bad player he scored both goals in there victory over Everton this season, scored and earned a draw at Stoke, scored when they nearly drew with Man Utd, scored against Arsenal, scored twice against Crawley and once last week when they did the same to WBA. I knew it myself when I see him come on we were in trouble. I mean who hasn`t scored past our defence and who has Ameobi and Cisse scored against this season ? Again don`t take this as me saying I wouldn`t welcome a better manager but sometimes there is a reason behind peoples logic that isn`t just down to them being a crap manager. We are at home and worried about Le Fondre coming on so we remove one of our best m/f players ? Do you think KK would have done that ? No - he would have let Reading worry about us.... could understand perch coming on, i'd have had him on from the start, it was not taking shola off/starting him in the first place that was the probelm as well as starting jonas. Clutching at straws here, maybe he was highlighting to MA how much we need a Striker/winger lol

I see the we were at home logic but we have been a bit of a shambles at home and away all season. Home advantage has done us no favours all season. As for what KK would have done, well we are well past that, let them worry about us ? No one is worried about our squad at the moment. The only player any team has to fear at the moment is Cabaye but he went off injured and Santon if you let him inside.

We have been disgusting as you put it, but we were still the better team. Were the players disgusting or the tactics Wullie ? Who would you have brought on for Cabaye & Marv ? I wouldn't have brought off Marveaux in a million years. Shola and Jonas both needed replacing - neither should have started. Replacing with who though ? Marv didn`t touch the ball more than 3 times in the second Perch did and earned us a point last week ? You thought Shola and Jonas should have started and stayed on for 90 minutes? If Marveaux wasn't having an influence, that's because the players had very clearly been told, as soon as we scored, to let them have the ball and defend it. That is Pardew's default reaction to a 1-0 lead. I didn`t say they should start, I just want you to name better alternatives. As for the second part I can see the logic in defending a 1-0 lead when you have 2 strikers that probably won`t score for the rest of the season unless its a deflection. You can attack all day long with those 2 it won`t get you any goals. Papiss Cisse? Are you taking the piss? I think a better alternative would have been a central three of Anita, Cabaye and Perch/Bigirimana with Obertan and Marveaux either side of Cisse. As attacking as we can possibly get against the only side worse away from home than us. Obertan is worse than Jonas, I know that takes some doing but at least Jonas will track back and defend, at the same time as kicking the ball harder than my dead nan. Bigi has been on a downward slope for the past few games, miss placing a lot of passes, he allowed the cross in for the second if I remember right, out paced and brushed of the ball. The annoying thing about Shola...actually wait theres too many, the hoof ball sticks up front for 30 seconds longer when he plays so I see the logic in playing him when your alternative is Obertan. It wouldn`t matter how many balls got threaded through to Cisse from a packed misfield because he has spent this season offside or on the floor.

Good post I was beginning to give up on this forum. Utterly shit post you mean? Stick the "moral high ground, we're just being rational" garbage in your pipe and smoke it. Reading had 2 shots on target both went in, their shot accuracy was 28.6% we had 7 on target 53.8 %. We had 55% of the possession, We won 63% of headers, we made 436 passes with 80 % success compared to their 371 with 68.7%, we had 36 crosses they had 11, I could go on because we beat them all over the pitch any stat you want to bring up. Slag stats off all you like ( thats always the next reply to a stats related post) we were the better team by a mile, we were beaten by shit luck plain and simple one 3 metre slide-athon arms and all and some twat miss kicking a shot into a pass. We didn`t score more because we have only one ST who is out of form badly. Pardew didn`t bring Cabaye off to make us play worse, he would have been informed by professionals how many minutes he could risk him for. We have seen plenty of managers ignore advice to get 3 points only to loose a player for a further 5 months and then we would be 100% down without him. I put money on the fact that Marv as brilliant as he was in the first half did absolutely fuck all in the second. Santon is poor defensively. Booing does make players play worse when they are shot to bits on confidence and not to mention I hope no new/potential signings are watching. To be totally honest I`m not even sticking up for Pardew because there is alot better out there out of work but get a grip what do you see when you watch football because I saw what Skirge did.. Mate I apologize. I let the cunt out of the bag. Fuming over the performance. But I still disagree. Yeah its cool mate, I havn`t felt this shit since Souness was in charge but I just see things slightly different to most.

To be fair, Cabaye, Pardew, and backroom would have all known he was doing 70mins max, probs marked down for 60 mins. Marv went missing after 40 mins so I don`t know what some people are on about in slightest and I don`t think they do themselves. Beaten by 2 stupidly unlucky goals in all honesty. I actually am starting to weaken and feel like blaming Pardew for everything regardless of the facts. That Pardew twat snowed me in this week and snapped the front door key in my lock.

