You would need to compare pitch time, matches played and how long of each spent out injured to get a true comparison not based on opinion only ?

I don't think it was a genuine attempt to sign him, but it was a PR exercise so that the hierarchy could justify their inactivity. Either way, 10M for Ruiz is outrageous, so I'm glad whichever way you look at it we didnt succeed. The real question to be answered is 7 months to find no-body. Scandalous! I think after getting messed around by plan A,B, & C in the striker hunt we didn`t imagine we would need a D and E. So then the Ruiz thing was a panic thing. Add to that Barton`s Drivel on Twitter, Nolan and Enrique, Visa`s etc things just didn`t go to plan apart from the ones we did get who probably had back ups scouted too.

Has the transfer window been extended just for us? How kind of FIFA! I understand the frustration that we can't get one more striker. But that's debatable because we could be better off playing a 4-5-1 formation instead of 4-4-2. Nearly every football fans other than NUFC thought we have a marvelous transfer window by being able to dispose old players like Nolan and Barton while getting players like Cabaye and Santon on a ridiculous low price. The only downside they said is we sold Enrique for too little money. Believe it or don't. Broken promise of a new forward hence the anger tbh I break promises myself, sometimes life just gets in the way, we are dealing with buying people here and making them promises about there future they may or may not beleive us or what ever will stop happening what we all wanted. I find it weird how a lot of posters on here who should be using a touch of common sense and realise that its not a MA hating all things NUFC and success conspiracy theory but in fact not everything goes to plan. Its not the same as buying a Mars Bar.

8 months to buy a striker, plenty of time to negotiate with other clubs. Other teams in and around our league position managed to tie up deals for strikers... Stop talking shyte, no NUFC fan wants has beens at the club anymore but we can see when a player has value to the squad. Barton and Nolan would have been very useful for at least another season to at least help the new players bed into the prem league and not forgetting they both had a decent previous season, so its not like they were not preforming. Back to the striker, 8 months to cut a deal and it still wasn't done. Stop kidding yourself man. What Striker would you have wanted that a team got in and around our league position i`m looking and I don`t see any ? The same goes for all the other clubs, they have all had a year to get this top striker out there ? We could have had ruiz (if we really were in for him), we could have taken Bendtnar on loan, we could have treated Sochaux with more respect and maybe could have cut a deal for Maiga, we supposedly p*ssed about for the two guys from PSG, we sniffed about Roux. We seemed to do most of our sniffing around one league with the exception of Santon who we SIGNED! Theres plenty of leagues around the world to scout players, not just france! Maybe they wanted more wages than we currently pay Ben Arfa, Cabeye , Santon , Marveux, Obertan ? Maybe they were waiting for a better club in there eyes to come in for them. I can`t claim I know much about the players linked or weather the record on paper is any better than what we have here, enough to justify maybe upsetting those in the current wage structure. Whos knows ? I just don`t buy into Ashley is delibratly trying to ruin our club ? It makes no sense to self harm yourself unless he is depressed. i dont think he is out to destroy the club but i do suspect that they were never really after a replacement for carroll once Ba signed. That was it, job done. The rest was stringing the fans along for months. Proven liars. Lied again. Can`t see such a conspiracy theory myself, but hey footballs about opinions. Yours is much more exciting but hard to believe myself personally.

Also, you mention building a sqaud...we let go Enrique, Barton, Nolan and Routledge, brought in new players to the prem. Enrique / Santon , Barton / Cabaye, Nolan / Ben Arfa, Routledge / Marveux. All the out goings you mention went for various reasons. Barton was probably the only one that should have or could have stayed. So we couldn't have kept enrique despite him saying on numerous occasions that he was waiting to see what happens with the carroll money. We quite clearly couldn`t match Liverpools Gamble even with the Carroll money. We have been finishing below Liverpool for years.

