Not the man for the big occasion, at all.
-
That wasn’t the performance of a top 4 side, basically.

The thing about this Liverpool team is they have such dangerous options further up the pitch.
Once we hadn't got a second, and I saw Jota and Nunez coming on, felt so uncomfortable.
Indeed - which makes it even more difficult to explain why the manager instructed the players to stand off them let them have possession.

70-80% good and 20-30% absolute disaster + flashes of true quality from Nunez that decided what should have been an easy match. It would be nice to see Nunez do it against someone else and not just us.
This one's going to hurt. Stay off social media.
No FFP and I think we win this match. We came close and could have won anyway with better game management, but we came up just one body short. Stronger in just one position and we get a second.
Well they had a body short, and still deservedly and confidently beat us. That match was nothing to do with FFP. Was just crap from manager in particular and players.

I hope someone asks Howe in the presser “why do you seem to be scared of Klopp and Liverpool?”

I know we’re not suppose to criticise the manager on here but I think he has to take a lot of the blame for this. We came out after half time with no drive, no aggression, no determination to finish the game off and nothing of his demeanour on the touch line suggested he wasn’t happy with the approach. We’ve just gifted Liverpool 3 points they didn’t deserve because we were cowards. Really shit from Howe!
Yup - really poor from him today, and last week. Same as the cup final, home to arsenal, Leicester match etc - there’s an evident and clear trend of them bottling the big occasion and not knowing how to step up. That was a concession, not a defeat.

Fuck off man.
No, I won’t. It’s a fair comment. That was extremely poor in-game management from Howe.

Can folk see now how we can upgrade at manager?
-
Well Eddie Howe has had his first absolute disaster here.
-
Hate to engage in the NUFC360 shit but Bruno has been so mediocre.

Howe really needs to study how to play against 10 men, we do this every time.
Yup, one of his weak areas, alongside playing the big teams.
-
Why are we so afraid of passing the ball?
-
Hate to say it but Howe deserves so much criticism for this. Really cowardly second half.
-
You can tell that we’re still completely not accustomed to competing at the top level of the league in my view. This is a nervous and immature performance.

He did dive

This is pretty poor, we look scared to grab the initiative.

Almiron just isn't it
Literally almost scored a goal which would have been in contention for goal of the month, if not season, 10 mins ago. Come on

Hammering it down. Such a shame. Think it will suite them better.
Why do you think so?

He really has become a complete bellend - no idea why he's trying to cause disruption in a very important game.
Because his employer demands it, literally that’s the answer

Morrison “why did you not send him though?” - never would have credited him but that’s good journalism straight away, and hilarious in his accent.

Just watching Match of the Day. Saka pulls Bassey down, injuring him in the process, he’s left on the ground in pain, Fulham are a defender down, 10 men on the pitch and Arsenal play on and score. Mildly infuriating.
Right?! I genuinely believe that club embodies institutionalised cheating. No matter the era, player, manager, weather, occasion etc, they always manage to grub their way to profiting from breaking / bending / stress-testing the rules. Arteta is a total creep in my view, and i so want him to be found out.

Well I’m not sure your take is as nuanced as reality suggests it should be. When the pressure of the run-in really ramped up - ie when Liverpool started winning every week - we drew at leeds looking pretty ropey, we played great v Brighton, and we were edgy and a pope wondersave away from a loss against Leicester. We were meek AF in the cup final. We were meek away to city both this and last season. We were wank at home to arsenal last season. We devoured spurs when we needed to and beat Man U at home in a big match.
His record in big fixtures is mixed. It suggests to me that he isnt quite top table at this stage. Today we didn’t look like a well coached team.