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/4739799/Sylvain-Marveaux-I-was-like-Forrest-Gump.html SYLVAIN MARVEAUX has put in more miles than Forrest Gump in his bid to impress Alan Pardew. Newcastle’s French midfielder insists he has finally come to terms with the lung-busting effort needed to keep pace in a marathon Premier League season. And his willingness to do the hard yards has finally won the 26-year-old a starting place after an injury-ravaged year on Tyneside. Marveaux is happy to be a 21st century version of Tom Hanks’ lovable road-running character from the classic 90s film. And he insists life in the French league is a stroll in the park compared to the demands of the English top flight. The ex-Rennes winger regularly covers seven miles during games. And he admitted: “I don’t know exactly how much more I’m running in this country, but it feels like I am. “In the Premier League it seems like you’re running all the time, every minute. There’s no time to rest during a game. “That’s the big difference between here and France. There, you have a lot more time on the ball. “It takes time for your body to get used to the pace and energy of the game here and I now understand what’s required to play regularly in the Premier League. “I think the manager can see the big improvement in my game in terms of workrate.” Most of last season was a write-off for Marveaux, who was laid low by hip surgery soon after his arrival on a free in summer 2011. But he is finally getting back to his best and scored in the recent defeat at Arsenal. Marveaux added: “I’m feeling good and fans are starting to see the best of me because this is the first time I’ve played a few games in a row. “It was difficult last season because I’d just got back from injury when I arrived and then I was soon injured again. “But this season I’ve been fit and able to show the manager I can be a Premier League player. “I never thought it was the wrong move coming here. I like the place but there was a time when I thought about moving on to play because I felt good and fit but I wasn’t being picked. “I was thinking more about going out on loan than leaving, just to get games.” Under-pressure boss Pardew will give £5million defender Mathieu Debuchy his debut at Norwich today as Toon bid to avoid their 10th defeat in 12 Premier League games. Marveaux added: “It took me a while to adapt — but I think Mathieu will settle quickly.” Read more: http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/4739799/Sylvain-Marveaux-I-was-like-Forrest-Gump.html#ixzz2HkElSbYB

Working with Williamson week in week out is enough to make anyone want to leave. He has made Colo look shit. Maybe Colo knows we still aren`t getting a CB this window either.

Norwich City vs Newcastle United - 12/01/13 @ 3pm (not on TV)
Rebellious replied to bowlingcrofty's topic in Football
Has anyone here ever watched a game in the other teams end ? I got offered vip tickets for this but 50/50 weather I get in our end, so I turned them down. I can`t see myself staying quite if we scored and didn`t fancy the attention lol. I think had we signed Remy or Cabaye, Ben Arfa was back I would have chanced it for the lounge after. I just imagined it would be like in the films and I`d get a hiding. I`m probably wrong. -
“At Chelsea you have world-class players who understand football perfectly. I saw that every time I played against them but to play in the same team as them is something different. “You just have to make the runs and the ball comes to your feet. They create good spaces and make the right passes. They are intelligent in their game so they make it easier for me. “I just try to run in behind and create space for them as well. I know that when they have some space they will be very dangerous. Not sure if anyone has posted this. Says a lot about our team once we lost Cabaye and Ben arfa to injury as much as it does Chelsea. Not many of our team have footballing brains or the ability to make passes like those two. Many would have you believe its all Pardews tactics though. I think we brought Anita in for this reason another player who can spot a pass but he has took a bit longer to adjust than we all thought.

100% spot on ......head buried in sand will not work. Sorry had to go out as much as I would like to discuss my point all day. Will catch up in a bit

All of what you say is fair enough, but if we were playing decent football and getting beat, i'm willing to accept the ups and downs. We are playing as worse as i can remember, with a manager who is a defeatist as you can get. It's not just about the results, its the woeful chances we barely make, the ridiculous set penises, which he deserves the sack for, in coming up with absolutely nothing in 2 years of being manager, complete joke of a manager where they are concerned. His tactics and formations with the players he has beggar belief. He isn't good enough and never will be. I hope i'm proven wrong as the club will be doing well and thats all that matters to me, The stats prove different. Against Arsenal we made 11 shots with a higher accruacy than Arsenal. Against Man Utd both teams had 15 shots, our accruacy was higher again. Against Qpr we had 21 shots against there 4. Against Man city 17 shots each. I could go on. It suggests to me we have the worst defence on the day.
-
there is nothing whatsoever been shown to suggest he has the ability to turn this slide around though, he's mis-managed good players the whole season so the idea is to let him have some more good players is it? I think he has turned it around from Stoke onwards, the results just havn`t reflected it due to all sorts of different reasons, most of them being individual errors, but then his hands have been tied as he can`t drop anyone if it means replacing them with someone just as bad.
-
If a player doesn't do what he's told you don't play them and if it wasn't down to the manager, why did Ben Arfa, Ba and Cabaye who regularly attend training think it was down to the manager? Who do you play there instead ? Is it Pardews fault we have no one to play instead of Williamson, we have tried Perch, Raylor, Tavernier and Simpson there, none of them have made any improvement. Your reply would be valid if Pardew persisted with these players whilst keeping Debuchy and Taylor on the bench and lets be honest Taylor is still not the answer.
-
Do you seriously think our players want to just hoof the ball? And, if they do, why does the manager not stop them from just hoofing it? I think that was kind of the point he was making - the manager can say "look Danny and Mike, I want us to play incisive passing football so when you get the ball can you please pass it first time in a precise manner to a nearby player wearing the same colour shirt" If Danny and Mike prove incapable of doing this, what is your next choice? Thanks, thats what i`m trying to get at. I also mention Tiote having trouble with this and Jonas this year too. Even Bigi who we have had to rely on so much has been guilty of trying but miss placing 3-4 passes a match.

so what specific tactical mitigation(s) has pardew come up with in the last 5 months to cover 2 shit players out of 11 in his team then? that's what he's paid for and is the sign of a good manager is it not, succeeding in the face of adversity all i can see that he does is throw the same players in week in week out hoping something changes I don`t think no one is claiming he is a world class manager. We have too many weak links to be fair, 2 shit players out of 11, thats a stretch. I would say more like half the team most of this season. I think when we only had 2 shit players in the 11 is about the only time we have actually picked up points, soon as its more than is when we loose. 2 shit players is enough anyway, it takes 1 shit player to cost us a goal and turn a draw into a loss or to loose 1-0. Is there anyway of finding out how many of williamsons clearences actually set up an oppossing teams attacks and how many set up one of ours ? I`m willing to put money on it being something like 10-1. Most games its 13 against 10 what with Williamson and the refs decisons we have had this year.