This Team mainly built this summer and a small part last is 10 times better than the shit we were left with by a string of shit managers since SBR left. Theres no pleasing some people. Throwing money at Luque, Owen types and other shit didn`t work then and it wouldn`t have worked this window. Same with the midfield, I don`t want Duff`s ( money grabber types ) I don`t want Nolans ( Fat has beens coming to the twlight of there careers ) I didn`t want Bartons/ Rangers ( bad press ). Some of the reactions last few days, Seems that the ownership/managment can`t win. Most of the transfer movement I would say 80% were crap players we wouldn`t have wanted, the other 20% end up at the big time clubs. At the moment NUFC are either a downwards step or a sideways step for most decent strikers end of and what would be the point of bringing in a striker no better than what we have or paying 20mill for maybe 3 extra goals a season by someone slightly better just to appease the people who don`t see the bigger picture. I think to build a decent squad that will last more than 3-4 years takes time and a little disappointment. Outside of the top 6 I don`t really see any striker we should or could have had without throwing stupid money and pissing off current players on probably half the wages. Yet people act like its all down to the people running the club being stupid. Man City and a few others continue to buy anyone they want, causing the other clubs slightly less rich to buy players that might have been going to slightly lower clubs and its a snowball effect, look at Arsenal buying unchararistically for example. Theres not a pile of good players sitting around with p45`s we are just ignoring.

Fulham did the medical for us.

I know its a laughable source but if it helps he is better on FIFA11 than the others we have been linked with.

Harsh. Is it fuck. Fair play. Our owners are quite incompetent it seems. The transfer window is not 48h. Get thing done early, stay on top of thing, is it that hard? From what I have seen today, its the norm unless your in the top 4 of the top leagues. I can picture, Agent to player, Newcastle have enquired, lets wait and see if any other clubs show interest.

Yohan Cabaye (now sporting coordinator at Paris Saint-Germain)

Reminds me of Paul Scholes. Good range of passing, A good shot, vision and has a dodgey tackle in him when needed. -
Ridiculous statement. They're not ball-playing defenders and panic under pressure. Not the people I'd want playing the ball out of my defence tbh. I think everyone relaxed when Saylor came on for Williamson, I was actually happy the clumsey excuse got injured.
-
He spent most of the half helping out Marveaux ( who looked scared he might get injured ) and Raylor. The whole team was shite in the first half. He made a few good tackles whilst the game was passing other players by. Definatley looks a bit off the pace for some reason though.

Just looking at some of the prices things went for there. I wonder how much a NUFC T-shirt signed by nobby, shearer , SBR, Robert plus whole squad of 03/04 season would go for ?

That line up and you're in business. Hopefully a different left-back too. Was tempted to put a new LB but I think it would be too soon to throw one in to an Away derby. -

Krul Simpson Taylor Colo Ferguson Barton Toite Ober Cabaye Jonas Ba We will win 3-1. If Ober starts I can see a goal from him and 2 from Ba. -
They should have switched venues to SJP.

Is Mike Ashley the worst person ever to have been associated with NUFC?
Rebellious replied to AlanSkÃrare's topic in Football
It could put players off joining us who see us as a stepping stone to a Top six club. -
Tactically lowering our expectations.

Hung around with Kevin Beatties daughters when I was at school, been round his house -Ipswich and England player 70s - 80s Admirers included a who's who of English football management, including Sir Bobby Robson, Bill Shankly - who tried to sign him for his Liverpool side, Don Revie and Sir Alf Ramsey. Owned a Bar Alan Brazil used to own. Know Louie Donowa - Ex Ipswich Used to get tickets and VIP from Ipswich`s physio at the time they were in the prem. Know Ruel Fox, Nearly did a Bar with him, used to come to a club I managed. Know Jason Dozzell Ex Ipswich and Tottenham. Met Bobby Robson and accidently pissed him off coz my staff were too busy to serve him and I was stuck on the phone he was with someone important at the time, Think maybe Shepard. Went to an exclusive VIP birthday party years ago and met Rio Ferdinand, Sol Campbell, Anderton and shit load of others, to long ago to remember. Refused Dyer entry to my Club in front of all his mates, just to make him look a twat in front of his mates and arselicks. Good friends with Tes and Titus. Sorted it for me to meet Shearer and all the SBR team on 3 occassions. Got speeds parking pass at SJP. Got Jim Magilton so drunk he went home in an ambulance. Loads more but can`t remember. Thats spread over 20 years.
